!!Characters from the Alexandria Safe-Zone in the comic series ''ComicBook/TheWalkingDead'':

A community of survivors built around a emergency government facility on the outskirts of Washington D.C. with a isolated power grid that was to be used in case of a major disaster. Founded by Alexander Davidson, a security liaison at the White House, and his friend Congressman Douglas Monroe, the Safe-Zone survivors quickly put up a wall around the area using materials from a nearby construction site, with the wall being expanded periodically as the community grew larger. Leadership of the community was given to Rick Grimes by Douglas a few weeks after he arrived, and under his leadership, Alexandria has become part of a network of communities seeking to rebuild civilization.

!!Nicholas
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nicholas_twdc_6910.jpg]]
-->'''Debut:''' Issue 71

Nicholas is a citizen of the Safe-Zone who lives with his wife Paula and son Mikey. He attempted to lead a conspiracy against Rick and his people, believing him to be a dictator trying to kill the original inhabitants of the Safe-Zone. When Rick spared his life, Nicholas realized he was wrong, and joins Rick's inner circle of advisors.
----
* BadassMustache
* BatterUp
* CharacterDeath: [[spoiler: Dies from the zombie infection after being wounded by one of the Savior's infected weapons.]]
* DeathByIrony: [[spoiler: Is fatally wounded while helping an injured Rick, who he hated and had tried to murder several volumes earlier]].
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After his conspiracy is stopped, he becomes one of Rick's advisors.
* EasilyForgiven: He suffers no repercussions after beating up Glenn and almost shooting him while trying to rally the inhabitants of the Safe-Zone to kick Rick's group out. This leads to him becoming extremely loyal to Rick, although Andrea questions Rick on how wise this was.
* HappilyMarried: From what little we see of the relationship with his wife Paula, they have a very solid and loving marriage.
* InTheHood: After winter arrives, he constantly wears a hoodie with the hood up, although one would think that would restrict his peripheral vision, which is pretty important in a ZombieApocalypse.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He can be a hot-headed asshole, but is also a loving family man who will utimately do the right thing when it comes down to it.
* OnlyAFleshWound: {{Averted}}: he is shot in his right arm by a Savior in Issue 114 and begins bleeding heavily. Dr. Cloyd tends to his wound, but his arm is now in a sling and he cannot participate in the war against the Saviors. He recovers in time to participate in the battle at the Hilltop.
* PapaWolf
* {{Pride}}: What leads him to try and start a conspiracy against Rick: having worked in construction before the ZombieApocalypse, he can't stand being reduced to a "dirt digger" again while Rick and the other newcomers begin taking over leadership positions.
* ZombieInfectee: [[spoiler: He is wounded by one of the Savior's infected weapons during the battle at the Hilltop, which results in him becoming infected.]]

----
* AscendedExtra: Even more of an extreme example than Mikey; though she was mentioned as far back as Issue 71, she didn't physically appear until Issue 99 and didn't get a line until Issue 125.
* HappilyMarried: To Nicholas. [[spoiler: She's devastated when he dies]].

-->'''Debut:''' Issue 67

->''"This place is a shining beacon of hope in the middle of a waste land."''

Aaron is a recruiter for the Safe-Zone alongside his partner Eric.
----
* AfraidOfBlood
* BadassGay: He and Eric are fully capable of surviving on their own for weeks at a time while out recruiting, and Aaron has shown himself to be an excellent shot and capable melee fighter.
* BattleCouple: With Eric, and he is the better fighter of the two.
* DeadpanSnarker: He's a little too quick with the snarky comments, which gets people annoyed at him sometimes.
* DespairEventHorizon: We don't see a whole lot of his reaction, but [[spoiler:he's almost certainly crossed it now that Eric is dead]] And then averted when it turns out this has only fueled his drive to fight the Saviors; he actually handles it quite well.
* TheIdealist: He always looks at situations from the best point of view possible, and is convinced that Alexandria can be the start of civilization returning. However, he is also a realist about human nature, since his experience recruiting people resulted in him encountering many dangerous individuals, so he knows that humans can be just as big a threat as zombies.
* LoveInterest: For Eric.
* MacheteMayhem: He is seen using a machete a few times to dispatch zombies.
* MinorInjuryOverreaction: When Eric is stabbed by a women they were attempting to recruit, Aaron panics and rushes him back to Alexandria. The wound turns out to not be very deep, and Eric barely lost any blood before Dr. Cloyd treated the wound. Aaron tells Rick that he would have no idea what to do if he lost Eric, making his reaction understandable.
* NumberTwo: To Douglas. Since Aaron was the main recruiter, it was often his decision on if people were admitted into the Safe-Zone or not, but once inside, he followed Douglas' orders and decisions while giving him some advice.
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: His brand of snark is not very appreciated by some of the other characters, and he admits it has gotten himself into trouble on a few occasions. It even earns him a DeathGlare from Abraham at one point.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: After [[spoiler:Eric is killed]], the war with the Saviors becomes [[ItsPersonal personal]] for Aaron, and he swears that he won't stop until they are all dead.
* StraightGay
* TheSneakyGuy: He was able to follow Rick's group of experience survivalists around for several days without ever being noticed. During the conflict with the Saviors, he is chosen to go with Jesus to scout out Negan's outposts due to his stealth skills.
* ThoseTwoGuys: He is almost always seen with Eric.

-->'''Debut:''' Issue 68

Eric is a recruiter for the Safe-Zone alongside his partner Aaron.
----
* ActionSurvivor: Compared to Aaron, who is a legitimate {{Badass}}.
* BattleCouple: With Aaron, although he is less combat-proficient.
* BoomHeadshot: [[spoiler:He is shot in the head and killed in "All Out War" during an attack on one of the Savior's outposts.]]
* BuryYourGays: [[spoiler: Though he lasts a while]].
* TheCynic: Unlike Aaron, Eric is fairly cynical about the problems Alexandria has to deal with, a fact which sometimes causes conflict between them.
* DeadpanSnarker: Less so than Aaron but he has his moments.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: When ordered by Negan to throw Carl over the wall he responds by saying [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome "Fuck you, psycho!"]]
* LoveInterest: For Aaron.
* SacrificialLamb: [[spoiler: His death severely impacts Aaron's CharacterDevelopment]].
* SatelliteLoveInterest: His role in the comic centers almost solely around his relationship with Aaron, and he has very few conversations with other characters.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Attempts to do this after the Negan and the Saviors force Rick to submit, trying to convince Aaron that Alexandria is no longer safe and that they would be able to survive fine on their own. Aaron manages to convince him that they need to stay and help Rick keep the community together.
* StraightGay: Less so than Eric, but he still has virtually no stereotypical gay mannerisms.
* ThoseTwoGuys: He is almost always seen with Aaron.

->''"We were a naive, sheltered bunch of weaklings... most of us at least. Just waiting to get killed inside these walls. We had no idea how unsafe we were. That's why Douglas put Rick in charge-- and that's why I'm '''glad''' that we're taking steps to make this place safer-- things we '''never''' would have thought to do."''

Heath is a scavenger for the Safe-Zone. He was initially mistrustful of Rick, but quickly became loyal to him after his experience saved the Safe-Zone and made it safer. He is in a relationship with Doctor Denise Cloyd.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler: Most of his left leg is blown off by a grenade thrown by Negan during the Savior attack in Issue 120. By Issue 127 (which takes place two years after 126) he's gotten a prosthetic leg.]]
* {{Badass}}: He is a good shot and proficient in using melee weapons to kill zombies.
* BatterUp: Uses a baseball bat several times to kill zombies.
* BlackDudeDiesFirst: Averted and actually helps save his life. When he and a few other group members are captured by Negan and the Saviors, Negan passes Heath and Glenn over when he is looking to make an example of someone because he does not want to be thought of as a racist. Nearly subverted when Negan resorts to eenie meenie to pick his victim and choses [[spoiler:Glenn]].
* CharacterDevelopment: At first he was extremely weary of Rick and his group, but after seeing how their experiences allowed them to protect Alexandria and working closely with Glenn, Heath became extremely loyal to Rick and one of his main advisors.
* DreadlockWarrior
* AFriendInNeed: He goes on a dangerous scavenging run to get medicine for Scott, whose broken leg becomes infected. Unfortunately, the medicine doesn't help and Scott dies.
* LeParkour: One of the ways he navigates around Washington D.C. to look for supplies is by combining this with RoofHopping and [[BuildingSwing Building Swings]].
* LoveInterest: For Denise, who he got to know well after spending so much time at the medical building checking in on Scott.
* TheScrounger: Along with Scott, he is Alexandria's main supply runner. After Scott dies, Heath teams up with Glenn to scavenge.

Denise is one of the Safe-Zones three ([[spoiler:later two]]) doctors, and the only one who is a surgeon. She is in a relationship with Heath.
----
* TheChick
* DressedToHeal: She is normally seen dressed in a white doctors coat, even when she is not working.
* FlorenceNightingaleEffect: A slight variation: she doesn't fall in love with her patient Scott, instead entering into a relationship with his best friend Heath.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: Chooses to save Heath's life rather than amputate her own bitten arm, resulting in her death]].
* LoveInterest: For Heath, after spending time with him as she treated Scott.
* TheMedic: She is Alexandria's main doctor.
* SecretKeeper: She is the only one who know that Rick [[spoiler:left Jessie to die and cut off her hand to save Carl]] after he rambled about it in his grief over [[spoiler:Carl's injury and Jessie and Ron's death]].
* WhatTheHellHero: Out of all the Alexandria citizens, she is the one who gives Rick the most trouble after he submits to the Saviors after they take a significant portion of her major antibiotics and other drugs.
* YouthfulFreckles
* ZombieInfectee: [[spoiler: She is bitten by a zombiefied Holly in Issue 119. The bite is likely too far up on her arm to amputate, but she refuses to even try that because she needs two arms to treat Heath after his leg is blown off by a grenade. * BadassInDistress: [[spoiler: She is captured by the Saviors in Issue 116, and is nearly raped by David in Issue 117 before Negan kills him. In Issue 119, it's revealed that Negan either killed her or had her killed.]]
* BattleCouple: With Abraham.
* TheBigGirl
* BoyishShortHair
* GroinAttack: She has done this twice: the first time to Tobin after his defense strategy nearly got her killed by zombies, and the second time to [[spoiler:Rick so she could be the one to drive a truck through the gate to the Saviors main base]].
* HellBentForLeather: During the issues set in the wintertime, Holly wears a leather jackets frequently.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: She drives a truck through the gates of the Saviors sanctuary to let a herd of zombies trap them inside so the rest of the allied army can take out the outposts unhindered. This gets her captured and eventually killed by the Saviors, although she does say before she is killed that she doesn't care if they kill her since she knows she has hurt them and it would be nice to see Abraham again.]]
* KilledOffscreen: [[spoiler: She is murdered by the Saviors sometime between issue 117 and 119]].
* LadyMacbeth: She has been seen dropping hints to Abraham that maybe he should be the one in charge instead of Rick, [[spoiler:but ultimately nothing comes of it as Abraham is loyal to Rick and is killed by the Saviors]].
* MistakenIdentity: [[spoiler: After being captured by the Saviors, Negan thinks that he has [[IHaveYourWife captured Rick's lover]], and she is unable to convince him she is not.]]
* RescueRomance: With Abraham. It was a secret at first, but after Rosita discovers he is cheating their relationship comes out into the open.

-->'''Debut:''' Issue 70

Olivia is in charge of the Safe-Zone store house and keeping track of what supplies they have and who has it. She reluctantly participated in Nicholas attempted conspiracy, and backed down quickly once Rick intervened.
----
* ActionSurvivor: Despite having no discernible combat skills she's lasted over sixty issues so far and has outlived many characters who were much more badass than her.
* TheChick: Her role in Alexandria is mostly to be a calm and rational survivor who keeps track of some of the smaller details of running the community while also sometimes smoothing out conflicts.
* EasilyForgiven: For her part in Nicholas' conspiracy.
* FatGirl: Which is a bit odd, since food shortages are pretty common in the middle of a ZombieApocalypse. Negan finds it odd and makes jokes about the Alexandrians putting the one fat person in charge of keeping track of the food, which makes her start crying. Interestingly, she appears to have slimmed down some after the TimeSkip, even though food is more readily available with the new farms.
* TheGenericGirl: She doesn't have many characteristics beyond being somewhat overweight and nice. Most of her appearances revolve around her job, and even her motivations for joining Nicholas' conspiracy are not explored beyond a comment that she finds it weird that Rick is in charge.
* HiddenDepths: She has the courage to slap Negan after he propositions her for sex as a way to apologize for joking about her weight, which impresses him. Later she comments to Rosita that despite her weight, she still does good in the romance department.
* NiceGirl: She is one of the nicer and more stable people in Alexandria.

Tobin is the head of the Safe-Zone construction and security crew and one of the original inhabitants. He gave up his position to Abraham once he realized that he was not suited to leading and protecting people. [[spoiler:Eaten by zombies when the walls of the Safe-Zone were breached.]]
----
* TheAtoner: He allowed two people to die on his construction crew rather than try to rescue them during zombie attacks, and realized that it was actually possible to do so after Abraham saved Holly. This led to him having a breakdown and letting Abraham taking over his job as head of construction.
** RedemptionEqualsDeath: [[spoiler:He isn't really a villainous character since he thought he was doing the right thing, but after his actions cost some of his crew their lives he stays at a breach in the wall long enough for help to arrive. Unfortunately, by the time the others find him he is being messily devoured by the zombies.]]
* DirtyCoward: When he ran the construction crews, he would have the crew gather into a phalanx formation to fight the undead. If anyone could not get into the formation, Tobin would leave them to die, which led to the deaths of two people, and nearly got Holly killed.
* EatenAlive: [[spoiler: Gets eaten while defending a breach in the wall]].
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: Stayed at a breach in the wall so that Holly could run to get help to defend it, and got eaten in the process.]]
