* AdaptedOut: While this applies to Zahra as well as the initial Slayer's Take arc is skipped over, Kashaw in particular is hampered by it as much of the depth to his relationship with Keyleth is replaced with casual flirting[[note]]in the stream, Kashaw and Kayleth initially had a prickly relationship born from a mix of Kayleth's NoSocialSkills and Kash's withdrawn and aloof nature, but led to an OppositesAttract relationship[[/note]], and his [[RapeAsBackstory backstory]] and unique relationship with his patron Vesh, which makes his aloof nature more understandable, is completely cut out outside of some scars on his arm. Strangely, Vesh was an original creation of Critical Role, so unlike the Raven Queen, Vecna, or other gods, there was nothing stopping them from properly acknowledging her.

* {{Jerkass}}: '''Wow.''' Where to begin? From the top, Syldor is sneeringly racist and classist, abusive to his half-elf children, completely dismissive of Vox Machina and the draconic threat in general, and doesn't seem especially bothered by the idea of Vex possibly losing her life trying to earn his approval. Even compared to the Briarwoods, who at least have genuine love for each other balanced their actions with being classy and evidently being alright people at one point, and even compared to the Chroma Conclave, who are at least sinister and magnificent while being kaiju-level apocalyptic threats, Syldor is just a plain-out ''asshole.''
* WantsAPrizeForBasicDecency: Syldor verbally, emotionally and possibly even physically abused Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia all throughout their childhood (to the point where he's got a sick hold on Vex causing her to try appeasing and diffusing escalating arguments with him and Vax just to get some iota of approval and affection from Syldor even as a young adult). In the present day, he absolutely refuses to see that Vex and Vax could ever amount to anything heroic or even non-criminal in society and insults their friends when they stick up for them. Yet throughout all this he thinks that he deserves the utmost gratitude from his children, just for housing, feeding and giving them proper education [[spoiler: [[DeceasedParentsAreTheBest after their loving mother was killed in a dragon attack]]]] despite the fact that he constantly abuses and insults them for being half-elves and it's likely his enrolling the twins with their vast education was not at all to help them reach their full potential as intelligent, compassionate decent people and more [[ParentalNeglect to keep them out of his way by foisting the twins to various teachers to deal with them.]]

* DropTheHammer: Lady Kima carries around a large two-handed hammer as her personal weapon and uses it with her divine magic as well.

* AbusiveParents: Belittles his own children for being half-human.

* ExtremeDoorMat: [[DownPlayedTrope Devana possibly shows shades of this]] when it comes to Syldor's bullying of Vex'ahlia and Vax'ildan. [[spoiler: When Syldor coldly denies crediting Vex in the scroll that provides free passage through Syngorn as "Lady Vex'ahlia, Baroness Of The Third House Of Whitestone"]] implying that Vex doesn't deserve to be considered nobility on top of insulting Percy for suggesting this, causing Vex to finally [[CallingTheOldManOut stand up to Syldor]] about what a [[AbusiveParents bigoted, hard-hearted bully of a father]] he's been all their life. Devana stays absolutely silent when her husband dishes out more abuse to Vex but she ''doesn't stop'' Vex from speaking out ''nor'' does she defend his stance either. This could show that Devana ''probably hates'' how he treats the twins just as much as the twins do, but doesn't speak up out of fear.
