Been meaning to get rid of that ever since I saw in the manga that he gets transformed in all mediums, he just suffers it earlier in the anime.

* AdaptationalKarma: While he [[AnArmAndALeg definitely]] wasn't [[BreakTheHaughty a case]] of KarmaHoudini in the light novel and manga for massacring the citizens of Tempest, his punishment of being chained up in a cell to ruminate on his hubris was more CruelMercy compared to [[BodyHorror the fate]] of Rayhiem and Razen. When the time came for his captive appearance in the anime, while the whole "cell visit" incident was glossed over with Rimuru never personally checking on him, it's shown there in a quick scene that he was given the same horrifying transformation as his two surviving subordinates.

Originally, [[UnwittingPawn the plan]] would have called for him holding it for months if not even a few years, [[spoiler:but the Seven Luminaries getting involved and Diablo forcibly course-correcting]] speeds up the timetable significantly.
* TooDumbToLive: Seeing his older brother [[BreakTheHaughty utterly humbled]], knowing that the cream of the crop of Falmuth's army is gone, and learning first-hand that not only does Rimuru have the backing of the [[PersonOfMassDestruction Storm Dragon]], he's now a Demon Lord who earned that title by [[KlingonPromotion killing Clayman]] doesn't halt his ambitions to somehow turn the situation around on Tempest. Only the fact that he's an UnwittingPawn for Tempest itself in their plan to prevent Falmuth from ever being a threat to them again doesn't make the whole charade come down around him even faster.
* UnwittingPawn: His power-mongering was completely planned for by Rimuru and his allies in their plan to bring Falmuth to heel, knowing full well he would try to buck the war reparations and try to rally the nation to his cause to resist the Demon Lord and pin all the blame on Edmalis. [[spoiler:The only thing unexpected was the Seven Luminaries getting involved to help him, without his knowledge and for their own reasons of course, but Tempest and Diablo specifically course-correct things so well the plan actually progresses even faster than expected.]]

* GenderBender: Not by choice, but Kazaream was originally male before his old body was destroyed and he spent over a century as a spirit desperate to get a body back (to the point he was willing to summon and steal a compatible Otherworlder's body such as Yuuki's) before he settled on a homunculus body that happened to be female.
