* FailedASpotCheck: After James gets the Knowledge is power advantage, Jeanine become so paranoid that James would steal her idol that she gives it to Dwight. Unfortunately for her, she fails to consider that Dwight could be targeted for elimination, which causes her to lose her idol as Dwight was voted out with Jeanine's idol in his possession.

The sudden burst of initiative causes the other players to realize what he's up to and abandon him, leaving him with no allies just before he gets voted out.
* TurnCoat: He's this for Baka. Rather than joining the rest of his tribe in an attempt to remain strong, Sami instead ingratiates himself with Karla's alliance.

* YoungerThanTheyLook: Is 19, but tells people he is 22. It was only during the After Show when he finally told everyone the truth.

* ScrewTheMoneyIHaveRules: After winning the game, Gabler announces that he will be donating the entirety of the prize money to charity, specifically to help veterans in need.

* AchillesHeel: Despite being good socially and strategically, Jessie was belong average in most of the challenges. This ends up costing him the game when he fails at making fire.

* BlackDudeDiesFirst: While not the only minority race on the tribe, she is the only black person and is the first person voted out this season.

* OneHundredPercentAdorationRating: Everybody likes Gabler and wants to work with him. In the end, he nets all but one jury vote.

* HandicappedBadass: Downplayed, as her injury is not permanent or severe, but she still managed to win an immunity necklace in a challenge that required lifting despite being in pain due to a broken finger.

* YoungerThanTheyLook: Is 19, but tells people he is 22.

* JawDrop: Her mouth was completely open in shock over Elie's elimination and it stayed there while everyone else celebrated making it to the merge.

* BadassBookworm: Is a clinical pscyhologist with a 4.0 GPA in her Masters and Doctoral Courses. She also drives the votes in the season's first Tribal Council.

* LesbianJock: Karla occasionally mentions that she has a girlfriend back home, and is one of the season’s strongest challenge performers, despite sustaining multiple injuries.

** Realizing that he and Cody had been playing very similar games thanks to their tight-knit alliance, Jesse reasoned that he couldn't go into Final Tribal Council with Cody because his own gameplay would be overshadowed by Cody's flashier style and personality (especially if Cody pulled off his move of blindsiding Karla, giving his resume an even bigger boost). He also knew that he couldn't let Cody get to the Final 5 since he would use his immunity idol there by default. So he blindsided Cody at the Final 6 Tribal Council (using Cody's own idol that had been given to him for safekeeping on Owen, thereby scaring Karla into flushing her own idol on herself), getting rid of his closest ally in one of the biggest moves of the season.

* TookALevelInBadass: Started off behind but by second time they were sent to tribal council, they managed to get back in the game albeit by conspiring with the other team to get Coco sent to tribal council the first time.

* CheatersNeverProsper: Subverted. They haven't lost a member since the first episode and were helped by Vesi to finish the puzzle before Coco.

* DwindlingParty: Started off as easily the strongest team but now they are down to four members with Vesi. The remaining four however started to regain their composure after the merge by narrowly surviving the first two tribal councils at the merge.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Both Cassidy and Karla are not only the last two remaining tribe members from Coco but also the last two women remaining in the game after Noelle’s elimination. Because of this it is guaranteed that the last woman left in this game will be from Coco if either Karla or Cassidy get voted out.
