* CruelAndUnusualDeath: During the beginning of the fight, the first thing they do is to take away Lü Bu's polearm to disarm then kill him easily. However, this way forces Lü Bu to use his superhuman strength instead, which ends with all the members of the Vessels meeting their end in gruesome and nightmarish ways that would have been avoided if they would have just be sliced or stabbed with the halberd.

* Hypocrite: For all his talk during his youth about wanting to create a just, unified country, in his adulthood he's no different from the rulers he despised, being a ruthless tyrant who kills people just cause they annoy him or starting a civil war who caused thousands of casualties. If this is an example of MotifDecay or if he's just not aware of his hypocrisy is never made clear.

Added DiffLines:

* OlderThanTheyLook: He's older than 50 by the time of The Legend of Lü Bu, yet he looks at the very least in his 30s.

Added DiffLines:

* RedBaron: In the story, he's known as "The Demon" due his endless cruelty. Characters who interact with him see him as an imposing, horned demonic creature, quite like how people see Lü Bu as a dragon.

Added DiffLines:

* YoungerThanTheyLook: At age 14 he looked like if he was at least in his early to mid 20s.

Added DiffLines:

* AmbiguouslyHuman: Like Dong Zhuo, they have barely changed in 50 years, with Nab and Shamash being the only members of the group to show some signs of aging (and not enough for the time that happened between Dong Zhuo's flashback and the Three Kingdoms period), bringing into question how they managed to remain young being mere humans.
* CombatTentacles: Nergal uses six, long skeletal tentacles he uses to impale or restraint his enemies.
* CuteAndPsycho: Nab looks like a young child, but he's way very eager to slay his enemies in brutal ways.
* GenderBlenderName: The clearly male Ishtar is named after the Sumerian Goddess of Fertility.
* HandicappedBadass: Ishtar lacks a left arm, putting his crossbow in the place of his stump and being incredibly deadly despite being one-armed.
* InTheHood: Nergal is entirely covered by a black hood that completely covers his body.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Nab's weapon is a huge shield way bigger in size than him that he can both use to defend and to attack by releasing many spikes from its surface.

Added DiffLines:

* OlderThanTheyLook: They have barely aged since the time they were in the Keigai, looking exactly like they looked 50 years ago (except for Shamash and Nab, who look slightly older).
* RingsOfDeath: Sin's WeaponOfChoice is a huge chakram he uses to slices his enemies to pieces.

Added DiffLines:

* BaitTheDog: In his flashback, just after having a PetTheDog moment giving food to a starving kid, he then gives a young girl he captured in the city of some Chinese lord to an old man in exchange for a book written by Sun Tzu, showing that despite helping the kid moments ago, he's still a bastard.

Added DiffLines:

If this is an example of MotifDecay or if he's just not aware of his hypocrisy is never made clear.

Added DiffLines:

* MightMakesRight: He's a firm believer of this, expressing disgust at the current kings and emperors of the world for being corrupt, weak and incompetent rulers thata re only in their position due their lineage, rather than due their talent or strength. Strangely enough, his worldmap also includes the Americas and Oceania, despite those continents being discovered centuries later after his death.

Added DiffLines:

* TakingOverTheWorld: His endgame consists in conquering the whole world to unify everything into a single country ruled by strong and capable people, deciding to start with China.

Added DiffLines:

* WellIntentionedExtremist: At the very least, his attempts to conquer the world are done with the intention to make it a better place where competent people can rule an unified nation with no discrimination. Unfortunately, to achieve that, Dong Zhuo is willing to commit lots of atrocities and kill thousands of people.

* AdaptationalHeroism: In the original Genesis account, Eve was tempted by the Serpent and eat from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge herself, originating the Original Sin. Furthermore, when the minister Wang Yun tries to assassinate him, the overwhelming presence of Dong Zhuo ages him up in seconds, implying Dong Zhuo can steal the life of others to remain young.
* BadBoss: Zigzagged. He has little patience for annoying subordinates, as seen when he casually murders a bootlicker official for not shutting up or when is revealed he killed his assistant Wu Qiong for pestering him. On the other hand, he genuinely appreciates his friends from the 7 Vessels of Uruk and is seen upset when Lü Bu kills them one after another.

* AntiHero: While Lü Bu fights for the sake of humans, his behaviour is far from the traditional image of a hero. He doesn't has problem massacring people in horrible ways, adores fighting strong enemies and even his reason to fight in Ragnarok is to find an opponent that can match to his might, rather than to save mankind. As such, even if he's not as bad as Jack the Ripper (being more indifferent and only killing people in the battlefield rather than being actively malicious), he's not as benevolent as Adam or Kojiro.

Furthermore, his spin-off shows that he doesn't has qualms serving a brutal tyrant like Dong Zhuo if that means he can fight strong opponents.

* BadassBaritone: The anime gives him a fittingly deep and raspy voice that goes handy with his muscular physique and fierce aspect.

good!]]". In life, he came to consider Sun Jian, Dong Zhuo and Red Hare worthy adversaries too, as, even though they still were beneath his league, they were the closest of beings able to make him get serious even if for only a few seconds.

Added DiffLines:

* VillainProtagonist: He's this for a period of time in his own spin-off. He serves the tyrant Dong Zhuo as one of his enforcers and kills a sizeable quantity of good men who tried to liberate China from the claws of the tyrant. This contrast with Sun Jian, who fulfills the role of HeroAntagonist in the fight he and Lü Bu held.

Added DiffLines:

* TheCameo: During the battle of Lü Bu against Sun Jian in the former's spin-off, the narration briefly shows images of Thor and Lü Bu about to clash during the first round of Ragnarok, mentioning that by that time, Lü Bu had managed to succesfully complete his Sky Eater technique, who was still incompleted during his fight against Sun Jian.

Added DiffLines:

* TheCameo: He shows up briefly in Lü Bu's spin-off, where the narration mentions he would eventually complete Sun Jian's sword technique with his Niten-Ichi-Ryu swordsmanship style.

* CurbstompBattle: So far, his battle with has been this, dodging and blocking and countering each and every single attack with absolutely no effort whatsoever.

* WildCard: He's this for the gods. He's enlisted as a fighter representing them, but his allegiance is shaky at best, with him having helping the valkyries and humans by teaching them how to do the Volund ritual and only having respect for himself. spoiler: Even Zeus lets him to do whatever he wants, opting for not taking offense for his irreverent actions and let him leave the encounter with Loki and the Seven Lucky Gods unscathed than trying to punish him for being a supposed traitor. He finally reveals his allegiance in the sixth round, entering as the Gods' representative before walking over to the other side of the arena and stating that he is going to fight for humanity.

Figured out that, just like with Red Hare and Lü Bu, it would be a good idea to give a section to these guys inside Odin's folder.

* MouthOfSauron: Odin himself almost never speaks, preferring to communicate through his ravens, Huginn and Muninn. He's only been seen speaking in matters involving the other Norse gods, such as addressing Thor before his fight or breaking up the brawl between Loki, the Seven Lucky Gods and Buddha.

* TheQuietOne: He barely says anything, and instead lets his crows talk for him.
