Cabbie [=McHale=] is a veteran of the Korean War, even sporting a faded USAF military tattoo, and he is big enough to carry the entire smokejumper team. Cabbie had a really distinguished military career but doesn't talk about it too much. He's proud of it, he did his time, and now he's serving Piston Peak National Park as a firefighter. As the leader of the Piston Peak air attack team, Blade Ranger is demanding, but he's the best at what he does and expects nothing less from his team.
