One of the original Kestrels, Sausage is the ''de facto'' leader of the faction and the nephew of Capitán Santana (alias "Captain Graybeard"), an esteemed Kestrel in his own right.[[note]]Jellie the cat is appointed the leader upon her arrival, but the point stands.[[/note]] However, after taking on a quest that results in him getting cursed, Sausage starts hearing strange Whispers that no one else can hear, with doom pending for those in his path.

* AllWomenLoveShoes: Alluded to in her first appearances; Shelby explicitly mentions her expensive boots are new in her debut appearance, saying she didn't intend to wear them in the water, and later claims them to be ruined after taking a swim in the ocean on Day 57.

* ExtraExtraReadAllAboutIt: Quoted this on the job, and still occasionally [[BusmansVocabulary slips into this]] while passing on messages on the Faction Isles; a few characters have questioned her having a newsboy voice because of these slip-ups, but those that do are usually be endeared by it.

* AmbiguouslyBi: Sausage is almost definitely attracted to women, having gone on dates or at least asked out Alison, the NPC Kestrel leader, and the Enchantress, as well as [[spoiler:the [[https://www.twitter.com/Mythicalsausage/status/1775591256246112292 post-canon description]] of him having his petrified arm "polished every night by a new maiden" he meets on his travels; however, whatever he has going on with most of the other Kestrel players (a faction that skews heavily masculine) and Scott is riddled with innuendo and thus sounds downright homoerotic. It's also strongly hinted from one of his younger brother's throwaway comments that the ambition part might have been at least partially drilled into his mind from childhood, and being on the better-treated end of ParentalFavoritism also means he's receiving the full brunt of parental ''expectations'', with all the [[WellDoneSonGuy mental health issues]] that may entail... and that's not getting started on the TraumaCongaLine he's dragged on for the last quarter of the series.
