While she was friends with both Lynn and Blake, Blake is the one who feels personally responsible for her death, to the point that it continues to affect him even into adulthood. His guilt gets so bad that by the mines, he mixes up Jess and Lynn's names and begins referring to Lynn ''as'' Jess.
* MissingMom: An email in the school states her mother had died.
