* BumblingDad: He rivals Homer Simpson himself for the poster boy of his trope. He has crazy plans for his family which end in disaster and doesn't necessarily make the smartest decisions when fixing them.Funny enough, much of his bumbling comes from the opposite type of issue Homer has; whereas much of the Simpsons family patriarch's ultimately stems from his laziness and gluttony, Clark's bumbling comes from the fact that he lets himself become a doormat while maintaining a cheery facade, despite (or often because) of him being hell-bent on achieving what he sets out to accomplish, come hell or high water, only to ultimately snap when he's gotten too far over his head to proceed any further. And like Homer, his family still loves and supports him, despite the obvious dysfunction between them.
