* AchillesHeel: Durability. Kong ''is'' MadeOfIron and can take quite a few nasty hits in a fight, but unlike other Titans, he doesn't have any standout natural advantages like claws or hardened exoskeletons to attack or defend himself with. Kong's intelligence allows him to make [[ImprovisedWeapon creative use of his environment]] to overcome the former, but all three films have at least one moment wherein Kong gets badly injured to showcase his underlying vulnerability.
** In ''Skull Island'', Kong getting his palms sliced up by the helicopter rotors of the Sky Devils during their initial "fight" with him causes him to leave a bloody handprint on a mountainside, which [[NotSoInvincibleAfterAll signifies]] to Packard that despite his intimidating size and ferocity, the giant ape ''can'' be killed with the right tools.
** In ''Kong Vs Godzilla'', the main advantage Kong's new axe grants him isn't an increase to his attack strength, but as a ''defensive'' option instead, as the axe blade can absorb Godzilla's Atomic Breath, which was a OneHitKO otherwise that Kong noticeably had to be cautious of, with its presence making their second fight much more even. [[spoiler:Even then, once Godzilla has had enough, he tears into Kong close-range with his claws and fangs, mauling him where he cannot dodge or defend properly and securing a second decisive victory against the giant ape, the injuries bad enough to leave lasting scars by ''The New Empire'']].
** In ''The New Empire'', Kong gets badly mauled by [[spoiler:Shimo's]] ice breath, overcoming even his axe as a defensive option and leaving him with near-crippling frostbite. It requires him to get the B.E.A.S.T. augmentation to fix the damage, and even when equipped, the PowerFist's main advantage isn't that it allows Kong to unleash [[MegatonPunch one whopper of a punch]], but that it's [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe the most defensive piece of gear he has]], allowing him to later endure the same attack for a prolonged period during the climatic fighting, [[spoiler:and even hold off the same mauling from Godzilla that defeated him the last time]].

He's appeared in three out of the five films and in the animated television series, and is firmly identified as being humanity's protector in contrast to Godzilla's role as protector of the world itself.

* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: He's unmistakably a powerful Titan but compared to the likes of Godzilla, there's an obvious power gap. Aside from being outmatched [[spoiler:he faired surprisingly better during his rematch with Godzilla in Cairo, after failing to get him to cooperate, he decidedly fights back by going all out where he starts pummeling the tar out of him to the point where he had him floored and brutally pummels him with repeated punches. Along with his colossal strength and a full-powered B.E.A.S.T. Glove fist, he delivers a devastating punch to the King of the Monsters that absolutely leaves him in the ground lying on the ground outright dazed from the blow. Keep in mind that Godzilla is in his Evolved Form rather than his previous form, which makes this an impressive feat for Kong to achieve on his own.]]

* AnimalsLackAttributes: Kong has no nipples, and even more so with the bits below. He does have prominent human-like buttocks though. It could be handwaved as him being a Titan, and therefore a completely different form of life to anything on Earth's surface which only happens to ''look and act'' like a species of ape. Subverted Kong actually does have nipples, they just happen to be very and blend in with the rest of his skin.

** Kong's always been a badass, but in both the original movie and the Peter Jackson remake, he was taken out by biplanes. In ''Kong: Skull Island'', he easily takes on a squadron of attack helicopters, largely because this incarnation of Kong is a lot bigger than [[Film/KingKongVsGodzilla almost]] any previous version -- and that's ''before'' he's even reached his adult size.
** By ''Godzilla vs. Kong'', we see him fully grown and he dwarfs his Toho incarnation.
