* AwesomeButImpractical: The Advance gives Ohma a massive boost in speed that allows him overwhelm his opponents. However, a figment of Niko had once stated that it’s most effective against fighters who are weaker than Ohma such as Inaba. Even though it's allowed him to go toe to toe with the much more durable Jun Sekibiyashi to where he can defeat him with the technique and even macth Raian Kure at 100% of his Removal, as they were durable enough to tank his most of his strikes but obtain significant damage after the usage. Though due to the effects of the Advance he is usually forced to use other methods to bring down his opponents. [[spoiler: And that’s not even getting into the fact that it’s slowly killing him.]]

* MeaningfulName: Ohma Tokita can be translated as “Witching Hour”, Kazuo remarks that even Ohma’s name is strong and links to the fact that before the Kengan Matches, Ohma wandered late at nights looking for a challenge.
** More accurately, "Witching Hour" in Japanese is "ouma ga toki", but it sounded similar enough to Kazuo.

As seen even in it’s first use in the story, the technique by itself is can bring down opponents stronger, sturdier, or more skilled opponents it is just incredibly difficult as he has to output more damage than usual with his rotational strength to the point of overusing body beyond it's normal limits. * ButtMonkey: Kazuo just can't get a break. He is, all intents and purposes, dragged in the tournament by Nogi’s schemes, and unable to back out of it. Not only because he gets set up to make sure that he can’t, but even when he tries to say no and make a decision on his own Ohma butts in and makes it for him. And it’s always the exact opposite of what Kazuo wants.

!!! '''Voiced by:''' Creator/YuichiNagashima (JP), Creator/KeithSilverstein (EN), Creator/CarlosSegundo (LA)
!!!'''Age:''' 56
A beleaguered and passive salary-man. He encounters Ohma in the streets of Tokyo one night, and later becomes his "handler" of sorts, looking after him in-between Kengan bouts.

While he is extremely skittish and put-upon, experiencing the unbelievable sights of the Kengan Association battles awakens something within him...
----
* AscendedFanboy: In a unique sense. He witnesses Ohma in a back alley brawl and is so impressed with the young fighter that he feels an overwhelming wave of respect and awe. He even compares his sense of pride when watching Ohma fight to the love a father has for his son. The next day he gets assigned to be his new idol's assistant and manager, though from here forward he feels more fear and anxiety than fanaticism.
** In another fashion, he mentions that he's an avid fan of combat sports, enough to recognize a famous kickboxer out of context. Now he has an active role and front row seat for the most brutal martial arts competition in the world.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: He's not as silly as he seems. He's incredibly good at gauging an individual's strength. As seen in the " Preliminaries " Arc, where every fighter he perceived to win would win.
* CharacterDevelopment: Yamashita was just a meek and lousy SalaryMan with an estranged relationship with his wife and two sons, he passiveness towards everything meant that he was pushed around for most of his life. Then he met Ohma Tokita, who helped [[GrewASpine Yamashita grow out of his meekness and stand up for himself]] even going so far as to [[spoiler: refuse Nogi's offer of giving up the tournament because he had come to respect Ohma's skill and bravery]].
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He looks like (and for the most part really just is) your average salaryman, but at least by ''Omega'' he’s [[spoiler: hiding an aura strong enough to make ''Ryuki'' cautious of him.]]
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: Records Kure Erioh threatening to kill him and then tells him off to his face to ensure his son's safety. Erioh is so impressed by Yamashita's sheer balls that he rescinds the order on Kenzos life and favorably compares him to Metsudo.
* GoodParents: While his bumbling and lack of confidence results in both his kids falling in with bad crowds, he still cares for them immensely and gets back on speaking terms with both Yasuo and Kenzo with just a bit of help from Ohma.
* HiddenDepths: His incredible eyesight turns out to be much more than a fluke. The relationships he has with his estranged sons is also much closer than it initially appears to be.
* LegendaryInTheSequel: Come ''Omega,'' people are lining up to give their business cards. He's a very respected figure.
* LikeASonToMe: His relationship to Ohma steadily evolves into this, [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] when he thinks to himself that Ohma is young enough to be his son and is one of the key reasons why he thought about dropping out of the tournament.
* MistakenForBadass: People seem to think he's much more intimidating than he really is. [[spoiler: Over the course of the story, it's revealed he's a badass in a very different way, being an incredible analyst.]]
* ObfuscatingStupidity: A trait he developed in Kengan Omega to hide his increased perceptiveness. [[spoiler: He realized that Gaoh was about to finish off Utsubuki after defeating him, so he cheerfully made him a fighter to stop Gaoh and save Utsubuki’s life.]]
* SalaryMan: His look, as well as his profession at the start of the series before being pulled into the Kengan Association full time. [[spoiler: He quits his job to properly create Yamashita Trading Co in the epilogue.]]
* SeenItAll: In ''Kengan Omega'', he comes off as this, adapting well to his role in the Kengan Association and not showing the same OhCrap reactions that he did in Asura. [[spoiler: He has a massive OhCrap when Nogi puts him in charge of creating a team for a tournament between the Kengan Association and its main rival Purgatory, where the winner would merge with and take over the other association.]]

[[caption-width-right:321:''"So? You wanna fight, too?''"]]
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/TatsuhisaSuzuki (JP) Creator/KaijiTang (EN)
!!!'''Age:''' Late 20s
The protagonist of ''Ashura''. At the beginning of the series, Ohma wanders the streets of Tokyo, fighting whoever challenges him. He's eventually picked up by the Nogi Group as their representative in the Kengan Association, and he begins to bond with Kazuo as a result.

Ohma uses the "Niko Style", a very recent martial art that basically acts as a value package of useful techniques and tricks that's supposed to be easy to learn and hard to master. His techniques are divided into four categories: Water Katas which are primarily grabs and soft locks, Flame Katas which is mostly footwork and movement tools to take advantage of momentum, Redirection Katas which involves throws and moves to send enemy attacks off course, and Adamantine Katas, which encompasses striking techniques and clenching muscles to ward off attacks. He also has the ability to "overclock" his heart, allowing him to achieve superhuman speed and strength at the cost of damaging his body and brain.
----
* AGoodWayToDie: [[spoiler: Strongly invoked when finally succumbing to his wounds and over usage of the "Advance". When all is said and done, Ohma dies watching the sunset into night, at peace having been able to fight many strong opponents and avenging his Master's death in his own way.]]
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: [[spoiler: Downplayed as Ohma doesn’t let it interfere with his life, but in the Netflix adaptation his reasons for relying on the Advance over the Niko Style was due to misplaced anger and grief about how the Niko Style didn’t save Niko from getting killed. He gets over it during his fight with Raian.]]
* AmnesiacHero: A strange case, he remembers most of his life just fine, however a lot of his techniques seem to have been lost, a side effect of using the "Advance", which causes memory loss and hallucination's hell he doesn't even know what the Advance's real name is. [[spoiler: His match with Raian helps regain it though.]]
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Ohma is extremely arrogant and provokes all of his opponents, although it isn’t unprovoked as many of his opponents are of the same braggart clause. Despite this, Ohma is often a lot less aggressive to those who support him, especially his manager. As the story develops, Ohma loses a lot of his edge, and he becomes mire respectful towards his opponents. [[spoiler: This may have something to do with him knowing he's going to die, and being unafraid to do so.]]
* BadassBaritone: Ohma has a deep voice in both the english and especially Japanese dubs.
* BerserkButton: Never speak of the name of his late master Niko Tokita in vain, especially right in front of him. Part of the reason why he's so excited for the Annihilation Tournament is because he wants to deal with the killer himself as he feels they disrespected his honor for years.
* TheBerserker: When he activates his secret technique [[SuperMode the Advance[=/=] Possessing Spirit]] and gets his blood boiling, he fights way more aggressively than usual and is compared to a wild animal in this state of mind while sporting a [[SlasherSmile savage grin on his face]] showing his mind being completely taken over by his love for fighting.
* BloodKnight: Ohma eats, breaths and shits fighting, to the point where it seems to be more or less the only thing he likes to do (besides eating). [[spoiler: Even when his fights with Wakatsuki and then Gensai have him one-and-a-half foot in the grave and covered in his own blood and gore, it's clear that he's still enjoying himself immensely.]]
* CastFromLifespan: His "Advance" technique boosts his physical attributes considerably at the cost of doing massive internal damage.
* CharacterDevelopment: [[spoiler: His brief coma and pushing himself to the brink against Raian awakens the parts of his memories that were sealed away, causing him to become much more composed and mature for the last few days of his life. The friends he's made at that point think he's simply mellowed out, but it's clear that Ohma's just satisfied with how far he's come and that he's avenged his master's death in his own way and fine with dying at that point.]]
* ChickMagnet: A flock of women started crowding him at a casino (he says he had no idea why). Karla fell for him at first sight, Shion Soryuin finds him attractive even when he's manhandling her, and Togawa Yoshiko became enamored with him based on an utter misunderstanding from ''one reply'' to her.
* TheComicallySerious: Ohma is TheStoic outside of fighting. By then his deadpan expressions lend to most of the humor involving him.
** Every time he's running from Karla, he's shot with a serious expression.
* CounterAttack: What the Niko Style is all about.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Ohma grew up an unnamed orphan in a lawless, fictional district of Japan until he was taken in by his master.
* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: While not quite as impressive as [[spoiler:Gensai DEFEATING Agito]], practically nobody expected the relative newcomer Ohma to defeat [[spoiler:Wakatsuki, considered by many to be the favorite in actually beating Agito]].
%%* FaceDeathWithDignity
* FullNameBasis: Ohma is illiterate and so he is shown to use people's full name in katakana, assuming he knows or remembers their name at all. As an example, he addresses Kanoh Agito (加納 アギト) as "Kanohagito" (カノハギト)
* TheHeroDies: [[spoiler: Not only does he die, but he does so without winning the tournament, as Kuroki Gensai thoroughly crushes him even with repeated use of the Advance.]]
* HonorBeforeReason: He squashes a bet Kazuo won against Urita for Ohma's match against Inaba. [[note]] 10 percent of Penasonic's shares, which would have made Kazuo rich and cleared his debt. [[/note]]. He shuns Urita for making such a deal behind his and Inaba's backs, and states that Kazuo shares his opinion (he doesn't).
* HulkingOut: When the use of Advance is in place Ohma's vascularity is increased making him appear to be more muscular than what he is.
* LegendaryInTheSequel: He is considered a "legend class fighter" in the Kengan Association after the Tournament. It is enough that when [[{{SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute}} Ryuki]] makes his debut and is mistaken for Ohma, everyone collectively shits their pants at the thought of seeing him fight.
%%* JerkWithAHeartOfGold
* LightningBruiser: Ohma hits hard and moves '''even faster''', the guy can even take a beating from professional wrestler Jun Sekibayashi and still get back up to use his DangerousForbiddenTechnique to finish the job.
* MadeOfIron: Besides being able to take a lot of punishment, one branch of his Niko Style Martial arts is the Adamantine Kata, that focuses on hardening the body.
* MessyHair: His hair is frequently compared to a mass of seaweed on his head. Rihito once indirectly called him "Kelp-thulu, the dark haired one".
* NoSocialSkills
* NotSoStoic: He normally has zero reaction to anything around him outside of fighting. That said, he is the ''most'' caught off guard by Karla's... [[{{Understatement}} open]] desire have his children than anyone else around him.
** Even Ohma can’t help but be surprised by the sight of Chiba Takayuki seemingly changing size in a cloak.
* RedBaron: "The Asura"
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: When faced with Karla and her antics, he decided that the best course of action in dealing with her is to leg it.
* SlasherSmile: He does this a lot during challenging fights. It's damn near terrifying when he's in this state.
* TheStoic: Give him a fight or even just talk to him about fighting and he’ll be grinning like a kid at a candy store. Otherwise good luck trying to get him to react to anything.
* StrongAndSkilled: Ohma is an extremely skilled martial artist who's been fighting more or less from the moment he could stand up, augmenting his skills with the instincts he's built from such a rough childhood. While he's not even close to being the physically strongest fighter in the series, he can still crumble boulders and punch holes in sheer cliff walls, and that's before he uses his Advance.
* SuperMode: The Advance[=/=][[spoiler: Possessing Spirit]], an ability forced onto him by the "Real" Niko made to combat the Kure Clan's Removal. By overclocking his heart to beat several times faster than normal, Ohma's able to move at near-superhuman speeds, the momentum of which also means that his attacks become significantly stronger. Unfortunately, Ohma isn't able to control how fast he makes his heart go, making it more of a ClippedWingAngel against strong enough opponents because the massively increased bloodflow disorientates his brain and makes using a majority of the Niko Style impossible. [[spoiler: He figures out how to control it by the finals of the tournament, but by that point he's more or less dead on his feet and the Advance barely makes a difference against [[ImplacableMan Kuroki Gensai]].]]
* SuperNotDrowningSkills: He can shadow-box under water for ''eight minutes'' at a time, '''repeatedly'''.
* SuperReflexes: Ohma seems to have enhanced reflexes that help him greatly with his Redirection Katas.
* SuperStrength: His strength is greatly increased when he uses the Advance as shown when punches through hard exteriors and can easily crush someones bones with a few hits. This could also play into his Adamantine Katas which can increase his striking power tenfold.
* SuperSpeed: With his Flame Katas he can outmatch anyone with his quick footwork.
* SuperToughness: He can harden his body with the Adamantine Katas which makes his body as tough as steel.
* TookALevelInKindness: In the final days of the tournament [[spoiler: and his life]], Ohma becomes more relaxed, open and less aggressive, to the point where you could even call him a NiceGuy. He also mends bridges with people he had more difficultly with at the start, casually speaking with Hatsumi and helping train him for his fight with [[spoiler: Agito]], despite his initial animosity towards him. He's also capable of ''talking'' to [[SingleTargetSexuality Karla]] with out any trouble, where before he would immediately run and hide from her on sight. Even he lampshades this trope.
* TurnsRed: When using the Advance.
* WorthyOpponent: It's the only way Ohma remembers his opponent's name. Otherwise, if they didn't put up a strong enough fight he often forgets their name the minute the fight ends.
* YourDaysAreNumbered: [[spoiler: Over use of his "Advance" technique have damaged Ohma's heart to the point that after the second round of the tournament, he is given only days to live.]]

[[folder:Koga Narushima]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/narushima_koga.png]]
One of the two main protagonists of ''Omega.'' A young delinquent and dojo crusher with a history with Ohma.
----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Oh Boy. In chapter 0 of Kengan Omega, he apparently has a terrible reputation of going from martial-arts school to martial-arts school, just to beat up everyone there and tell them that their martial arts is shit.
** He has began to lose this after a long, long streak of being the ButtMonkey, taking up learning Pro Wrestling endurance training from Sekibayashi.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Prior to working for Kazuo, Koga was ostracized by others for constantly getting into fights. However, Kazuo treats him with friendliness and respect despite his love for fighting to the point where he [[spoiler: abandons his decision to join Purgatory after Kazuo told him he believed he could get strong enough to participate in the fight against Purgatory.]]
* BerserkButton: Being called/feeling weak and losing fights. He goes from calm and cordial to violently angry when either happens. His entire motivation for finding Ohma is because he was both beaten and called weak 3 years ago.
* BloodKnight: Downplayed and subverted. His initial motivations for becoming a Kengan fighter was to participate in life-and-death battles where he could use any means to defeat his opponents. [[spoiler:However, Koga draws the line when it comes to killing as he was terrified and horrified when he walked in on Ryuki after he graphically murdered a member of Worm.]]
* BoisterousWeakling: Downplayed, as he is more than capable of crushing whole dojos, and would probably do very well in public martial arts. However, compared to the standard fighter of the Kengan Association, he wouldn't stand a chance. Only after months of tutolage under other Kengan fighters and other incredible fighters does Koga become able to beat an active fighter.
* BoringButPractical: After training with his uncle Joji, he develops a FinishingMove. It's a crescent kick to the liver. Compared to every other fighter so far, it seems very average, but he can do it again and again without any strain and can drop a 2 metre tall opponent with it.
** In fact, he is developing other finishing moves so he's not just reliant on one. So far he has the crescent kick to a level where it's reliable, and is developing a Brazilian Kick, a kick that feints low then goes to the head. When combined, his opponent is left guessing which one he is going to use.
* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler: Ryuki has become this to Koga after he found out he killed someone and has no remorse, seeing it as no different than killing an insect. At this point, he understandably no longer wants anything to do with him.]]
* ButtMonkey: Nothing has gone right for him since he has gotten involved with the Yamashita Trading Co. He has been brushed off, had the shit beaten out of him, and made to look like a complete chump by other fighters at every opportunity. While he often brings it on himself by being cocky, he’s humiliated frequently enough that it’s as if the universe itself has it out for him.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Just about the only thing he shares with Ohma is a desire for strength. Not only does he start off much weaker than Ohma did, but he’s overall more of a normal and well-adjusted person. His hair is even the opposite color.
* DumbMuscle: Downplayed. When told that Kushida was working in Egypt, he had no idea where that was.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: His grandfather sent him to learn Karate in the hope that he would learn morality. Instead it grew his longing for overwhelming violence and power and made him fall further into delinquency.
* HairTriggerTemper: He loses his cool and becomes violent over any perceived slight or any of his [[{{BerserkButton}} Berserk Buttons]] being pressed. This has been a problem since childhood.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He is an ArrogantKungFuGuy with a HairTriggerTemper who goes around crushing dojos and beating people up, but is otherwise relatively polite and good at heart. When he first visits Yamashita Trading Co. He mistakes Kazuo as the janitor, and gives him money to buy himself something nice, though that money was stolen.
** This is also clearly shown when he challenges Utsubuki Kokuro for the right to fight in the upcoming Kengan match. He calls him out in an alleyway, insults Utsubuki's opponents, and proceeds to attack him. After the fight, Utsubuki notes that there were all sorts of improvised weapons he could have used, but didn't, concluding that he is a good guy at heart.
* MadeOfIron: Downplayed, but he walked out of the hospital after losing to Utusbuki in spite of being close to dying.
* SoreLoser: Big Time. Why does he have a grudge against Ohma? Because he was beaten in a fight and called weak 3 years ago. Why does he want to fight Ryuki in the Kengan Match? Because he was called weak. What is his reaction after being beaten by Utsubuki, who called him an ambulance? Completely trash the hospital room.
* UnknownRival: He is this to Ohma. In chapter 0, he decides to seek out the Kengan Association after seeing a picture of Ohma. The reason; Ohma beat him and his posse 3 years ago when he picked a fight with him. This later extends to Ryuki, based off of his appearance.
* UngratefulBastard: What does he do after being healed by hospital staff after almost being killed by Utsubuki? Completely trash the hospital room, breaking the bed and smashing the windows.
* UnlockingTheTalent: His training with Sekibayashi and with Gaoh is meant to be this. Its clear that he has talent, but has never bothered to refine it. He outdoes other pro wrestlers in endurance training and is noted to have the basis of a great fighter, but lacks a certain aspect to his style. The most noticeable demonstration is when he manages to tag Ryuki in a Gaoh style fundamental footwork exercise after 90 attempts, who was not trying to let him win. He later learns how to ice skate in seconds and how to withstand blows while ice skating without losing his balance in just an hour, something that surprised Adam Dudley as he thought it would take him longer to learn.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: After constantly getting outperformed by Gaoh, Utsubuki, Himuro, and Sekibayashi, [[spoiler: Koga considers joining Purgatory to sharpen his fighting skills. However, [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe Kazuo telling him that he believes that Koga could earn a spot as a fighter inspires him to to work harder to become a Kengan fighter.]]]]

[[/folder]]
[[folder:Ryuki Gaoh]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gaoh_ryuki.png]]
One of the two main protagonists of ''Omega.'' He is the Grandson of Gaoh Mukaku and fights using the Gaoh Style.
----
* BerserkButton: The mere mention of the word "Worm" sets him off. Narushima referring to himself as a worm (in the sense that he is weak) was enough to set Ryuki off and threaten to kill him. This likely has to do with Gu, or Worm, the organization that pursued Ohma and are otherwise responsible for a massive amount of the story's more negative events.
** After befriending [[OnlyFriend Koga]], Ryuki becomes enraged whenever someone hurts his friend. His reaction when [[spoiler: Yumigahara purposely injured a defenseless Koga was to react in [[TranquilFury shock and barely restrained homicidal rage.]]]]
* CloudCuckooLander: His other trait aside from having NoSocialSkills is that he is an airhead. Before his first match against Utsubuki, he was more concerned about the strength of the air conditioning of the arena than the fact that he was about to fight. This is later shown to be a problem, with him lacking a conscience about killing people.
** In spite of being told that Ohma is "no longer with us" and having a whole room of people, mistaking him as Ohma, telling him that they thought he had died, he still has no idea what they are talking about, and still wants to meet Ohma in person.
* FatalFlaw: Many fighters have commented that the Gaoh style won't get him anywhere in the Kengan Matches. [[spoiler: It's because the style is based on surprise attacks that, once seen, can be countered by fighters. It may have been suitable for ancient Japan or the Inside where the opponent is killed, but is wholly unsuited for fighting in a tournament.]]
* HiddenDepths: Metsudo, Kaede and Narushima get the feeling that he has killed people before and is a dangerous person. He also goes from airhead to murderous when the "Worms" were mentioned. It has also been revealed that like Ohma, he grew up in The Inside.
** The former is shown to be the case after his win against Utsubuki, where he goes to finish him off out of habit, and needs to be stopped by Yamashita before he can do so. It was later revealed that he has only fought battles to the death before his match with Utsubuki.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: [[spoiler:Because his Gaoh style is based around surprise attacks, he was forbidden by his grandfather from using anything except Earth-Crouching Dragon in public. However, Ryuji is willing to use other techniques from the Gaoh Style against powerful opponents like Akoya Seishu.]]
* LackOfEmpathy: He has a severe lack of conscience when it comes to killing people because of his upbringing. Notably, he agrees to not kill anyone in the Kengan Matches because the rules say so, and not because of any conscience telling him it's wrong.
** He develops more empathy by becoming friends with Koga and forms bonds with the other members of Yamashita Trading Company. However, he still has troubles understanding that people are horrified at the idea of killing [[spoiler:as he didn’t notice that Koga was afraid of him after the latter caught him brutally murdering a member of Worm.]]
* MadeOfIron: His Gaoh Style: Armour Clad allows him to tighten his muscles like armour, just like the Niko styles Indestructable technique.
* MistakenForBadass: Because of his SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute appearance to Ohma, when he makes his debut match, everyone thinks he's the Ohma who fought to the finals of the Annihilation Tournament. His lack of social skills and air-headed personality doesn't help convince people otherwise.
* NoSocialSkills: He admits to not being good with people, with almost every interaction being taken as challenge to fight by accident. He pushes Narushima's berserk button by calling him weak, then has no idea why Narushima became pissed. This is after Narushima had yelled at him continuously and had specifically told him that he disliked him.
** According to Himuro, another person from ''The Inside'', Ryuki is nothing like Ohma, he is completely closed off and fundamentally does not trust anyone.
** [[spoiler:He genuinely has no idea why Koga would be horrified at finding out his friend murdered someone and has no remorse over doing so. His initial reaction is to happily tell him that what he did was fine because he doesn't see the people he kills as humans, but insects. He then chalks up Koga's horrified reaction to this as stress over his exam.]]
* NiceGuy: Unlike Ohma or Narushima, he is cordial and avoids fighting as much as possible. However because of his lack of social skills and CloudCuckooLander tendencies, he finds himself in fights he could avoid.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: [[spoiler:Akoya subjects him to one at the end of their fight when Ryuki hesitates to kill him due to remembering Koga’s thoughts about killing. This hesitation cost him the victory.]]
* OnlyFriend: Due to his social awkwardness and general distrust of people, Ryuki never had a true friend. It took him weeks of constant interaction with Koga before Ryuki realized he enjoyed Koga’s company and treated him as his first friend.
* SacrificedBasicSkillForAwesomeTraining: He was trained by his grandfather to be a very skilled user of the Gaoh style, the precursor to the Niko Style. Unfortunately his grandfather never taught him any social skills or empathy, and is very much like a young child in his emotive and social capacity. He is worse than Ohma in this regard, [[spoiler:seeing no issue with killing people (albiet members of Worm/Gu) and thinking of them as insects to be crushed.]]
* SerialKiller: [[spoiler:Akoya Seishu’s investigations revealed that he was the one that killed the fake Yuzaki Mumon and two fake Kengan Association members. However, they were all members of Worm that killed the real counterparts and then surgically reconstructed their face to replace them.]]
* SkilledButNaive: He is skilled enough to overwhelm Nikaido Ren in their short fight with ease, but is a massive airhead and apparently has only fighting experience from sparring his grandfather. Given who his [[{{WorldsStrongestMan}} grandfather is,]] his idea of sparring may be very different from others.
** This is seen in his first fight against Utsubuki, where he is able to get the upper hand in their fight and bring him to his knees with a well placed strike to his solar plexus. He however does not follow through, instead stopping to wonder why the hit didn't finish the fight, leading to him being kicked by Utsubuki's [[{{SignatureMove}} Stinger]].
** Subverted as it turns out there is a difference between sparring and killing, with him having a lot of experience with the latter.
* TheStoic: Due to his CloudCuckooLander tendencies and bad social skills, he rarely shows any reaction, whether he's being yelled at, attacked, or about to fight in a Kengan Match. Even when his BerserkButton is pushed, he shows TranquilFury. This is because he has a severe LackOfEmpathy and emotive capability.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: He looks almost identical to Ohma to the point where everyone, including Katahara Metsudo, mistakes him as Ohma. He is shorter, lighter and noticeably skinnier than Ohma though. The fighters who interacted with Ohma during the tournament are not fooled though.
* WorfHadTheFlu: [[spoiler:Downplayed as Akoya was a tough opponent that could keep up with Ryuki, but Ryuki was about to use a technique that would have killed Akoya, who was pinning him down, until he remembered Koga’s despair when Ryuki reveals that he kills people. This moment of hesitation was all Akoya needed to knock him out and beat him bloody.]]
* {{Yandere}}: Of the friendship(?) variety towards Koga, his first real friend, to the point where he's ready to murder Yumigahama for swatting Koga in the liver in front of him.
