* ZergRush: While not as overtly pronounced as their adversaries, Super Earth has the numbers and tactics that outdo even the Bugs when it comes to this fighting style, with their armed forces employing little to no meaningful strategy in their military campaigns beyond throwing hordes of armed men and women against the frontlines with heavy artillery and orbital barrage support. Even the Helldivers, Super Earths military elite who are comparatively fewer in numbers, are deployed in groups of thousands behind enemy lines in order to cripple key objectives while the much more numerous SEAF hold the frontlines down. In the sequel, one can observe what could be dozens to hundreds of Super Destroyers simply idling above planets currently under liberation, content to drop a constant stream of hellpods and explosives while maintaining no actual battle formation, even when faced with returning fire from enemy Automaton battleships and anti-air.

* ZergRush: While not as overtly pronounced as their adversaries, High Command does not seem to employ any significant amount of strategy in their campaigns beyond deploying loads and loads of Helldivers and heavy ordinance behind enemy lines to take out key objectives while the SEAF hold down the front lines. In the sequel, one can observe what could be dozens to hundreds of Super Destroyers simply idling above planets currently under liberation, content to drop a constant stream of hellpods and explosives while maintaining no actual battle formation.

* ThemeNaming: Some Helldiver equipment are named after fittingly democratic and nationalistic concepts, such as the Liberator assault rifle, the Patriot mech suit, the Senator revolver, etc. Other weapons take after themes of justice, retribution and martial might such as the Adjudicator, the Dominator and Punisher shotguns. Their energy weapons are primarily themed after blades, particularly farming equipment such as the Scythe and Sickle rifles and the Dagger pistol.

Added DiffLines:

** Likewise, Super Earth does not seem particularly concerned about their many Super Destroyers, to the point where wandering and waiting around your ship in the sequel over planets being contested by the Automatons will treat you to the common sight of Super Destroyers full of fellow Helldivers being blown up by a single laser blast, and shots of that very same heavy ordinance narrowly missing the very Destroyer you're on, with no acknowledgement or worry.

* FascistButInefficient: Parodied. Quite a lot of attention is put on how Super Earth runs the Galactic War with the basic overall stategy of "throw barely-trained CannonFodder [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill overequipped with planet-decimating weaponry]] into zones swarming with hostiles until whatever current objective is achieved", and how there don't appear to be ''any'' kind of coordinated planetary offensives beyond broad Major Orders, which don't even force Super Destroyers to deploy at certain locations, as was famously seen in ''II'' during the Malevelon Creek fiasco. A variety of ship upgrades in ''II'' are [[YouHaveResearchedBreathing shockingly simplistic]] or even available late in the list (such as equipping logistics personnel with...''hand carts'') to make it obvious Super Earth's decision-making process isn't the most practical.

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Helldivers drop to their missions in bullet-shaped pods. Bullets also exist solely to be shot at targets and [[CannonFodder don't tend to last beyond impact]].

* SuperPersistentPredator: Once a gunship has Helldiver in its sights, it becomes very hard to shake it off, short of shooting the thing down. This is further complicated by their aerial positioning making it difficult to keep it cover against them.

Added DiffLines:

* StoneWall: Dropships aren't actually capable of hurting you on their own, but they move quickly to drop off their payload and are immune to any weapons not graded as anti-tank. Even those weapons will probably need to get a good shot at one of the ship's engines to hope to destroy them before they fly off (or better yet, before they drop their passengers).

Expy is a character which is obviously based on another one, singular character. A character can never be an Expy of two or more different characters, otherwise that's regular old inspiration at work. In any case, the ODS Ts were also inspired by (at least a version of) Starship Troopers, like 95 percent of all Space Marines in fiction.

* {{Expy}}:
** If Super Earth is an expy of ''Film/StarshipTroopers''' Terran Federation, then the Helldivers are expies of the Terran Mobile Infantry, being highly-trained SpaceMarines who fight with [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverKill excessive amounts of force]] but are also on-the-nose parodies of EliteMooks who [[CannonFodder get wiped out in droves]]. However, they do also share some similarities with how the Mobile Infantry is depicted in [[Literature/StarshipTroopers the book]], such as how [[OneManArmy a squad of four of them are able to enact and lock down large-scale combat operations and slaughter hundreds of enemies without breaking a sweat]].
** Helldivers also resemble the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers ([=ODSTs=]) from ''Franchise/{{Halo}}''. Not only does the default Helldiver helmet and body armor resemble those of [=ODSTs=], but they also deploy via {{Drop Pod}}s.

* LogicalWeakness: Like the Terminids' Chargers, it requires all four legs to support its extremely heavy weight. If even one of its legs is taken out (such as [[KneeCapping via the knee joint]]), the Factory Strider [[SquareCubeLaw cannot hope to support its own weight]] and it falls over before self-destructing. Like regular stationary Fabricators, it's also momentarily vulnerable to explosive attacks when its deployment bay opens to drop its Devastators onto the field, and its more lightweight design means that the hatch itself is an exploitable medium-armoured weak point even when closed. Finally, its immense size and weight makes it a huge, glacially slow target for Eagle and Super Destroyer bombardment stratagems, making it much easier for Helldivers to apply the massive damage necessary to down one of these things.

* ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy: One element of them being the weakest Automaton enemies is that they have the worst aim. A Trooper detecting you will start off with wildly inaccurate fire and will gradually zero in on you with more carefully-placed shots the longer you leave it alive and unattacked. Shooting in its direction (not necessarily hitting it) will degrade that accuracy, giving players more time to safely aim and manoeuvre towards (or away from) a Trooper squad.

* PowerfulButInaccurate: Turns out that Automaton Troopers are still graduates of the ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy even when they're piloting heavily-armed walkers. Scout Striders have the exact same problems as regular Troopers with taking a while to aim properly and losing accuracy when under fire, but their cannons hit much harder if and when they do tag you.

* YouKeepUsingThatWord: Given how completely contrary the government of Super Earth is to the concepts of "Democracy", "Liberty" and even "Freedom" that its citizens fling around so often, it's entirely possible that the average citizen of Super Earth has ''no idea what any of those concepts actually mean'' and are just parroting them as buzzwords designed to instill PatrioticFervor. Supported by the many ways the words are used that have no bearing on any existing definition of them.

* FeralVillain: Probably. Despite their complex ecology and the occasional hint of what might be evidence of higher intelligence if you squint, Terminids mostly appear to just be angry, territorial animals that humanity decided to pick a fight with.

* HumansAreSpecial: The propaganda of Super Earth certainly wants its citizens to ''believe'' so, making it out like Humanity is the only nation/species in the entire galaxy which enjoys freedom and democracy and using phrases like "The Jewel of the Milky Way" to describe their home planet.

* LeftForDead: Any Helldiver who is not on the extraction shuttle once the their small window of time closes is left behind as their only escape soars off into space, even if the soldier is alive and nearby, leaving them to either be torn apart by enemy forces swarming the area or left to fend to themselves in what's simultaneously the middle of nowhere and behind enemy lines.

to:

* WeHaveReserves: There is a pervasive tendency for Super Earth to pretty much assume that most of its soldiers are going to die in any given operation, and that this has little bearing on the success or failure of their missions. May be justified in that they have a population in the many billions (that they are implied to not even be able to fully support and are trying to use population control on anyway) across multiple planets from which they are able to conscript from with almost no restrictions. This attitude surprisingly does not appear to have any notable effect on morale.

* TrainingFromHell: Inverted and parodied. Since the SEAF are a gigantic RedshirtArmy, it's stated that tens of millions of Super Earth citizens are conscripted at once and put through a paltry ''72-hour basic training course'', which is still called "[[BlatantLies rigorous]]" by High Command. Given the speed at which a mass mobilization of this size is expected to regularly occur ''and'' taking into account how pathetically lackluster the training that even Super Earth's EliteMooks get is, it probably helps explain why they die in even greater numbers than the Helldivers.

* TotalitarianUtilitarian: Let's be honest here: leaving aside the lack of a [[ CultOfPersonality clearly visible cult of the individual ]] , the Super Earth's regime has all the characteristics of a totalitarian state controlling every element of citizens' lives and demanding from them total sacrifices for the good of the state as a whole. Much of their propaganda taps into the idea of servicing the greater good, and the Helldiver recruitment ads especially draw on the concept that "[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_isn%27t_free freedom doesn't come free]]" and that citizens can repay their "debt" to the greater populace by enlisting in the military and "helping to keep them safe".
