* {{Ephebophile}}: He has a preference for underage kills, and then kills them for his own psychotic amusement.

* NobleDemon: Cheritto's a bad guy by any standards, but he does show to have redeemable qualities and his UndyingLoyalty to Neil proves he isn't a total monster.

* GentlemanThief: A DeconstructedCharacterArchetype. He has the charm and all the connections, but he's painfully lonely and won't get close to anyone for fear that the cops will be right around the corner or that [[spoiler:his loved one may end up dead like Elisa]]. The final job he's involved in goes terribly awry, and results in over half of his crew being killed by the cops. Neil gets more violent as the film progresses, culminating in his revenge overriding his need to escape. [[spoiler:He ends up proving his own adage right when he flees (and leaves his girlfriend) after he sees Hanna pursuing him, and winds up dead at the end of the film.]]

* InterruptedSuicide: Vincent found her in his hotel room's bath with some cuts in a wrist and a leg. Luckily Vincent got her to the hospital and she survived just in time.

** In ''Literature/Heat2'', he becomes so obsessed with catching Wardell that he point-blank tells Captain Baumann to stay out of his way and [[spoiler:throws Wardell's accomplice off the roof of a six-story building]].

* HateSink: Easily the most hateful, vile, depraved and despicable character in the entire film. He lacks any kind of EvilVirtues or sympathetic qualities, being a petty, sadistic [[{{Jerkass}} jerkass]] who is not particularly smart. For bonus points, he's also a DirtyCoward and a possible SerialRapist. [[spoiler:His interference also ends up resulting in the deaths of Neil's entire crew, save for Chris, whose life is destroyed.]]

* BathSuicide: She tries to do this, after she got seriously distraught that her biodad wouldn't give her the time of day. When he gets home from work Hanna finds her lying in his bathtub with her wrists cut. He {{i|nterruptedSuicide}}mmediately ties her arms and legs to stop the bleeding, and rushes her to the nearest ER. It's got more {{Squick}} than when Bosko gets shot during the bank robbery shootout, or when the three guards are killed in the armored car robbery.

* DrivenToSuicide: She slits her wrists in the bathtub. Fortunately, Hanna gets there in time.

* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:He tried to mess up with Neil only for the master thief to shoot him in the chest]].

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Hanna is the most capable shot in his unit and the toughest in close quarters. Just ask [[spoiler:Cheritto, Hugh Benny and Neil.]]

* TheDanza

Although the third guard to be shot in the armored car robbery is also killed in this way, he was shot by Cheritto with a semiautomatic rifle, while Waingro executes the first guard at point-blank range with a pistol.]]

* Hypocrite: Is quite possessive of his wife and reacts with violent anger when she's fed up with his gambling addiction and threatens to leave him with their kid, yet sheepishly admits to Neil of having been unfaithful to her in a "nothing regular" type of way.

* DomesticAbuse: While he never hits Charlene, he makes an implicit threat towards her while menacingly closing in on her when she tells him of her intention to walk out on him with their son after his gambling addiction costs them once again a big pile of money, making this scene uncomfortable to watch and Chris UnintentionallyUnsympathetic .

* NumberTwo: Seems to have this role in Hanna's unit, despite Drucker outranking him, as he answers to Hanna directly and seems to be the one who passes on most of Hanna's directives down the chain of command, possibly owing to him belonging to the more experienced Detectives in the unit.
