Though given that Lucifer has a far more [[OneWingedAngel monstrous, inherently demonic form]] despite still being a (fallen) seraphim, it's most likely that prolonged exposure to Hell causes angels to slowly adapt more demonic traits. This is supported by the fact Lucifer was banished since the accidental creation of Hell, while Vaggie was punished and kicked out from Heaven 3 years before the events of the pilot.

* TheDogBitesBack: When she was an exorcist angel, Adam let Lute slash out her eye and tear off her wings for the sin of sparing a demon child, and they left her for dead in Hell. Then, he tried to blackmail her into helping them shut the hotel down, and revealed her past to Charlie to try and ruin their relationship. So when he dies a humiliating and painful death as Niffty stabs him numerous times, Vaggie watches the spectacle with a huge smile and enjoys watching her ex-boss get what's coming to him.
* DrillSergeantNasty: She tends to act like drill sergent whenever she tries to act authoritarian, such as in "Scrambled Eggs" when she forces Angel and Sir Pentious into a turf war battle so they can become FireForgedFriends and in "Dad Beat Dad" when she orders the staff to prepare for Lucifer's arrival. As she's a former Exorcist angel, who essentially act like soldiers, she likely learnt the attitude from her military-like training in Heaven.
* DryCrusader: Implied, since she strongly objects to the hotel serving alcohol, though moreso because it's an activity that leads to sin rather than taking issue with it by itself.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Vaggie was once a ruthless Angel Exorcist, racking up kills in the ''thousands''. However, she was unable to kill a Sinner child and allowed him to escape. This would lead to her getting mutilated and kicked out of Heaven. However, her act of moral restraint would also lead to her being rescued and tended to by Charlie, which would lead to their romance and Vaggie's official HeelFaceTurn.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: When she was an Exorcist, her hair was short, and looked like Lute's. In the present, it's much longer, almost as if it's meant to be a replacement for her wings that were torn off. It also helped her disguise herself as a moth-demon Sinner due to resembling.

** Vaggie's method of getting the Hotel residents to bond is via surviving a turf war is, as Charlie points out, hilariously over-the-top, the former's seemingly crazy idea actually works. When Vaggie returns to the Hotel, she is delightfully surprised that the once distrustful, fighting occupants are now getting along.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Of a different sort than Angel Dust, and mostly justified. She seems to genuinely be a decent person, and she has a nice, stable relationship with her girlfriend Charlie. The fact that she's grumpy and hostile towards other demons is down to the fact that they're all bastards who deliberately antagonize her and her girlfriend. In the series proper, Vaggie's hot temperedness is downplayed, and while still bossy and judgmental, she shows a softer side to the other Hotel occupants.
* KarmicJackpot: Vaggie was once a ruthless and bloodthirsty Exorcist Angel but couldn't bring herself to kill a Sinner child and let him escape. However, her superiors discovered her act and punished her for it. She would've most likely died of her wounds if she hadn't been found and nurtured by Charlie on that same night. While most of her past as an Exorcist is still a mystery and Vaggie sparing the Sinner child cost her place in Heaven, it's implied she was disillusioned with her old home before she had been abandoned. Even so, with her act of mercy, Vaggie would start a happily committed relationship with Charlie, one of the gentlest and kindest people in all of Hell. And through helping Charlie with the Hotel, Vaggie would also gain genuine friends who would protect and care for her.

During a training exercise, she was able to effortlessly grab, carry, and throw both the taller Sir Pentious and Angel Dust, with little effort. She turns out to be a FallenAngel, and angels are stronger than a vast majority of Hell's citizens, making her strength justified. And according to Adam, Vaggie was a ruthless Exterminator, with kills possibly in the thousands.
* PredatorTurnedProtector: Vaggie turned out to have been an Exorcist Angel three years prior to the series, as such she would murder a number of Sinners with little hesitation; according to Adam, her kill count was in the thousands. However, she couldn't bring herself to kill a Sinner child and was [[PunishedForSympathy punished]] for it by having her eye and wings ripped out. Thankfully, she was found by [[AllLovingHero Charlie]], and is now very dedicated to making sure Charlie's dream of redeeming Sinners come true. * PunishedForSympathy: Back when Vaggie was still an Exorcist, she encountered a terrified demon child and felt sorry enough for them to let them go away. The fact that she showed anything but complete disdain for demons and sinners led to [[GeneralRipper Lute]] cutting out her eye, ripping her wings off, and leaving her to die in Hell while the Exorcists finished the extermination and returned to Heaven.
* TheReliableOne: Vaggie is the most [[OnlySaneMan sane]] of the entire Hotel residents given Charlie's [[CloudCuckooLander flightiness]], Alastor's [[MoodSwinger unpredictability]], Husk's [[TheAlcoholic alcoholism]], Angel Dust's [[TheHedonist hedonism]], Niffty's [[AxCrazy psychoticness]], and Sir Pentious's [[IronButtMonkey slapstick magnet nature]]. At one point, Charlie states that Vaggie is the person she trusts the most. Which makes the reveal that Vaggie was a former Exorcist the whole time absolutely ''sting'' for the princess.
* RetractableAppendages: After she recovers her angel wings, she seemingly can retract them completely into her body at will.
* ScarsAreForever: Justified. Vaggie's eye was gouged out by Lute for "punishment" in sparing a Sinner child; the latter also ripped out Vaggie's first pair of wings. However, while she manages to regrow a new pair of the latter, she doesn't do so with the former. This is because Lute sliced out Vaggie's eye with her Angelic weapon, which turn out to be a weakness for Angels; but she didn't use said weapon on the latter's wings.
* ScaryTeeth: In the pilot she has a mouth full of sharp teeth that become more pronounced the more distressed she is.
* SexySecretary: In her final design, she somewhat has this aesthetic with her button-up blouse, tights, and short pencil skirt, plus her white-collar job, though she's actually the manager of the hotel.
* ShipperOnDeck: Vaggie gives a reassuring pat to Sir Pentious when the latter [[CannotSpitItOut attempts]] to confess his feelings to Cherri Bomb. She also pushes Charlie, also a shipper for the couple and is looking towards the couple in wide-eyed excitement, away to give said couple some [[LeaveTheTwoLovebirdsAlone privacy]].
* ShorterMeansSmarter: Downplayed. The other Hotel occupants aren't idiots and Vaggie has her own flaws as well. However, she is the most [[TheReliableOne reliable]] of them, often wanting to do the sensible solution in regard to a problem.

* SingingVoiceDissonance: When voicing Vaggie, Creator/StephanieBeatriz uses a fairly deep and almost masculine-sounding voice (very close to her delivery when playing [[Series/BrooklynNineNine Rosa]]), but uses her higher natural voice when singing, turning Vaggie into a mezzo-soprano instead of the expected alto.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: A same-sex example. Vaggie is deeply loyal to and in love with [[AntiAntiChrist Charlie]] for a number of the latter's positive qualities: [[NiceGirl kindness]], [[AllLovingHero compassion]], [[RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething selflessness]], [[HairOfGoldHeartOfGold gentleness]], and [[TheFettered being one of the most morally upright people in the show]]. Her portion of "[[DistantDuet Whatever It Takes]]" has Vaggie reveal snippets of what made her fall for Charlie when they first met: the demon princess made her feel like "a stranger in a brand-new place", possibly meaning how the former was a bright spot for her in [[CrapsackWorld Hell]]; she then sings how Charlie makes her feel understood. She mentions in "Masquerade" that one of the things she loves about Charlie is that she doesn't abuse her royal title to get what she wants. "Welcome to Heaven" reveals they first met after Vaggie was mutilated and left for dead by Lute and Adam; Charlie came to her aid and the reaction from her after Charlie bandaged her up implies that was the moment where her romantic feelings, if not friendship, for the Hell princess first appeared.

* SourSupporter: She's doubtful of whether Charlie's hotel will work, but she's still very supportive and invested in helping her.

And a subtle notice shows that unlike her former teammates who sadistically smiled at the annual exterminations, Vaggie sported a serious frown, implying she didn't see any sick enjoyment from murdering Sinner but as a duty. And in the present day, it shown that ''none'' of her former Exorcist sisters have fond memories of her, even being ''excited'' at the prospect of murdering her. Given all this, it's implied that Vaggie may have been the sole, good-hearted Exorcist, with her heroic side being fully brought out upon her fall.

* UndyingLoyalty: Of the entire Hotel residents, Vaggie is the one who actively and steadfastly helps in ensuring Charlie's plan to redeem sinners come true. Vaggie has essentially dedicated her whole life to doing whatever she can to make Charlie safe and happy, as repayment for seeing worth in Vaggie at her lowest point after she was abandoned by Heaven.

Charlie is Princess of Hell, daughter of Lucifer (''the'' FallenAngel and the undisputed King of Hell), while Vaggie at first appears to just be a common sinner. Once a southern radio host and serial killer, Alastor is an enigmatic, infamously powerful Overlord known as the "Radio Demon" among other demons. He takes an interest in Charlie after seeing her on the news and offers to help her with her hotel, [[NotInThisForYourRevolution not because he believes in the cause]], but because of the entertainment value he sees in the patrons' repeated failure. He serves as the hotel's main investor, facility manager, and biggest source of defense and security. When not doing his multiple roles at the hotel, Alastor also runs his radio show on the side.

* CuteLittleFangs: While not as prominent as Charlie's, Vaggie's are visible on occasion. (They were especially notable during the Pilot, where [[ScaryTeeth her entire mouth would occasionally seemed to be filled with them]], but that appears to have been a bit of early character design that was changed.) Interestingly, she does not appear to have had them prior to her fall. Though given that Lucifer has a far more [[OneWingedAngel monstrous, inherently demonic form]] despite still being a (fallen) seraphim, it's most likely that prolonged exposure to Hell causes angels to slowly adapt more demonic traits.

* LiarRevealed: Downplayed to "Omitting the Truth Revealed", but Vaggie is desperate to make sure Charlie never finds out her status as a FallenAngel, to the point that she [[AintTooProudToBeg begs Adam to not tell her]], and her reaction to Charlie's horror and devastation to Vaggie's past as a former Exorcist is clear regret. Where it is downplayed is that the others' reactions are pretty blasé besides Charlie, who herself seems more hurt and distant because Vaggie felt she couldn't tell her the truth in the first place.
