Somehow, this malfunctioned, and Harlin awoke much earlier than he should have. He was found by a kind Japanese couple who gave him the name "Hayato" and raised him as their own. He grew up believing himself to be of Japanese heritage like his parents, and forgot his memories of being born as the Prince of Helios. He only found out the truth when as an adult, after his ship was wrecked and he was saved by a fellow Heliosian who told him of his true heritage.]]

One day he snapped, had the Helios Empire massacred, and aimed to rule the galaxy. Even as he dies, he gives Kento one final DyingDeclarationOfHate and tells him that the generational trauma and wrath of the clones will always live on. Prince Harlin, however, establishes a Republic where all beings are equal, and makes laws where clones are given equal rights, defying Dolmen's words]].

* DirtyCoward: A hilarious example when he chases Prince Harlin off a cliff and tries to execute him, causing Harlin to fall. Once Daltanious emerges from the sea and carries him to safety, Kloppen has an OhCrap moment and tries to run away.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: When Dolmen tasks him to kill his adoptive father, Dr. Namil, Dolmen stares in blank silence and hesitates to press the button.

* OhCrap: When he believes that he has Harlin cornered, he believes that he can finally end him for good...only for Daltanious to rise behind him. Kloppen's facial expression suggests he knows he's screwed.

From cradle to grave, the clones were forced to surveil their prototype's life from their prisons. If the prototype was injured, the clone would be forced to receive the exact injury. If the prototype died, the clone was sent in their place. If an organ transplant was needed, the clone was harvested. When the clone outlived their usefulness, they would be eliminated to make way for the new successor. No matter what, the clones were simply puppets of their senior vassals. These facts were a secret known only to the royal family, and the oppression of clones was a common practice in Helios.]]

** The Zaal have advanced spacecraft and arms like their [[ArchEnemy Arch-Nemesis]], Helios, which hints at the Space Race between the US and the Soviets.

** Dr. Earl is a RacistGrandpa variant. He is a father figure to [[spoiler: Prince Harlin/Hayato Tate]] and a grandfather figure to Kento and the kids. Out of all of them, he treats Kento with importance since he's an AlienPrince, while looking down on the rest of the kids and deeming them "burdens". Many episode show that he has warmed up to them, he just won't admit it.
