Laguna, who is normally unflappable, is [[NotSoStoic so horrified]] that he begs her in vain to stop.

* VillainousBreakdown: She loses her usual cool when Laguna presents her with evidence that [[spoiler:her love for Shura is a result of her brainwashing herself with her own Ether Gear, screaming in denial and insisting that she and Shura are bound by destiny before Laguna breaks her from the spell.]]

* DesignatedGirlFight: Being the team's only female members, Mirrani and Lyra also only face off against the ''Edens Zero'' crew's female fighters (Mirrani against Homura, Lyra against Rebecca and later Kleene).

* VillainsOutShopping: While waiting for the All-Link System to be activated so Shura can commit robot genocide throughout the cosmos, the younger Oceans all casually lounge around with Shura at a pool resort.

* ButNowIMustGo: In his backstory, Callum left the Skymech Dojo to broaden his horizons and expand his own strength beyond a "filthy" planet like Guilst. Whatever he went through after that has since changed him into a stern and faithful servant of Poseidon Nero.

* NotDistractedByTheSexy: While most of the younger Oceans are hanging out on Nero 66 with Shura, Callum is the only one not relaxing at the pool scene, and refutes the advances of several bikini-clad women asking him to join them without even looking at them.
* OhCrap: He has this reaction twice during is fight with Jinn: first when Jinn successfully normalizes his own Ether to keep himself from getting disintegrated by Callum's Empire Ether; and again when [[spoiler:Jinn taps into his Overdrive and finally beats him, reminding him that he should've taken Nasseh and Mirrani's warnings about them more seriously]].
* PetTheDog: Despite being loyal enough to his empire to kill his former friend, he shows he has enough of a heart to care for the well-being of lower-ranking imperial troops after ordering their evacuation from [[spoiler:the anti-matter bomb explosion that destroys Nero 66.]]

* UnderestimatingBadassery: Callum looks down on Jinn's apparent lack of skill compared to his own, which is {{justified|Trope}} by Jinn's frequent losses against him in their past rivalry. He's taken off guard when [[spoiler:Jinn reveals he has the ability to Overdrive, something Callum himself isn't able to accomplish]].

* AbsurdlyHighStakesGame: Lyra forces Rebecca into playing a card game called Lost Card, which is much like StripPoker in that they lose an article of clothing each time they lose a round, with the extra rule that once a person is left totally naked, they lose a body part of the victor's choice as well. She also puts an ExplosiveLeash around Rebecca's neck to ensure she can't back out.

* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: {{Downplayed}}. Lyra claims to have played Lost Card over a hundred times and has only lost ''once'', that being to Nero, whose Empire Dice ensure he always wins. As for her and Rebecca's game, Rebecca triumphs simply by exposing her cheating rather than actually beating her in the game, which Lyra decides to RageQuit instead of risk actually losing again.

* NearVillainVictory: She initially does win the Lost Card game against Rebecca, but Rebecca uses her [[TimeRewindMechanic Reverse]] to negate the outcome. This is also done as a NecessaryDrawback, as she figures out how Lyra is cheating.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Because she interrupts Nasseh and has him hand Rebecca over in the middle of Rebecca and Weisz's PsychicAssistedSuicide, Lyra inadvertently provides enough time for Weisz's hastily-configured device to free him of the hypnosis before Nasseh can focus his attention back on him.
* OhCrap: Twice in short succession: first when Rebecca exposes her cheating to the crowd, leading her to RageQuit the game; and again when [[spoiler:Kleene taps into her Overdrive and shreds up Lyra's cards, leaving her defenseless]].

* RageQuit: After Rebecca exposes her cheating to the crowd, causing them to turn on her, Lyra decides to forego the game altogether and move on to the "slaughter show".

* VillainWithGoodPublicity: She's a famous livestreamer who enjoys being adored by the people of Aoi, even though she's also one of the Empire's elite forces who help Shura's plans for robot genocide, and has dismembered over a hundred people in [[AbsurdlyHighStakesGame Absurdly High-Stakes Games]]. Unfortunately for her, her popularity comes crashing down when Rebecca ousts her as a cheater in the middle of a cosmic stream, which sends her into a VillainousBreakdown.
* VillainousBreakdown: Rebecca manages to expose Lyra's cheating by ripping a card in half and stacking it to make it look like a staggered deck of five, tricking Lyra into changing the card she draws into a 5 before pulling the real 5 from her breasts. Having her secret exposed and getting booed by the crowd for her foul play sends Lyra into such a rage that she instantly drops the game show charade and goes on the attack.

* CassandraTruth: ZigZagged. He tries to warn the other Oceans how dangerous the ''Edens Zero'' crew is through their group chat after getting beaten by Weisz, to varying success: Lyra brushes him off outright because she's busy with her show; Mirrani, the only other to suffer a defeat by then, backs up his claims; and Callum acknowledges the warning, just to disregard it when his opponent turns out to be Jinn, his less skilled rival.
* CasualDangerDialogue: Partway through his battle with Weisz, their banter veers into a SeinfeldianConversation about the change in public perceptions of shooting games over the years while trying to actually shoot each other down.

* {{Fauxshadow}}: Nasseh's early appearances have him put special emphasis on the concept of memories, suggesting his Ether Gear gives him the power of memory manipulation, but it turns out to be simple mind control.[[note]]Incidentally the original character submission ''did'' list him with the power to implant FalseMemories among other powers, but it went unused.[[/note]]

* OhCrap: Nasseh starts to get nervous when Weisz figures out how to beat his "hypnosis" by blocking his electric signals with his Arsenal Suit, forcing Nasseh to fight with a Knight Gear of his own. It happens again when Nasseh thinks he has Weisz beat after breaking his helmet, only to find Weisz has already set up signal jammers around the battlefield, making him powerless. [[spoiler:On top of that, he's completely shocked when Weisz enters an Overdrive state to beat him.]]
* PowerMisidentification: Nasseh claims his Ether Gear gives him hypnotic powers, but the fact that it works on androids, who are normally ImmuneToMindControl, tips Weisz off that it actually [[{{Biomanipulation}} reconfigures other people's Ether]] through electrical signals. As a result, he's able to set up various measures to block or jam his signals, forcing Nasseh into a physical showdown.

* ShootTheMedicFirst: Not at first, since he's initially unaware that Pino has an {{EMP}} that can negate his hypnosis, but once he's made aware when she demonstrates her power on him firsthand, she becomes his first target as soon as his Ether Gear returns.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: After putting Weisz, Rebecca, and Mosco under his control, Nasseh completely lowers his guard while pondering what to do with Happy and Pino, assuming them to be harmless because of their size and cuteness. This gives Pino the chance to deactivate his Ether Gear with her {{EMP}}, restore the others, and provide a hint on how to figure his powers out. Unfortunately for her, Nasseh is a quick learner and [[ShootTheMedicFirst hypnotizes her]] the moment his power comes back.
* VillainExitStageLeft: He's still able to stand after Weisz destroys his Sea Devil, but since Weisz also set up signal jammers all around the area to interfere with his Ether Gear, Nasseh is left powerless and can only scamper off in defeat. The only reason he gets away is because [[spoiler:Weisz's Overdrive took too much out of him for him to give chase]].

The Empire's latest model of mechanical suit, a miniaturized Knight Gear that Nasseh pilots in direct combat.

* ArmCannon: It's equipped with an Ether machine gun in its hands and missile launchers in its knuckles.
* LightningBruiser: This suit is huge and appropriately strong, and is fast enough to catch Weisz off guard and slam him through several structures thanks to its built-in thrusters.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: His Sea Devil can fire a huge amount of missiles from its knuckles, more than one would think could fit there.
* MiniMecha: It's an oversized Knight Gear suit that's considerably smaller than Sibir and Madame Kurenai's {{Humongous Mecha}}s, but still too big to be considered PoweredArmor like Weisz's Arsenal Suit.
* MoreDakka: As if having machine guns in its hands isn't enough, his Sea Devil can create a gigantic barrage of Ether bullets above it to invoke major BulletHell on his foes.

* AttackAttackAttack: Her last ditch effort in her fight with Homura is to launch a fruitless DoppelgangerAttack against her, even though she's aware that [[spoiler:Homura is in [[SuperMode Overdrive]] by this point]].

* BigShutUp: Responds this way during her VillainousBreakdown when Homura proclaims androids to be living beings.

* CassandraTruth: ZigZagged. She backs up Nasseh's warnings to Callum and Lyra about the ''Edens Zero'' crew's strength, but only Lyra brushes them off; Callum acknowledges them, but disregards it because his opponent turns out to be Jinn, his less skilled rival.
* ClothingDamage: Her defeat leaves her clothes in tatters after spending most of her fight untouched.

* OhCrap: She has this reaction during her and Homura's battle when [[spoiler:Homura performs her first [[SuperMode Overdrive]] and obliterates all her mirrors with her [[BladeSpam Odin Strike]]]].

* PerpetualSmiler: Mirrani almost always wears a cold and uncaring smile, whether it's listening to Shura's plans to destroy all robots or watching him kill Cyca in front of her. [[spoiler:Once she's beaten by Homura, however, she turns out to be a StepfordSmiler, breaking down in tears and showing just how terrified she is by what Shura has done, especially to Cyca, who was like her grandfather.]]

* CharacterDeath: His head is crushed to pieces by Shura to emphasize how little he cares for robots.

* CharacterDeath: [[spoiler:Jaguar guts him, drags him through the floor, and smashes him into a pillar, leaving his body limp and lifeless.]]
* CurbStompBattle: Fabiano gets a good preemptive hit on Jaguar's face, but it's immediately followed by [[spoiler:Jaguar plunging his claw into Fabiano's chest and plowing him across the floor.]]

* TheWorfEffect: He stands at the top of Nero's elite guard, and is stated to be from the Oceans' old generation, implying great experience. Despite this, [[spoiler:Jaguar makes incredibly short work of him to establish his own credentials as a threat.]]

* LaserGuidedKarma: A good deal of their screentime is spent on mocking the inferior Squad 6 for their pathetic loss against Shiki and the gang, it's fitting that they themselves suffer a quicker and more unceremonious defeat at the hands of Justice's men.

* TheBusCameBack: The anime brings him back in the Sandra arc for the Season 2 finale, where he participates in the Empire's purge of Sandra's robots and their sympathizers, leading to him getting beaten again by a powered-up Shiki.

* SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum: For his anime-exclusive return in the Sandra arc, he has a VillainousBreakdown over losing to Shiki twice that leads him to trigger the Maelstrom, a superbomb that's rigged to blow half of Sandra, while he and his men are still right in front of the bomb.

* VillainousBreakdown: His return on Sandra in the anime adaptation sees him get creamed by Shiki even harder than he did on Foresta, which sends Orc on a SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum over failing two missions in a row thanks to the same person.

* ExplainingYourPowersToTheEnemy: He brags about his power to change into glue at will when Homura's blades fail to work on him. [[ExplainExplainOhCrap Then he craps his pants]] when Homura coaxes him into shutting his glue body off to she can land a finishing strike.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: While his ability gives him flexibility and invulnerability, it still has the properties of glue. Homura notes this and kicks up dust and rock to stick to his body. While he can simply turn his glue body off to unstick them, he realizes too late that's ''exactly'' what Homura was waiting for before she takes him out.

* LaserGuidedKarma: He openly brags that he loves to see the despair in his victims' faces as he beats and kills them, and threatens to do the same to Homura. Homura kicks his ass and leaves him a broken, crying mess on the ground, commenting that should look in the mirror to see the face he wants.

* OhCrap: He gets this reaction when Homura tricks him into turning off his glue body after covering him in dirt and forest debris, leaving him vulnerable to her blades. He only has a second to realize he messed up before she dices him.

* NearVillainVictory: She corners and almost kills Rebecca in their fight as Rebecca can't unlock a vacuum's digital password in time, but when Rebecca's Ether Gear activates and sends her back a few minutes before Britney reaches her, she's able to enter the code and turn the tables.

* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: {{Averted}}. When Rebecca corners herself in an appliance shop, Britney only takes a moment to mock her before flooding the room with corrosive nitrogen to [[MakeThemRot rot her to death]]. The only reason it doesn't work is because it triggers Rebecca's Cat Leaper, rewinding time.

* CoolStarship: The fake ''Skull Fairy'' is a gargantuan battleship with its prow resembling the head of a dragon, and that's just their cargo ship.
* DramaticIrony: [[spoiler:None of the crew know what became of Elsie and the Princess Guard after the Chronophage devours Lendard, and can only hope they made it out okay. By this point, readers know all three of them are dead: the Princess Guard by Jesse's hands, and Elsie by staying on Lendard as its time is consumed.]]

* StandardSciFiFleet: Elsie's fleet--[[FlauntingYourFleets which she loves to show off]]--looks more like a fleet of old-time seafaring pirate ships in space compared to the more modernized Interstellar Union Army fleet. As shown during the Kaede War, all of the ships besides the ''Skull Fairy'' are unmanned and remotely controlled.

* DeadAlternateCounterpart: [[spoiler:Both are killed by Jesse moments apart from each other in Universe 3; Gowen via [[OffWithHisHead decapitation]], Hyoga via [[BoomHeadshot shot to the head]]. The two seen in Universe 2, on the other hand, are last seen alive and well.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: {{Downplayed}}. They first appear in the double-page character ensemble cover spread of their debut chapter.

* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: [[spoiler:They're both abruptly killed on Lendard when Jesse lures them into a trap, though Hyoga manages to [[TakingYouWithMe take Jesse with him]] in his last moments.]]

* BoomHeadshot: [[spoiler:Jesse shoots him blank in the head in the Lendard arc, though Hyoga lives long enough to [[TakingYouWithMe get even]] and free Elsie.]]

* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler:He's fatally shot by Jesse, though he takes the guy down with him by freezing his heart and punching a hole through his chest with a last-ditch attack, alongside freeing Elsie from her shackles.]]

* ColonyShip: The fortress contains a thriving city with all the recourses Drakken needs to take over a planet's entire society and corrupt it to its core.

* VillainWorld: The whole ship is the main setting of the Belial Gore arc, and it shows how much control Drakken has over it, as his minions have full knowledge of the city layout, and virtually every passenger is so neck-deep in debt to him that they're willing to do his bidding to have their debt cleared.
* WretchedHive: The ''Belial Gore'' itself is home to some of the cruelest, seediest lowlifes in the Sakura Cosmos, and is so corrupt that a peaceful planet like Guilst became a world where every crime imaginable is perfectly legal under Drakken's influence.

* CurbStompBattle: Witch takes them down with ease when she confronts them in two different timelines. The first time is a feint so they can capture the ship from the inside, but the second time, Rebecca warns the crew of their trick and they cut them off before they attempt anything.

* HeroKiller: They're supposed to be this before Witch gives them a CurbStompBattle. They succeed by using their defeats to slip right under the crew's noses, seize control of ''Edens Zero'', and deactivate the Shining Stars.
* OhCrap: They all get this reaction in World No.30 when Rebecca gives away their infiltration plan from World No.29, nipping it in the bud.

* SympathyForTheDevil: Although Sister is rightfully pissed at them for breaking into her crew's home, she expresses sympathy for fellow androids Seth and Diego after their self-destruction, figuring the "poor bastards" were programmed by Drakken to [[YouHaveFailedMe explode upon failure]], and offers to let Maria go free in exchange for information, knowing she couldn't go back without suffering a similar fate. This sympathy proves unfounded when it's revealed Seth and Diego were FakingTheDead, and gets used against her when Maria takes her out before she can get into her Battle Dress.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: Despite hearing the rumors of ''Edens Zero'' once being captained by a Demon King who ruled the cosmos, they laugh it off as a bunch of fantasy nonsense, and the theming of their crew does them no favors. While they're impressed with the ship's technology, their skills make invading the ship such a cakewalk that they figure their three-on-one fight with Witch will be no challenge at all. In the end, Witch gives them a CurbStompBattle with her ElementalPowers that leaves them completely blindsided.

* TheWorfEffect: They're built up as the deadliest fighters up Drakken Joe's sleeve, but as soon as they make their first move against the ''Edens Zero'' crew, Witch delivers a CurbStompBattle to all three of them at once, just to demonstrate that the fight with Drakken isn't as one-sided as he thinks. This plays to the trio's advantage, letting them pull a WoundedGazelleGambit so they can seize the ship.

* EverybodysDeadDave: {{Subverted}}. She seems to be the only member of her strike team to survive the initial encounter with the ''Edens Zero'' crew after Seth and Diego use their SelfDestructMechanism. However, their deaths turn out to be a ploy for her to gain the crew's sympathy so she can catch them off-guard while the others seize the ship.

* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: After Sister gets disabled with the other Shining Stars, Maria has her strung up in her own bondage equipment with her foot to Sister's neck to taunt her over how weak she is without her Battle Dress.

* ShapeshifterDefaultForm: Her preferred appearance is that of an attractive young purple-haired human woman.

* WoundedGazelleGambit: Though she doesn't count on getting defeated or captured, Maria goes along with Sister's [[SympathyForTheDevil sympathetic assessment of their allegiance to Drakken]] so she can later catch her and Mosco off guard.

* FakingTheDead: After losing to Witch, he's mentioned by Sister to have already committed suicide [[KilledOffscreen off-screen]] via a SelfDestructMechanism. In reality, it was just his physical form that was destroyed, while his true form--a [[ContagiousAI living computer virus]]--takes over the ''Edens Zero''[='=]s systems and disables the Shining Stars, leaving the ship completely defenseless.

* OhCrap: He and Diego both get this when Rebecca warns her friends about their true intentions in the new timeline, thus preventing them from carrying out their plans in secret.

* FakingTheDead: After losing to Witch, he's mentioned by Sister to have already committed suicide [[KilledOffscreen off-screen]] via a SelfDestructMechanism. In reality, it was only Seth who self-destructed while Diego used an InvisibilityCloak to create the illusion of doing the same.

* MaliciousMisnaming: The first time he gets Spider's name wrong as "Tick" ("[[DubNameChange Flea]]" in the English anime dub) is him legitimately not remembering his name. The second time after being informed is him not caring.

* AwesomeButImpractical: His Ether Gear makes him much more dangerous than the average sniper, but it also gives him an abnormally high heat signature that gives his location away to any common android's thermal sensors. Also, while being able to accurately hit a target from miles away is [[ImprobableAimingSkills absurdly impressive]], it only serves to make his range limitations all the more obvious. Pit him against someone who can make a reliable trajectory analysis of his shots, and Fie's left with a powerset that defeats the entire purpose of his profession.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Hermit takes him out by hacking into his entire weapons cache and mowing him down (albeit giving the bullets an Ether coating to [[ThouShaltNotKill make them non-lethal]]), boxing him in the one room where he ironically thinks he's at his most dangerous.

* OhCrap: Expresses this when Hermit dodges his sniper bullet, finds him and takes control of the weapons in his armory with no way to counter.

* PreMortemOneLiner: Utters one when he kills Sibir:

* CurbStompBattle: His fight with Sister is entirely one-sided in her favor, amounting to little more than a BDSM session with Daichi getting tortured and bossed around. The only reason he manages to turn the tables is because Sister allows it to happen out of [[ItAmusedMe amusement]].

** When Laguna interrupts his torture session with Rebecca, he goes from screaming at him in rage to cowering in fear when his colleague mentions that Drakken would be angry to learn that he hurt Rebecca without his consent.
** He is shocked when Sister easily breaks free from his grasp, since it goes against his assumption that the Shining Stars are Ether Gear users; moreso when Sister states her intention of having "fun" with him after blowing him up with her healing power.
* PhlebotinumOverload: He's defeated when Sister uses her Overheal Destroy technique to heal him to the point his body can't withstand it, causing him to [[NonFatalExplosions non-fatally explode]] from the inside.

* BringMyBrownPants: He's shown to have pissed his pants screaming when he thinks the ''Edens Zero'' crew is about to blow up his ship.

* HumiliationConga: After he's beaten in a cyberspace battle by the heroes, he tries to take revenge by hacking and destroying their ship. Not only do the heroes defeat him again, but they trick him into thinking they are going to blow him up with their ship's laser cannon (they simply set off a fireworks display) causing him to piss himself in fear. He takes his grievances to Drakken Joe, hoping to have his losses avenged. Instead, Joe has him killed for his failures.

* LoopholeAbuse: Any player account caught attacking NPC characters or altering Digitalis's code will be banned for life. However, by spoofing his hacks through other players' accounts, Jamilov can cheat and kill as much as he wants while they get banned in his stead.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: By blabbering about his connections with Drakken Joe to the ''Edens Zero'' crew and Amira, and later telling Drakken himself about them, it sends them all on a colision course that ultimately awakens Rebecca's [[MentalTimeTravel Cat Leaper]], setting up Drakken's downfall long before it happens.
* OhCrap: He has this reaction twice in quick succession. ** Shura is so convinced that he's the ultimate GravityMaster that he underestimates how much of a challenge people can give him. ** He pegs Nero as an aging doddard who's weaker than Ziggy, even though Nero is one of the Oración Seis Galáctica. * UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: [[spoiler:By trying to eradicate Ziggy and all robots in the Aoi Cosmos, he winds up triggering the StableTimeLoop that leads to Ziggy's very creation, while also allowing his uprising to succeed in nearly every timeline.]]
