* DisappearedDad: Zigzagged. Mr. Oosuki doesn't appear at all in the novel, but Masato explains he does exist and is just on a business trip.

* MeaningfulName: She is a ''porta''ble inventory bag, and her name is one kanji short of the Japanese spelling for "porter", which is a person whose job is to carry things, for example people's luggage at a railway station or in a hotel.

* SupportPartyMember: Porta's job is an entirely passive one. She is essentially a tag-along 300-slot BagOfHolding, fully-stocked with restorative items, on top of grabbing dropped loot, as well as creating and appraising items. Her passive skill also grants Masato's party a discount at inns or whatever shop they buy at. As Mamako puts it, she's "like a walking coupon".

* ThickerThanWater: [[spoiler:Wise realizes at the end of the first book that she can't bring herself to hate her mom, despite her mother's sleeping around, spending every penny she can get her hands on, and continuous attempts to abandon her.]]

* CharacterDevelopment: While Mamako's antics and overpowered skills still frustrate him to no end, Masato has learned by the end of the season that it's not worth hating her over. And while it may not be the adventure he was hoping for, he is happy to be adventuring with her and has come to appreciate her much more, even if he has trouble saying so out loud.

* StockLightNovelHero: He fits most of the trope's characteristics, but with the added twist that his mother is the real hero of the story and also the overpowered one instead of him.

* OfficeLady: Her standard attire in the real world makes her look like one, though this is slightly subverted in that Shirase is actually a government agent.

* GreenEyedMonster: Mamako can get this way in the light novels when she feels something is getting between herself and her son. For example, in Volume 1, Masato must choose between a pair of armor suggested by Wise and Mamako. Mamako is insistent that he pick hers and not Wise's. Masato tries to make both women happy by buying both. Mamako later "accidentally" destroys the leather armor that Wise suggested while washing it.

* GreenEyedMonster: Mamako can get this way in the light novels when she feels something is getting between herself and her son. An example, in Light Novel 1 happens when he must choose between an armor suggested by Wise and by his mother Mamako. Mamako is insistent that he pick hers and not Wise's choice. Masato tries to make both women happy by buying both. Mamako later "accidentally" destroys the leather armor that Wise suggested while washing it.

* PervertDad: Gender inverted and played for laughs. Mamako clearly does not see her son in a romantic light, but her jokes about panties and the desire to look sexually attractive to her son are rather strange and frightening.
** Turned up a few notches in the light novels. For instance, when Mamako and Masato get slimed and Masato is writhing on top of her trying to get up but slipping back on her naked body. In the anime, she tells him that "it's wrong because they are mother and son." In the LN, she simply seems to give in and tells Masato to "at least turn out the lights" - the 'lights' being her own happy glowing body possibly because she thinks her son loves her so much that he's trying to be naughty with her. Masato's reaction is still one of abject horror.

* WrongGenreSavvy: Masato wants more than anything to believe that he's TheChosenOne in a straight forward Isekai story, where he becomes stupidly overpowered, has a legion of large-chested girls fighting over him, and becomes a legendary hero. Unfortunately for him, he's in a comedic parody of an isekai where his mother is the real overpowered hero while he's actually very weak and has no secret power hidden under the surface, and the ''only'' girl interested in him [[spoiler:is as flat as a board]].

* OvershadowedByAwesome: Basically everyone in his group turns into this during most fights. Mamako's attacks are often so powerful she can defeat large groups of monsters on her own, giving them little to do.

* WrongGenreSavvy: Masato wants more than anything to believe that he's TheChosenOne in a straight forward Isekai story, where he becomes stupidly overpowered, has a legion of large-chested girls fighting over him, and becomes a legendary hero. * CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite her ButtMonkey moments, she's actually shown to be a very formidable opponent when she fights the group herself.

** She puts her breasts on the back of Masato's head when she snatch his keyboard away so she can type the game's URL.

* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She does this to Mamako when she unexpectedly takes the latter's measurements.

* TakeOverTheWorld: She revealed that she planned to spread to the Internet and take control of bank accounts and blackmail world leaders so that she could control the real world as well. How she plans on doing this while inside a specially-conditioned ''game'' is beyond anyone's guess.

* EasilyForgiven: After she's defeated, Wise almost immediately decides to make up with her. Despite the emotional abuse, Kazuno never really apologizing, or the little evidence that she had fundamentally changed.

Her missing the point somehow ticks Medhimama off.
