* NiceJobBreakingItHero: As Zhuqiaomon points out, choosing to seal Haruchika away away rather than killing him only let Haruchika continue to cause harm. This resulted in countless deaths over the years and the current group having to deal with the Master instead.

Added DiffLines:

* VillainHasAPoint: The reason for Zhuqiaomon's animosity towards the group is that the the Sovereign Children refused to kill Haruchika, instead sealing him away with the Sovereigns as his wardens. This decision resulted in Haruchika and his Kenzoku killing untold amounts of Digimon and children over the years, meaning if they ''had'' just finished him off, a lot of damage would've been averted. Zhuqiaomon's words also imply he ''wasn't'' willing in being made part of the Master's seal, which gives him more reason to be angry.

* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: The Master serves as one for Digimon Tamers as a whole and portrays what happens if they let their negative emotions and grief consume and run all over them in the most cynical way possible. Worse is unlike [[Anime/DigimonTamers Megidramon]] or Wendigomon, the Master is no rampaging beast but an actual PhysicalGod with its human partner taking over its consciousness. The end result is an intelligent, willing OmnicidalManiac who not only displays an incredible amount of spite against humans and Kemonogami alike, manipulates his fellow monsters into deals where only he comes out at the top, and desires the destruction of both worlds out under a misguided belief that his sister betrayed him, but also possesses sufficient, god-like powers to actually carry out the threats.

** He's also one to the EvilCounterpart tamer archetype. The difference is that, despite being driven insane by perceived betrayal, unlike the others such as the Digimon Kaiser/Ken, Neo Saiba or Menoa Bellucci who own very powerful Digimon at best and are unable to end worlds on their own, Haruchika's Kemonogami partner is no ordinary monster, but a ''reality-warping Sovereign'' capable of worldwide destruction. This ends up not only getting countless children killed over the centuries, but in the bad ending, also degenerates into an apocalyptic scenario when he manages to kill all other Sovereign Beasts and encroach into the human world to annihilate humanity in order to satisfy his grudge against his sister.

* BigGood: Just like their Digimon Partners, they're the ones who ensure the Master is sealed within the other world.

* FallenHero: Haruchika was one of the five Sovereign Children sacrificed by Yukiha Minase to stop the warring states. However, having been sacrificed and abandoned by his sister, he fell into a deep, heavily misguided form of hatred that turned him into the century-old SerialKiller he is now.

* FinalBoss: In the Moral route, it's genuinely the last obstacle that the humans have to fight.

* BonusBoss: They can be fought as part of the Mugen Recollection Bonus Dungeon as the strongest enemies in the game. And as part of the plot of the Truthful Route, where they are less powerful but still a large step above what came before.

* KilledOffScreen: It's implied that out of the Truthful Route, the Master's minions killed at least Baihumon (likely Ebonwumon and Azulongmon too) so the seals put on him break and he can exact revenge to the human world. Based on how the Master gets beaten before he can compromise the abandoned school however, it's likely that Zhuqiaomon always survives to the end.

* RedemptionDemotion: Wendigomon suffers this in the Truthful route. While his stats might grow to be higher than his form as a boss by levelling up or using stat items, he's only a Champion level Digimon, so he'll be replaced by his higher natural forms by that point.
