One of the show's most recurring villains, Skulker is a ghost obsessed with hunting to such an extent that he's considered the Ghost Zone's greatest predator. Growing bored, he looked to the real world for a challenge and fixated on Danny, whose hybrid nature made for an endlessly exciting hunt. In the BadFuture, he merged with Technus to become Skulktech 9.9.

** His hate for Jack. Vlad's obsession with ruining Jack's life or killing him has not only made him an enemy of his son and earned hate from the woman he lusts for, but it ends up screwing him over at the worst possible time. [[spoiler:In the final episode, he intentionally inputs the wrong coordinates for a rocket that would have destroyed the Disasteroid in order for Jack to look like a fool in front of the whole world, despite that Vlad himself would have still been able to acquire good publicity since he was the one who funded the operation. When he reveals his powers to the world and attempts to make the Disasteroid intangible, he discovers too late it's made of a material that's hazardous to him, meaning he wasted a perfectly good weapon that could saved the Earth just to humiliate one man for nothing. And to top it off, thanks to revealing to Jack how much he hates him and planned to take Maddie from him, Vlad is left with no one to come to his aid.]]
** Overall, it's his inability to move on. With all his intelligence, cunning, wealth and ghost powers, Vlad could've done anything with his life, be just about anything or anyone he could ever want to be. Instead, he uses his many advantages to settle petty grudges and obsess over the few things he ''can't'' have. For example, instead of finding a partner who is a match for him and who could actually love him as he is, he instead obsesses over having his college crush Maddie because he didn't get the chance to ask her out when they were younger, and the family she had with Jack, because one of her kids happens to be half-ghost like him. Likewise, instead of pursuing a legitimate political career and attaining power to enforce real change, he instead steals an election to make himself mayor of a city like [[QuirkyTown Amity Park]], just so he can implement draconian policies for the sole purpose of screwing with his teenage ArchEnemy. In the end, Vlad himself is the one limiting his own potential because he is flat-out unable to let anything go that doesn't work out the way he wants it to.

* Fiction500: Vlad is a billionaire with a huge castle in Wisconsin along with a huge home by the Rockies, owns several of his own companies (i.e. Dalv), as well as many others he literally took over (like Mastersoft, formerly Microsoft), state of the art ghost hunting technology, can easily pay to have everything rebuilt time and time again with no financial worry, and pay for a professional ghost hunting team with superior technology once and easily set a million-dollar bounty on a single ghost. He does reveal to Danny in "Kindred Spirits" that he's used his ghost powers to amass his fortune by committing invisible burglaries and [[DemonicPossession overshadowing other people]] to get them to give him their money.
