!Revenants
Revenants are vampiric beings who are constantly thirsty for and drink blood. They have no memories of their human lives. If a Revenant goes without blood for a long time, he or she succumbs to bloodlust and becomes a Lost.
----
[[folder:In General]]
* BackFromTheDead: Revenants are more or less immortal beings, due to their vampiric nature. If they die, their body disperses into particles and then reforms, though the process can possibly cause memory loss. A Revenant can be killed permanently if the BOR Parasite, which is located inside their heart, is destroyed.
* BloodLust: A major problem for Revenants, who have to sake their thirst via human blood or Blood Beads, the latter of which are in short supply. Succumbing to their thirst for blood is also a sign that they are becoming a Lost.
* GasMaskLongcoat: Due to the miasma within Vein, Revenants are forced to wear gas masks, lest they are overtaken by bloodlust. Special mention goes to Mia, who wears a gas mask and with a long coat.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: A Revenant that succumbs to their bloodlust becomes a Lost, the very thing they fight against. Gregorio Silva's war against Q.U.E.E.N caused the deaths of countless Revenants, as well as the birth of just as many Lost. The protagonist is on the verge of becoming one of the Lost themselves due to breathing in her miasma, thus forcing Jack to MercyKill them.
* KilledOffForReal: Despite being immortal, Revenants can be killed. If their heart - where the BOR Parasite resides - is destroyed, they will turn to ash. The Lost are exempt from this, as the BOR Parasite has bonded with them on the cellular level.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: In the ''Code Vein'' universe, Revenants are humans who had to become bloodsucking creatures in order to adapt and survive the harsh conditions of the Vein. If they do feed on blood, they can become monstrous creatures known as the Lost, the result of a Revenant succumbing to bloodlust.
* ParasiteZombie: Of a sort. The Revenants all carry a parasite called BOR inside their hearts that allows them to constantly regenerate despite the parasite technically making them walking dead. The parasite however needs to be constantly fed or else it will start to erode both their body and mind, causing them to become Lost which are a more straight example of the trope.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: A Revenant's eyes glow red when using their Blood Veils. A few Revenants have red eyes normally, such as the Protagonist and Rui.
* ResurrectiveImmortality: The Revenants to an extent. The Lost and Q.U.E.E.N, however exemplify this trope the most, as they cannot be killed for good. The latter had to be [[SealedEvilInACan split apart into]] [[SoulJar different pieces and entities]] called Successors in order to be defeated. Even then, she is somehow still alive.
* WasOnceAMan: Every Revenant and Lost you encounter was originally a human who had to abandon their humanity following the emergence of the Thorns of Judgement. The Lost are Revenants that have fallen prey to their bloodlust, developing an insatiable thirst.

[[caption-width-right:350:Default look for female Protagonist]]

One of the remaining Revenants in the closed society of "Vein," AKA [[PlayerCharacter you.]] While wandering around Vein in order to survive and fighting against the bloodlust of becoming a Lost, you will encounter and work together with comrades in similar circumstances.
----
* AmnesiacHero: Not only do they start amnesiac due to being revived as a Revenant, they lose more of their memories after Jack has to MercyKill them. Their memories are also uncovered during the story, [[DarkAndTroubledPast with a lot of suffering to come from it]].
* BackFromTheDead: Somehow manages to survive Jack's MercyKill even after getting shot through the heart, the one weakness of Revenants.
* BadassLongcoat: Should you choose to wear either a Type Stinger or Type Ogre Blood Veil, the protagonist will wear one.
* CharacterCustomization: Plenty of choices ranging from your look, your weapons of choice, Gifts and your preferred playstyle with the different Blood Veils available.
* CoatCape: Courtesy of the Type Hound Blood Veil.
* FirstEpisodeResurrection: Twice over. While dying and resurrecting is another day at the office for a Revenant, narratively the protagonist was killed two days prior to the start of the game and wakes up as Operation Queenslayer is about to begin. They are then at the end of it seemingly killed off permanently by Jack after he shot them in the heart, only to resurrect an unspecified time later as usual.
* TheGift: They have the inexplicable and sought-after ability to revive Blood Springs, the source of Blood Beads.
* NewMeat: S/he joins Operation Queenslayer as a fresh soldier and is dubbed "Kid" by Jack.
* ResistTheBeast: After they get exposed to the miasma in the battle against Cruz, they manage to stay in control long enough to sucker-punch her in the belly, finishing her off. Unfortunately, Jack has to MercyKill them right afterwards.
* SoulJar: The protagonist is a Successor candidate, one capable of drinking Q.U.E.E.N's blood without turning into a Lost. Mido even goes on to refer to them as a "seed." And as being a Successor means you have a piece of Q.U.E.E.N infused into your body, the protagonist more than qualifies as this.
* WeaponOfChoice: Promotional screenshots shows the male Protagonist wielding a One-Handed Sword and equipped with the Type Ogre Blood Veil while the female Protagonist wields a Polearm and the Type Stinger Blood Veil.

[[folder:Jack Rutherford]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/code_vein_jack_8.jpg]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/JunichiSuwabe (JP)

A Revenant called the "Revenant Hunter," he is feared by both enemies and allies alike. Just like Yakumo, he is a combat professional with a history in the military, though he was a dancer before the Thorns of Judgement appeared. Aside from working together during their first mission, he has a deep connection to the protagonist, but the details of it are still unknown. The protagonists will have conflicting viewpoints with Jack and Eva, but under specific conditions can work together.
----
* ApologeticAttacker: While he doesn't outright say it, he clearly isn't pleased by the fact that he has to kill the protagonist, without any other solution to save them, so that they won't become a lost (even though they end up surviving).
-->'''Jack''': I pray you have a long and peaceful rest.
* AttackAttackAttack: Uses Gifts that increase attack power and decrease stamina consumption, which allows the player to attack much more often.
* MercyKill: During Operation Queenslayer, the protagonist's gas mask gets knocked off during the skirmish, leading to them slowly becoming one of the Lost. Jack decides that be the best course of action is to kill the protagonist to save them from a FateWorseThanDeath.
* OccultBlueEyes: Unlike the rest of the Revenants, his eyes glow pale blue instead of red. What this means is still unknown.
* RedBaron: Rui refers to him as the "Revenant Hunter" for good reason.
* ThisCannotBe: He is quite shocked to see the Protagonist survive his MercyKill.
* VideoGameDashing: He is the only Partner that evades by performing a dash instead of a roll, which allows him to dodge more effectively while attacking back.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Jack and Eva have been searching for a Successor who can handle the God Arc, one of the pieces harvested from the Queen's body. If the Revenant proves incompatible and becomes unstable, he cuts them down without mercy. It's also what earns him the epithet of "Revenant Hunter."

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/SaoriHayami (JP)

* CoveredWithScars: Apart from the obvious cross-shaped scars on her face, she is covered in all manner of scars across her entire body.
* DueToTheDead: She prays for the Revenants who have died and the ones who didn't survive the God Arc's inheritance test.
* GlassCannon: She can increase the casting speed of Gifts, and uses powerful attack type Gifts, meaning she can attack with powerful Gifts quickly. But she is lacking in physical defense, meaning she can be taken out quickly as well.
* IOweYouMyLife: Her life was saved by Jack, and she now travels alongside him as his companion.
* MusicSoothesTheSavageBeast: Her singing voice prevents the God Arc from running wild when trying to find a successor.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: She uses a Type Ivy Blood Veil.

----
* TheBlacksmith: She is the one that upgrades and improves your equipment.

[[folder:Gregorio Silva]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/code_vein_gre.jpg]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/AkioOhtsuka

A former soldier and Revenant. After the Great Collapse, the birth of the Revenants, and the Q.U.E.E.N. Project, he took command in order to save mankind. * BadassLongCoat: He wears a long trench coat with an enormous fur lined collar.
* BigDamnHeroes: Shows up to even the odds during the Protagonist and Jack's fight with Cruz.
* EmergencyTransformation: The threat of Q.U.E.E.N. was so great that Gregorio arranged to be revived as a Revenant in the event that he died, in order to continue the fight and gain the power to defeat her.
* OffingTheOffspring: It's unknown if Gregorio is aware of it or not, but Q.U.E.E.N. is his daughter. As she is a threat to not only humanity but to Revenants in general, he has no choice but to eliminate his own child.
* RousingSpeech: Delivers one during the start of Operation Queenslayer.
* ShadowDictator: Subverted in the fact that he isn't controlling things from behind the scenes. Following Q.U.E.E.N's defeat, Gregorio had more or less imposed a dictatorship, forcing humans to become livestock under the guise of "protection" while imposing taxes in the form of Blood Beads. Naturally, this puts him at odds with Rui.
* SleevesAreForWimps: His shirt and coat both lack sleeves, showing off his muscular arms.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Cruz Silva]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/code_vein_cruz.jpg]]

The girl that became the test subject of the Q.U.E.E.N. Project. She was a schoolmate of Louis, and is Gregorio Silva's daughter. She withstood painful experiments in hopes of saving mankind, but became destruction incarnate under the pressure of an unsuccessful experiment.
----
* BareHandedBladeBlock: Performs one against Jack when they fight during Operation Q.U.E.E.N. Slayer.
* BattleAura: She is constantly surrounded by a blue glow. This is because her body emits miasma; the concentrations around her are so high that it becomes visible to the naked eye.
* BlackEyesOfCrazy: Cruz has black sclera and is implied to not be entirely sane from the numerous experiments conducted on her. This look is also available to the player as an option in the character creator.
* CompleteImmortality: Like the Lost, she can't be killed permanently due to being the ultimate revenant. The only way around this was to fuse her bodyparts with various individuals with high affinity for it called successors.
* InstitutionalApparel: Even long after her escape, Cruz still wears the hospital gown she wore when she was still being used as a test subject.
* MySiblingWillLiveThroughMe: More like my ''kind will live through me.'' Cruz is immortal like the rest of the Lost, but she was defeated by being split apart into pieces called God Arcs. As the cast soon learns, however, Q.U.E.E.N is ''very'' much still alive, due to her pieces being infused with the Successors.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: What Rui believes after he discovers that [[spoiler:Karen had become a Successor]]. Q.U.E.E.N, despite being sealed into God Arcs, is the reason why Blood Tears are being produced in the first place. He even goes so far as to consider them to be Q.U.E.E.N's tears. The irony is not lost to him.
* PoisonousPerson: Not only does she emit miasma, her blood is toxic. Causing Revenants who drinks it to become lost. The rare few capable of drinking her blood and surviving are sought after for their potential to become successors.
* SealedEvilInACan: Even though the Protagonist managed to injure her, she wasn't killed. Instead, the Revenants had to split her body into pieces. Some of those pieces have been infused into Revenants called Successors. Among them is [[spoiler:Rui's sister, Karen]]. It's implied by Rui that, despite being cut into pieces, Q.U.E.E.N is still alive.
* StormOfBlades: Can conjure and fire a massive barrage of white thorns.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/code_vein_mido.jpg]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/ShowHayami (JP), Creator/KeithSilverstein (EN)

The leading Revenant researcher. Before the Great Collapse, Mido adopted orphans and repeatedly conducted experiments on them, then sent those experiments to the battlefield as soldiers. For the sake of his research, he even uses himself as material for experimentation, and has thus become a stronger Revenant.
----
* EvilSoundsDeep: He has a deep and foreboding voice with a slight metallic echo.
* MadScientist: He is notorious for conducting inhumane experiments on test subjects. He is not even above using himself as a test subject.

* MysticalWhiteHair: Fitting with her MysteriousWaif nature, she has white hair.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: She wears a Type Ivy Blood Veil.
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Her cloths do not cover her back, which is completely exposed.
* ShockAndAwe: She uses Lightning element as her attack Gifts.

* WeaponOfChoice: Uses halberds as her main offensive tool, backed up with a Type Ivy Blood Veil.

* BigSisterInstinct: She is determined to protect her younger brother Nicola, and will even threaten her own allies if she thinks they are a threat to his safety.
* AnIcePerson: Uses Ice element for an attack Gift that she only uses during boss battles called "Guard of Honor" which creates several spears of ice around her before shooting them at her target.
* LongRangeFighter: She prefers to engage enemies at a distance but can fight in close range if the situation arises.
* NiceHat: She wears a tall papaha hat to match her little brother's.
* WeakButSkilled: Her damage output is a bit lower compared to the other Partners but she can support the player by strengthening their Drain and Gift performance to enable more usage of powerful Gifts in combat.

[[folder:Jack Rutherford]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/code_vein_jack_8.jpg]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/JunichiSuwabe (JP)

----
* BloodLust: A screenshot indicates she will suffer of bad blood thirst at one point in the game. How important this will be is still unknown.

She is exposed to the protagonist's ability to see glimpses of peoples' memories, and hopes to confront her past.
----
* TheBlacksmith: She is the one that upgrades and improves your equipment.
* ShellShockedVeteran: Rin used to be a very skilled soldier and was said to be able to lead an army. However, some incident in her past traumatized so much that she can't take to the field anymore. She instead settles on being a weapons merchant.

Perhaps because he has fought many battles, he has lost most of his memories from when he was alive. [[folder:Gregorio Silva]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/code_vein_gre.jpg]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/AkioOhtsuka

A former soldier and Revenant. After the Great Collapse, the birth of the Revenants, and the Q.U.E.E.N. Project, he took command in order to save mankind. He determined that the rampaging Q.U.E.E.N. would become a threat to mankind, started a fight to defeat Q.U.E.E.N., and even revived himself as a Revenant to take command.
----
* AbusiveParents: Not only did he put his own daughter through horrific experiments to create the ultimate Revenant, but even after her defeat [[spoiler:it is implied that he is using her to produce the blood tears]].

Replaced "Red Right Hand" with "Power Fist" in Rui/Louis's folder. Whoever added it seems to have mistaken the meaning, as the example provided relates to him using the Ogre type Blood Veil which is a literal Red Right Hand. I also added "The Leader", since he is described as such in promotional material and described as being the one in charge.

* BadassLongCoat: He wears a long trench coat with an enormous fur lined collar.

* EmergencyTransformation: He saw the threat that Q.U.E.E.N. represented to mankind and led the fight against her, going as far as to have himself revived as a Revenant after his death in order to continue the fight and gain the power to defeat her.
* OffingTheOffspring: It's unknown if Gregorio is aware of it or not, but Q.U.E.E.N. is his daughter. As she is a threat to not only humanity but to Revenants in general, he has no choice but to eliminate his own child.

* BackFromTheDead: Revenants are more or less immortal beings, due to their vampiric nature. If they die, their body disperses into particles and then reforms, though the process can possibly cause memory loss. A Revenant called the "Revenant Hunter," he is feared by both enemies and allies alike. Just like Yakumo, he is a combat professional with a history in the military. Aside from working together during their first mission, he has a deep connection to the protagonist, but the details of it are still unknown. The protagonists will have conflicting viewpoints with Jack and Eva, but under specific conditions can work together.
