* FirstEpisodeResurrection: While dying and resurrecting is another day at the office for a Revenant, narratively the protagonist was seemingly killed off permanently by Jack after he shot them in the heart, only to resurrect as usual.

Revenants are vampiric beings who are constantly thirsty for and drink blood. They have no memories of themselves when they were humans. If a Revenant goes without blood for a long time, he or she succumbs to bloodlust and becomes a Lost.

If they die, their body disperses into particles and then reforms, though the process can possibly cause memory loss. A Revenant can be killed if the BOR Parasite, which is located inside their heart, is destroyed.
* BloodLust: A major problem for Revenants, who have to sake their thirst via human blood or Blood Beads, the latter of which are in short supply. Succumbing to their thirst for blood is also a sign that they are becoming a Lost.
* GasMaskLongcoat: Due to the miasma within Vein, Revenants are forced to wear gas masks, lest they be overtaken by blood lust. Special mention goes to Mia, who wears a gas mask and with a long coat.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: A Revenant that succumbs to their blood lust becomes a Lost, the very thing they fight against. Gregorio Silva's war against Q.U.E.E.N caused the deaths of countless Revenants, as well as the birth of just as many Lost. The protagonist is on the verge of becoming one of the Lost themselves due to breathing in her miasma, thus forcing Jack to MercyKill them.

* KilledOffForReal: Despite being immortal, Revenants can be killed. If their heart - where the BOR Parasite resides - is destroyed, they will turn to ash. The Lost are exempt from this, as the BOR Parasite has bonded with them on the cellular level.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: In the ''Code Vein'' universe, Revenants are humans who had to become blood sucking creatures in order to adapt and survive the harsh conditions of the Vein. If they do feed on blood, they can become monstrous creatures known as the Lost, the result of a Revenant succumbing to bloodlust.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: A Revenant's eyes glow red when using their Blood Veils. A few Revenants have red eyes normally, such as the Protagonist and Rui.
* WasOnceAMan: Every Revenant and Lost you encounter was originally a human who had to abandon their humanity following the emergence of the Thorns of Judgement. The Lost are Revenants that have fallen prey to their bloodlust, developing an insatiable thirst.

!Revenants

* MysteriousWaif: Io is a mysterious white haired revenant the protagonist comes across after having come back from Jack's MercyKill. She seems to have lost all of her memories, but she possesses the power to return the memories of other revenants.

* LongRangeFighter: She prefer to engage enemies at a distance but can fight in close range if the situation arises.

* JackOfAllStats: Uses a One-Handed Sword, can fight in both close and long range, and uses devastating Gifts.

* MercyKill: During Operation Queenslayer, the protagonist's gas mask gets knocked off during the skirmish, leading to them slowly becoming one of the Lost. Jack decides that be best course of action is to kill the protagonist to save them from a FateWorseThanDeath.

* CoveredWithScars: Apart from the obvious cross shaped scars on her face, she is covered in all manner of scars across her entire body.
* GlassCannon: She can increase the use speed of Gifts and has powerful attack type Gifts, meaning she can attack with powerful Gifts quickly. But she is lacking in physical defense, meaning she can be taken out quickly as well.

* ShellShockedVeteran: Rin used to be a very skilled solider and was said to be able to lead an army. However, some incident in her past traumatized so much that she can't take to the field any more. She instead settle on being a weapons merchant.

One of the researchers who worked on the Q.U.E.E.N. Project, and Louis' older sister. She died during Q.U.E.E.N.'s rampage, but was immediately revived as a Revenant. She also participates in Operation Queenslayer, serves as a protective observer of Revenants returning from death, and supports their fight.

* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: She became a successor to seal the Queen, and is apparently the source of the Blood Tears. However only a limited amount seems to have been created. She prevents it from being a SenselessSacrifice in that it effectively stops the Queen for a while, but new successors have to be found to continue the cycle.]]

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: What Rui believes after he discovers that [[spoiler:Karen had become a Successor.]] Q.U.E.E.N, despite being sealed into God Arcs, is the reason why Blood Tears are being produced in the first place. He even goes so far as to consider them to be Q.U.E.E.N's tears. The irony is not lost to him.

* SealedEvilInACan: Even though the Protagonist had managed to injure her, she wasn't killed. Instead, the Revenants had to split her body into pieces. Some of those pieces have been infused into Revenants called Successors. Among them is [[spoiler:Rui's sister, Karen]]. It's implied by Rui that, despite being turned into pieces, Q.U.E.E.N is still alive.

A Revenant called the "Revenant Hunter," he is feared by both enemies and allies alike. Just like Yakumo, he is a combat professional with a history in the military. He seems to have a deep connection to the protagonist. The protagonists will have conflicting viewpoints with Jack and Eva, but under specific conditions can work together.

* SealedEvilInACan: The protagonist is a Successor candidate, one capable of drinking the Queen's blood without turning into a Lost. Mido even goes on to refer to them as a "seed."
