Ismael Franz-Peter Goldmann. One of the first two people to ever get powers, and partially responsible for Point Zero. The worlds top (and first) supervillain. The King of Supervillains, the Father of Metahumanity.

* TheFaceless: He wears one of his Darkwraiths at all times. Only a handful of people have seen his face in the past ninety years. Or, per FridgeLogic, maybe they have and they just didn't know.

The first child of Lady Light and the Dark.
* AdaptiveAbility: In addition to several permanent abilities, she's able to change powersets at will, generally manifesting an offensive ability, a defensive ability and one for utility.
* TheAloner: When Ember looks at her "world" he sees that she has no connections to anyone.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: Averted ''hardcore.'' She's been described as exceptionally beautiful, but she's a force of pure, unending destruction.
* ChestBurster: By WordOfGod, Desolation-in-Light [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe bisected Lady Light]] when she manifested in the womb. Lady Light survived, barely.
* FetusTerrible: She manifested while still in the womb. She proceeded to teleport away, age herself up, and [[BreadEggsMilkSquick destroy Los Angeles]].
* LightIsNotGood: She's the child of Lady Light and the Dark. The 'Desolation' part is key here: an insufficient response (or just plain bad luck) will result in her destroying a city or worse. The 'Light' part comes from her ever-active [[SphereOfPower Desolation Field]].

Oddly, she still dedicates part of her AdaptiveAbility to defensive aspects.

* RapunzelHair: Her hair is roughly ten times her height. And she's two meters tall.
* UnskilledButStrong: That she does not use her powers intelligently is her only weakness, and she tends to react to any interference with her current power set by completely changing it. Her powers grow stronger the longer she has them, so getting her to change powers frequently reduces the damage she deals. It's a pity one of her permanent powers is [[NoSell invulnerability]].

The world's top (and first) superhero(ine). Queen of Superheroes, the Mother of Metahumanity.

* GoKartingWithBowser: She often visits Queen Madeleine for tea and talk.
* HardLight: Her power is to conjure hard-light constructs with various abilities.
* BewareTheSuperman: She never calls herself a superhero, is in a relationship with The Dark and only gets away with it because she is powerful enough to take Weisswald one on one.
* MinorMajorCharacter: She is one of the most important superheroes in the story, is directly connected to at least two other major characters, and basically founded the HeroesRUs that keeps the world from being dominated by supervillains, yet the closes she has come to appearing in the narrative proper is a phone call with the Dark.

* OlderThanTheyLook: one of the first superhumans
* PersonOfMassDestruction: one of the strongest in existence.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: She believes that if nonviolent methods have failed, this is the only rational response.

Currently, Amazon is the adult leader of the New Lennston division (due to most heroes being on the Iron Wall). Tartsche is the captain of the Juniors, which include Spellgun, Outstep, Polymnia, Gloom Glimmer, Osore and Bakeneko.

* BarrierWarrior: When he's standing still he's invulnerable, and can spread this invulnerability to anything or anyone he's touching. By WordOfGod, even if you destroyed the ground beneath him (and he habitually extends his power over it anyway), he would just float in the air until he chose to move.
* GunsAkimbo: Tartsche does this. The LawOfInverseRecoil is justified in this case, as his power makes him immovable while active (and presumably protects him against the noise).

* YaoiGuys: Spellgun's boyfriend.

* {{Bishonen}}: A PR manager of the UH once suggested that he pretend to be a girl if he was to make his relationship with Tartsche public. Lady Light overheard the conversation. She was not amused.

The second child of Lady Light and the Dark, she chose to become a hero.
* AdaptiveAbility: Her power gives her what it thinks she needs.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She an inhumanly beautiful dark-haired girl who often acts like an EmotionlessGirl.
* BlessedWithSuck: Due to her power messing with her head, she is very weak against psychic assault.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Exacerbated by her PowerIncontinence.
* FetusTerrible: Like her sister, she manifested in the womb - and received her first shot of power suppressants less than a minute later, to prevent her ending up like her sister Desolation-in-Light.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands
* PowerIncontinence: She can't control what her power gives her, and has to take several special pills a minute just to rein it in. Otherwise, her power gives her whatever it thinks she needs - such as a powerful sexual glamour when she wants to impress her new teammates, or telepathy or clairvoyance to answer every idle thought - and she can't turn it off. It also doesn't like the pills, and will try to discourage her from taking them.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: She tries to maintain an aloof and professional attitude with most people, but if you get to know her well, you'll find an awkward tween who [[IJustWantToHaveFriends justs wants to have friends]].
* UncannyValley: Most people are freaked out by her. She's been described as something that pretends to be human, but can't get it completly right.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: she's actually 12 years old

!!! Polymnia
* BFG: she made one with Brennus.
* BlessedWithSuck: her powers are focused on sonics. As a result, socially she is great with vocal sublteties. She can;t get non-vocal unless they're blindingly obvious.
* BrownNote: Not only does she have basic sonic attacks to disrupt the inner ear or overwhelm with sound, she uses an actual Brown Note against a villain.
* DeflectorShields: Although not true force-fields, Polymnia worked out how to create a 'sonic cage', which provides some defense against objects.
* Series/DoctorWho: she made a sonic screwdriver. It only drives screws.
* GadgeteerGenius: She's a Gadgeteer who specializes in sonics.
* HotScientist: She is described as very curvaceous and pretty and is a gadgeteer.
* IdolSinger: Polymnia is a famous performer, known as the "Metahuman Popprincess".
* LoudOfWar: As a Gadgeteer specializing in sonics, her combat is based around this.
* MachineMonotone: Averted. Although her manifestation rendered her mute (so she speaks through a voice synthesizer or SignLanguage) she custom-built her own vocoder, which sounds very like a true human voice.
* MostCommonSuperpower: She's an Adonis type.
* NoPlansNoPrototypeNoBackup: Polymnia 'hears' her designs as melodies and symphonies.
* PowerAtAPrice: When Polymnia manifested her gadgeteering (with a sonics specialization) she became mute.
* SensualSpandex: Her costume is partially transparent.
* SpiderLimbs: Polymnia's PoweredArmor is mostly these - ten of them, in fact. Four hold her up, two hold specialized keyboards, and the other four hold eight speakers each. They are, of course, mounted on the back of her armour.
* StevenUlyssesPerhero: Polymnia is a sounds-based Gadgeteer who cannot speak. Her birth-name is Melody. Justified in that her family is apparently very musical - her inability to perform any kind of music is what led to her manifestation, which resulted in an appropriate power.
* SuperSenses: She has enhanced hearing. It's not always a good thing, especially in combat situations.

* ConvenientlyAnOrphan: The reason why Basil and Amy don't need to worry about any parental interference.
* FighterMageThief: With Brennus as the Fighter, Hecate as the Mage and Tyche as the Thief.
* FireForgedFriends: Brennus, Tyche and Hecate meet each other while trying to defeat the Snow Queen, and only manage it due to each others' assistance.
* HistoryWithCelebrity: They are close friends with the international superstar Polymnia, though only Hecate really cares.
* PowerTrio: Our three heroes are Brennus, Tyche and Hecate.
* WakeUpGoToSchoolSaveTheWorld: Generally averts the "school is more difficult part", but Brennus and co. are all in highschool, as are the United Junior Heroes.


!!! Basil / Brennus
* AlliterativeName: Basileus Bartholomew Balthasar Brant-Blake. His sister is Amanda Blake, so it seems she was spared. Basil then picks the codename Brennus.
* AnimalThemedSuperbeing: Brennus is a more subtle example of an animal themed alias. He's themed after ravens, and he named himself after [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brennus Brennus]], which was the title of a real life ancient chieftain who wore a raven-themed helmet. Obviously, Brennus decides very early on that having robotic ravens to assist him is an awesome idea.
* {{BFG}}: He made one with Polymnia.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When his sister reveals that she's a supervillain in the prologue, Basil asks questions about her job and costume, to her surprise, establishing him as the kind of person who stays calm and focuses on the details.
* GadgeteerGenius: He's one of these.
* GiveGeeksAChance: Brennus is close to and regularly spends time with five girls explicitly stated to be extremely if not inhumanly gorgeous. Out of those five, at he is in a relationship with 1, has had two express mild romantic feelings or flirtation with him, and the last two get along with him better than any of the other guys they regularly hang with.
* HomemadeInventions: He builds a supercomputer and a small electromagnetic power generator in two days and is working on a [[RayGun "remote detonator for inorganic, rigid matter"]] when his sister catches him. She'd been away for three days: the first one was spent writing scripts to buy things without being tracked and waiting on express shipping.
* IgnoreTheFanservice: Basil got used to scantily-clad attractive women while growing up with his sister, and now barely notices it except to ask them to PleasePutSomeClothesOn.
* LightningGun: He develops one of these as a StunGun, although it takes quite a bit of power to use.
* MissingTime: This has been happening to both Amy and Basil, although neither of them have told the other. It doesn't help that they tend to forget they've forgotten things.
* NoSocialSkills: WordOfGod: `Brennus has a negative social rating. In a system where there are no negative ratings.'
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: He seems to be this, which is unusual for a gadgeteer.
* PoweredArmour: Brennus would never be able to engage in combat without his suit.
* ScienceHero
* SingleTargetSexuality: He ignores Tyche's [[ShamelessFanserviceGirl naked antics]] with ease, doesn't bat an eye at working with a [[NakedPeopleAreFunny naked Hecate]], and never shows attraction to [[HelloNurse Polymnia]] or [[WorldsMostBeautifulWoman Gloom Glimmer]], yet he has a very healthy libido around his girlfriend [[spoiler: after she manifests a gorgeous body]].
* TeenGenius: Basil is naturally smart, and his Gadgeteering power kicked it up with respect to certain things. He has to build a custom computer with processing power measured in petaflops just to keep up with the calculations he can do in his head.
* ThickerThanWater: Basil doesn't like that Amy is a supervillain, but she's still his sister.
* {{Vibroweapon}}: Brennus develop one of these after looking at some of Polymnia's tech.

!!! Amy / Mindstar
* ArsenalAttire: Mindstar wears [[CombatStilettos high-heels]]. One of the heels is a knife, the other is a communication device.
* BerserkButton: Amy is very protective of Basil.
* ClothingDamage: Mindstar does this to her opponents, because the [[ShamefulStrip association of nudity to helplessness]] makes them more susceptible to her telepathy.
* CombatStilettos: The second question Basil asks Mindstar is how she manages this. She uses her telekinesis to help herself manouevre when she's not outright flying.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Lady Light, Gloom Glimmer and Mindstar have each had aspects of this.
* JourneyToTheCentreOfTheMind: Amy looks inside Basil's head, with permission. Even so, Basil's mind doesn't let her wander around freely, and eventually forcefully ejects her.
* [[KnightTemplarBigBrother KnightTemplarBigSister]]: Amy is ''very'' protective of Basil.
* MindControl: Mindstar is an apex-tier universal telepath, which makes her capable of this. The world only found out when it turned out that Amazon didn't have a FaceHeelTurn, but was under Mindstar's control. This bumped Mindstar up to S-Class.
* MissingTime: This has been happening to both Amy and Basil, although neither of them have told the other. It doesn't help that they tend to forget they've forgotten things.
* OutWithABang: When Mindstar kills Switchbitch. The sex was more Mindstar enjoying torture way too much.
* PowerStrainBlackout: Amy has one of these after her delve into Basil's mind.
* PromotedToParent: Amy is Basil's older sister and guardian since their parents died about a year before the story started. She used her powers to [[MindControl convince]] the judges.
* SerialRapist: Amy raped Amazon, both in body and in mind, several times, as well as an entire sorority. Despite this, she remains sympathetic for some reason. [[spoiler: Subverted however, when The Dark reveals that he did some investigating after discovering that Amy and Basil's [[FakeMemories memories were altered]], that includes Amy's sexual escapades. Both she and her willing and unwilling partners have complete memories of the events, including Amazon, but none of them ever took place. He even confirms that Amy is in fact, still a virgin. Amy remains completely unaware of this]]
* PsychicAssistedSuicide: Mindstar did this to her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend.
* {{Shapeshifting}}: Amy has a low-grade Morphing power, able to change herself cosmetically. She uses it to change her natural colouration (leading EyeColourChange and KaleidoscopeHair) and slightly shift her facial structure to enhance her ClarkKenting.
* SuperpowerLottery: At one point, Basil outright say she won it. Although her powers are technically only Apex-tier, she has some sub-powers that increase her flexibility, including using her telekinesis for invisibility and a localized clairvoyance that allows her to use her telekinesis or telepathy without line-of-sight.

Sometimes it's PlayedForLaughs (Dalia and her ShamelessFanserviceGirl behavior) and sometimes it's PlayedForDrama (Basil and his memory troubles).
* StupidSexyFriend: Struggles with emerging feelings for Basil.
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: Hecate is a big fan of Polymnia. She actually [[{{Squee}} Squees]].
* YouKilledMyFather: The reason she became a vigilante rather than joining the United Heroes. [[spoiler: Mindstar killed her cousin, who was a superhero,]] and she wants revenge, something she knows the UH wouldn't condone.
