-->'''Franchise:''' Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sonics_return_0.png]]
A blue [[FunnyAnimal Hedgehog]] from Creator/{{Sega}}'s lead franchise, ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog''. Sonic was the original mascot of ''Gory Toons'' and one of the four original characters who starred in the very first episode of the series. Faithful to his trademark since his inception, Sonic has the ability to run at a very fast speed. He is one of the few characters to be portrayed like their original counterpart accurately. Of course, {{flanderization}} still comes into play, as he frequently kills other characters in most episodes starring him. He's in a debate mini-series called "Chubby Short Hungry Aliens" where he antagonizes Mario.
------
* BlueIsHeroic: Is a hero and has blue fur
* ConjoinedEyes: Doesn't stop his eyes from separating for occasional deaths.
* CowardlyLion: He is usually shown running away from various antagonists and hazards, even though he's more than capable of defending himself.
* DecoyProtagonist: Was initially the SeriesMascot and most prominent character. However, [=SpongeBob=] replaced his role.... severely.
* DemotedToExtra: After Season 6, Sonic's prominence quickly dwindled down, to the point of being considered a minor character. He outright stopped making frequent appearances as well.
* DirtyCoward: Nearly every episode starring Sonic has the blue rodent timorously dashing from a hazard or villain at the expense of his fellow bystanders.
* FatalFlaw: His recklessness. It has gotten himself and others killed.
* {{Flanderization}}: Sonic's cockiness has been exaggerated greatly. In his video games, Sonic was definitely arrogant to a degree and his attitude is a crucial setback that has placed him and his friends in a heap of trouble on a few occasions, but he was still relatively smart and knew when he needs to be serious. In ''Gory Toons'', Sonic is extremely impulsive and self-centered and he mainly puts his daily jogs above everybody else, even his own safety. This sort of recklessness has caused the deaths of others and his own several times.
* {{Foil}}: To Flaky. Sonic's headstrong and brave while Flaky is shy and cowardly.
* KarmicDeath: Whenever Sonic dies, he'll deserve it for his reckless behavior.
* LethalKlutz: Sonic's careless behavior has given him several kills. He might seem cool, but Sonic is evidently clumsy to a deadly extent.
* LovableCoward: However, you gotta love how cowardly he is. Running from bullets and stalking antagonists seems justifiable.
* NiceGuy: He's just a dude who wants everyone to have a good time.
* PricklyPorcupine: He's technically a hedgehog but his quills often cause the demise of other characters.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red Oni With Flaky's Blue Oni. Funnily enough, their colors exactly match these two Onis as well, yet the colored Onis themselves have been swapped.
* SpikeShooter: His quills will occasionally launch off of his back, usually at either his or others' expense.
* SuperSpeed: While it varies greatly, this trait has surely stayed with Sonic.
* TemporarilyAVillain:
** In "You're Too Slow!", he is played as a troublemaking hedgehog who is infamous across town for his impulsive antics. He also recklessly kills Cub, which instigated a feud between him and Sonic.
** In the old "Chubby Short Hungry Aliens" spin-off, most animations have Sonic as the provoker in the fights between him and Mario.
** "Sonic‘s quest for the Chilly Dog shop" has Sonic be the protagonist who kills many other characters in the episode, basically while searching for an alleged "[[SeverelySpecializedStore Chilly Dog shop]]".
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: Probably one of the few male examples. He is a [[BlueBoyPinkGirl blue]] MascotWithAttitude with a radical exterior.
* TooDumbToLive:
** In "Sonic Boom (But it's actually good)", he aimlessly runs off a cliff, leading him to unsurprisingly fall right to his death.
** In general, Sonic doesn't seem too aware of his surroundings, telling by "You're Too Slow!". Most particularly, he dashes into Cuddles and Toothy while they were playing with a match. Worst of all, in that situation, he looked at them while doing so and absolutely knew what he was getting himself into.
** For some reason, in "And It Just Fixs", Sonic drives his car ''off'' the road and into an obvious car crash.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Chilly dogs. So much so, that it is worth dying for.

[[folder:Lumpy]]
-->'''Debut:''' Popcorn
-->'''Gory Toons Debut:''' Zombodie Told Me
-->'''Franchise:''' WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends
[[quoteright:450:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gory_toons_kirby_episode.png]]
A dumb [[FunnyAnimal blue moose]] from the web series, ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends''. Lumpy, as the codifier of MooseAreIdiots, takes his status as LethallyStupid in stride. He is physically the tallest and needless to say, doesn't emote any recurring features shared among the other characters.

Having been very prominent in the series, Lumpy has one of the highest numbers of appearances. He also has one of the highest kill counts, has the most jobs, and has the highest number of survived episodes.

He is often utilized in comedic gags, such as making a baffling cameo or being an unexpected plot element. He usually lives in a trailer, has quite the appetite, and because of his size and build, can survive injuries far more grievous than others. Unfortunately, that also means that Lumpy tends to have some of the longest and most torturous deaths in the series.
----
* ActionSurvivor: You'd be surprised on how many risky situations Lumpy managed to survive. For example, he survived a shoot-up by Elmer Fudd in "The Legendary Spatula", an ear screeching rant by [=SpongeBob=] in "Essay episode", a carnivore rampage by [=SpongeBob=] in "A normal [=SpongeBob=] episode", a murderous spree of Ned Flanders "Dial D For Diddly 2", and a zombie encounter by a zombified Cuddles in "Zombodie Told Me".
* AdultsAreUseless: As most adults in the series are outrageously incompetent, Lumpy is beyond the worst examples, with ''only'' Pop shown to be far stupider.
* AntiRoleModel: Lumpy became more villainous in this series, so a few episodes have designed him this way, like "Art(?)" or "Pop Mate". Hardly works since most of the characters are assholes, however.
* AscendedExtra: While Lumpy was already one of the main characters before, his prominence has rapidly gotten large enough to overshadow several other of the ''Happy Tree Friend''s characters. One can argue that he is ''the'' representative of the aforementioned series that is in ''Gory Toons'', as he technically has the most screen time and development than a large majority of other Tree Friends [[note]]His comical cameos and occasional BigDamnHeroes or BigBad moments might have something to do with it[[/note]].
* AssholeVictim: Lumpy has been made inherently evil. Well, maybe not evil per se, but his antagonistic role has been treated rather as an actual defining character trait instead of a role Lumpy happens to take often. Thus, a further percent of his deaths fall under this category:
** In "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!", he is depicted as a [[DirtyCop horrendous cop who murders several guiltless people over selfish desires.]] Later on, his attempt to steal Patrick's donut bites him in the ass, where Lumpy is electrocuted and gets his nose blown open.
** In "A Lumpy way to the Hospital", after running over many innocent civilians with his ambulance, he and Handy are crushed to death by a massive brain.
** In "Art(?)", he steals many artifacts from a museum for seemingly no reason other than being greedy. Later on, while driving his car inside the museum, he eventually crashes and gets turned into Taxidermy by Brian Griffin.
* BigBrotherInstinct: The moment when the smaller Toons are in peril, he will go out of his way to save them. Though, he usually ends killing them or himself by accident.
* BigEater: Lumpy is known for eating lots of foods. Sandwiches and meats are his particular favorites.
* TheBigGuy: Comparatively, Lumpy is actually the tallest character (or at least stands at the exact height as the other adults).
* BlueIsHeroic: Lumpy is a blue and well-intended moose.
* BodyPocket: Lumpy has evident chest pockets in his fur.
* BornLucky: DependingOnTheWriter. Lumpy survives a lot of dangerous situations but he can also die the worst deaths.
* ButtMonkey: Lumpy's deaths are slower and more painful than others due to his strength and size. And while he has a high survival rate, he shares the highest amount of deaths with Pop among characters who rarely die.
* CatchPhrase: "Mm-hmm."
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass:
** Whenever Lumpy and Fliqpy are at odds, Lumpy is actually the one who mostly wins.
** In "A normal [=SpongeBob=] episode", he spits a dart onto [=SpongeBob's=] filled stomach and defeats him, stopping his [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext carnivorus rampage]].
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Along with Sniffles and Kirby, he suffers some of the worst deaths. In "And It Just Fixs!", he crashes his car into a tree, gets crushed between the said tree and several other cars, gets launched into the air by the explosion of his car, has his lower half sliced off once he landed onto the ground, and gets impaled into the skull by a steering wheel.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "A Lumpy way to the Hospital", "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!", "Art(?)", "Pop Mate", "Busin' My Mass", and "Zombodie Told Me".
* TheDitz: Lumpy's stupidity is the driving force behind the plots of many episodes.
* FriendToAllChildren: Whenever the other Toons are portrayed as children, Lumpy is a good sport.
* TheFool: Lumpy is among the clumsier and more gullible of the adult population, but to his credit, his survival rate is relatively decent.
* GeniusDitz: Though made notorious by his impaired mentality, several episodes had made Lumpy surprisingly competent or wise.
* GentleGiant: Is taller than most other Toons and usually a very nice character.
* {{Greed}}: Lumpy has been this on a few occasions, especially in "Art(?)".
* IdiotHoudini: Several episodes have him being the accidental sole cause of the carnage that ensues but his luck tends to keep him alive. Most famously in "Pop Mate", where Lumpy is the cause of three separate deaths.
* KarmicDeath: A large portion of Lumpy's deaths relate to him doing something thoughtless, usually while on the job, and since he is portrayed as an antagonistic character more frequently, a bigger chunk of his deaths serve as an [[LaserGuidedKarma comeuppance]].
* KindheartedSimpleton: Whenever he's not an antagonist or a LethalKlutz, his good-intended self emerges. He goes out of his way to perform heroic actions just to help others, which includes putting his own life on the line.
* TheKlutz: It goes without saying that Lumpy's clumsiness is a defining trait of his.
* LackOfEmpathy: He is moreover the villain in the series, so moments where he openly disregards another character's death occurs more frequently.
* LethalKlutz: He has caused the several deaths of many characters, thanks to his stupditiy.
* LethallyStupid: He ''is'' the TropeCodifier after all. His stupidity was already known for causing many deaths.
* MadeOfIron: Despite being one of the most unintelligent characters out of the Toons, he is the one who survives the most -- a more common occurrence is [[LethallyStupid "Too Dumb For Those Around Him To Live"]]. It seems to have a reason -- he is the tallest and probably strongest of the cast excluding Splendid and Kirby, so the times he doesn't die immediately, he often gets injured.
* {{Manchild}}: Frequently engages in child activities with the rest of the cast.
* MooseAreIdiots: Essentially the trope's codifier.
* NewJobAsThePlotDemands: Ranging from surgeon to police officer, Lumpy sticks out for the multitude of different jobs he has held, despite this trope being commonplace for essentially everybody in the series.
* NiceGuy: In most of his appearances, he's usually a well-intentioned guy.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: His expressions are not HTF-esque for obvious reasons.
* OddFriendship: With Sheila Broflovski and Brooklyn Guy in some instances. In "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO", Lumpy and Brooklyn Guy are tasked by Sheila to arrest Plankton together. In "Cub the prodigy bear", Lumpy and Sheila join forces to help Pop rescue Cub from a ostensive education program.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: He plays the [[VillainProtagonist villain]] in a ton of episodes. Seriously, if you thought [=SpongeBob=] became out of character, you haven't seen Lumpy.
** An especially jarring example includes two separate scenes in "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!", he killed two people just to take their food, while on the job as a police officer no less. The first scene had him literally tore open and mutilate Cub for a lollipop!
** And if '''''that''''' wasn't enough, there are various episodes that portrays Lumpy as competent, to the extent where he is unironically the hero.
** In "Zombodie Told Me", he does a sneak-attack on a vicious zombified Cuddles by smacking his head with a wooden club, which smashes his skull open, killing Cuddles. Knowing this lethal moose, you'd expect him to mistake a trick-or-treater as the zombie.
** In "A normal [=SpongeBob=] episode", Lumpy hides inside a bush alongside other survivors of [=SpongeBob=]'s cannibalistic rampage and shoots a tranquilizer dart at the latter's stomach, causing it to rupture and stop [=SpongeBob=]'s spree.
** On a rather frequent basis, Lumpy makes a fool out of Fliqpy (and on occasion, other villains) using wits as opposed to pure luck. In "Flippy's Rampage (And Mr. Krabs new bank machine)", he succeeds in apprehending Fliqpy and Mr. Krabs by tazing them both. Lumpy also once casually uppercuts Fliqpy's head off while he was running towards him in "Cub the prodigy bear".
* RunningGag:
** His strange [[TheCameo cameos]].
** On some occasions, Lumpy appears during the last second in an abrupt fashion to cause a significant plot element.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: Lumpy speaks with a deep voice, but in his death throes and instances of torture, he has a high-pitched scream.
* SimpletonVoice: Lumpy speaks with a deep voice.
* SmartBall:
** Lumpy defeats the zombified Cuddles in "Zombodie Told Me".
** He also managed to outsmart Fliqpy in the episode "Cub the prodigy bear"
* TooDumbToLive: That trait surely stayed. His stupidity is a blatant hazard that proves detrimental for both others and himself.
* TemporarilyAVillain:
** In "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!", where he kills many innocent people just to steal their belongings.
** In "Art(?)", he robs several artefacts from a museum.
* WeirdnessMagnet: Lumpy still has the habit for attracting or involving himself into the weirdest situations possible and this time, it ''really'' is saying something, considering what type of web-series ''Gory Toons'' is. From [=SpongeBob=]'s ridiculous episode where he swallows everybody else, to casually being in the middle of Cuddles' zombification and killing spree, this moose is probably the most likely to endure the surreal events that regularly occurs in ''Gory Toons''.

[[folder:Petunia]]
[[hardline]]
-->'''Debut:''' Eggman's New Scheme
-->'''Gory Toons Debut:''' Splendid What Mondon't
-->'''Franchise:''' WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/petunia_splendid_episode.png]]
A blue [[FunnyAnimal skunk]] from the web-franchise, ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends''. She debuted in the very first episode and has been one of the most prominent Toons since then.

Petunia remains severely mysophobic, making her act callously on occasions. Sadly, none of the ill-hygienic residences ever seem to heed her OCD. To add insult to injury, her deaths are among the messiest and the most outlandish. Petunia was once one of the only Toons to have never killed someone else, until the episodes “OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!” and “Come Clean, Scumbag!”. She is also the only character to have suffered a heart attack.
----
* AfraidOfBlood: Went absolutely balastic when a drop of blood was on her forehead in "Hyper-Activites". {{Justified}}, as she is a neat-freak after all.
* AlphaBitch: Her personality has been renovated into this, either for [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold better]] or [[AxCrazy worse]].
* AsideGlance: She looks at the camera angrily several times in "Come Clean, Scumbag" due to the unhygienic town she lives in.
* BlueIsHeroic: A blue skunk who is one of the main protagonists.
* ButtMonkey: Even by the standards of this series, her deaths can be pretty brutal. She's also only survived a single starring role throughout the entire series ("Airport building madness").
* CuteAndPsycho: She is may look sweet but she is also murderous. For example, her resort to keeping cleanness is a rampage of death to the other citizens.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "Come Clean, Scumbag"
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Oddly, she went through the character development again. At first, she started out as a PaletteSwap of Giggles, except for her design; she would later grow into the extreme NeatFreak she is in the show.
* FlatCharacter: Before being given her NeatFreak personality, Petunia, as mentioned, was just another Giggles.
* FurryReminder: In "Splendid What Mondon't", upon witnessing Kirby's house having been caught on fire, Splendid uses Petunia as a pseudo-fire-extinguisher, aiming her buttocks right at the inflamed dome. Why you might ask? Well, afterward, Petunia released a massive fart at the house, [[NiceJobBreakingItHero which only intensifies the fire.]]
* GirlyBruiser: Several episodes has Petunia intentionally mutilate another character, usually because of her OCD.
** In "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!", [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext she inexplicably consumes Brooklyn T. Guy while he was in a birthday cake.]]
** In "Giggles, Laughs, Rommance", she gets covered in glitter. SuperOCD mode is on. How does Petunia clean her glittery face? Well, she grabs Plankton and scrapes his jaw onto her face. Incongruously, this only creates another mess on her face, which is Plankton's smeared blood.
** In "Come clean, scumbag!", after becoming gradually fed up with everybody else's filthiness, she goes onto a murderous amok, killing several other characters in a rather extreme attempt to stay unblemished.
** In "Poor Pee Pee", she repeatedly pelts Chef Pee Pee with dogdeballs, likely just to show off to her friends. The first time she chucks one at him, he falls into several cooking untensils, which impales various areas of his body. After Chef Pee Pee had to painfully extract the appliances off his wounds, Petunia throws another ball at his face: This time, it obliterated his entire face.
* HeroesWantRedheads: Is a prominent OfficialCouple with Handy, who's an orange beaver.
* HollywoodHeartAttack: In "Are you feeling it now, Mr. Krabs", upon seeing a Krabby Patty on the floor, she hyperventilates and collapses from a heart attack. This also marks the only heart attack so far in the entire series.
* InterspeciesRomance: With Handy, who's a beaver.
* KillerRabbit: She's a skunk who can kill.
* LovableAlphaBitch: Maybe rude on occasion and has ''killed'' on occasion, but looking past those flaws, Petunia's a nice gal.
* NeatFreak: She panics at the mere sight of dirt and filth.
* NiceGirl: Usually very friendly towards the other characters. When she isn't being a complete germophobic scamp, that is.
* OfficialCouple: With Handy.
* SickeninglySweethearts: She and Handy have rather exaggerated interactions in ''Gory Toons''. Even [=SpongeBob=] and Cuddles were uncomfortable from this sight, that's saying something considering what [[CrazyJealousGuy types of boyfriends]] [[{{Yandere}} those characters are.]]
* SignatureHairDecs: She wears a pink [[MeaningfulName petunia]] on her head.
* SilentSnarker: Expresses disdain whenever Disco Bear attempts to hit on her as well at others' unhygienic habits.
* SmellySkunk: Uusually averted, but some episodes like "Splendid Have Mondon't" have Petunia use her natural spray. Of course, these instances usually lead to another character facing their inedible demise.
* SuperOCD: "Come Clean Scumbag" gratuitously showed us how bad it is. She will do anything to be clean, which means even ''killing other characters''.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: She has long eyelashes and a flower on her head.
* TrueBlueFemininity: Her fur is dark blue.
* TerrifiedOfGerms: She is constantly showering and freaks out whenever dirt gets on her.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The girly girl to Flaky's tomboy. Flaky doesn't look very feminine and once played soccer, while Petunia enjoys girly activities and loves to keep clean.
* TooDumbToLive: Being unintelligent and having OCD that has taken over her personality, she has been this a few times.
* VillainProtagonist: In "Come Clean, Scumbag", where she goes on a rampage and starts killing other characters to stray away from their unhygienic practices.

[[folder:Sniffles]]
[[hardline]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sniffles_blind_mistake.png]]
A brainy [[FunnyAnimal anteater]] in ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends''. Sniffles is a very dorky individual seen as the local nerd by most peers. He exhibits many geeky traits, like reading or solving mathematical equations. He has a knack for inventing machinery and constantly pursues a family of ants that'll always mutilate him in the end. Because of his plans’ tendency to backfire, Sniffles’ deaths are some of the most agonizing in the series.
-->Debut: Sonic's quest for the Chilly Dog shop
-->Franchise: WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends
----
* VillainProtagonist: In the episodes with the Ant family, he is shown as the villain.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nutty]]
[[hardline]]
[[quoteright:288:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nutty_hyponova_kirby.png]]
A hyperactive green [[FunnyAnimal squirrel]] from the show ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends''. Nutty, as he was in the original franchise he hailed from, is absolutely addicted to everything sweet and sugary. Said addiction for confectionery also makes him act callously at the expense of others, and sometimes himself. He is JTMONEYSMASHBROSBOB's favorite HTF character.
-->Debut: Sonic's quest for the Chilly Dog shop
-->Franchise: WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends
----
* AssholeVictim: Depending on the episode. He's not always a {{Jerkass}} to others, but when he is, expect him to die in the end.
* AxCrazy: Not to Flippy's level, but he still has his moments. He has killed people for candy.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Non-villainous example. Nutty is not always taken seriously by the other characters due to his sugar addiction. There are, however, multiple times where he has killed another character deliberately.
* BigEater: Has a huge appetite, mainly towards sugar.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "Nuttin Better Than Candy" and "Oh, Sugar!".
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: His colored eye matches his green fur.
* CuteAndPsycho: An adorable squirrel who has killed people.
* {{Determinator}}: Even when he's dying, he'll always try to get loads of candy.
* TheDitz: As a result of his candy addiction, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He often manages to come off as even dumber than Lumpy, who can at least generally tell what is and isn't food.
* DissonantLaughter: He sometimes laughs while he dies.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: Telling by his reaction to eating one in the aptly named "Nutty tries a lemon", [[{{Understatement}} he does not like lemons.]]
* ExtremeOmnivore: He'll eat anything that ''vaguely'' resembles candy, from small toys to even other characters just because they have something sweet in their pockets.
* EyeScream: In "Zombodie Told Me", both of his eyes are mutilated by a pair of glasses that is part of his Grucho Marx costume.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Several instances show that the characters view him as an annoyance or a bother of some sort, even by [=SpongeBob=].
* GreenAndMean: Nutty can be pretty selfish, and his fur is green.
* GRatedDrug: Consuming anything sugary, [[ICantBelieveItsNotHeroin sometimes in tiny amounts]], will send Nutty bouncing off the walls. Prolonged periods without sugar will send Nutty into withdrawal symptoms, becoming irritable and mentally imbalanced.
* TheHyena: He's always laughing, even when dying.
* {{Jerkass}}: He will prioritize his insatiable sugar addiction over the lives of others and even of himself.
* KarmaHoudini: Even though it is basically a rule for Nutty to die whenever he acts like a {{Jerkass}}, there are a few times where he has gotten off scot-free while killing another character due to his addiction. For example, he has eaten Stewie Griffin and Homer Simpson just because he noticed something (or at least what he perceives to be) sweet on their bodies.
* KarmicDeath: A huge portion of his deaths are well deserved. One good example is "Oh, Sugar!", where his torso is impaled after he spends the episode harassing and assaulting Toothy over his lollipop.
* {{Keet}}: Highly hyperactive; it must be because of his sugar intake.
* LaughingMad: Even when in pain, suffering, or ''dying'' he will intersperse giggling with groaning and screaming.
* MeaningfulName: His name says it all -- he's as nutty as a squirrel's breakfast.
* NiceGuy: As long as nobody gets in the way of his candy or video games, he's a friendly guy.
* OffWithHisHead: He has his head smacked off by an anvil in "The beginning of the start".
* ScrewballSquirrel: A squirrel who's - as the name suggests - about as nutty as a bag of peanuts.
* TheSociopath: There are times where Nutty will endanger the lives of, not only himself, but the people around him as well, and he doesn't seem to care when his actions get them killed.
* SkewedPriorities: Even in times of duress, he will go back to get candy. It often results in his deaths.
* SweetTooth: A whole mouthful of 36 and then some.
* TooDumbToLive: Many of his deaths could have been avoided if he would learn to prioritize his own well-being over a handful of candy.
** For some reason, he believed that the old saying “[[YouWouldntHitAGuyWithGlasses You wouldn’t hit a guy with glasses]]” would’ve made a bloodthirsty Cuddles spare him in “Zombodie Told Me. He definitely [[{{Pun}} saw that it wouldn’t.]]
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Anything sugary. Specifically, whenever he's at his most decadent, he's usually shown eating straight from a big bag of the stuff.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: A selfish squirrel who cares more about sweets than everyone else's well being.
* VillainProtagonist: In "Oh, Sugar!", where he assaults Toothy for a lollipop.
* VerbalTic: That lip-smacking sound he makes whenever he comes across candy.

-->'''Debut:''' It's An Alaskan Bull Worm!
-->'''Franchise:''' WebVideo/SuperMarioLogan
[[quoteright:271:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brooklyn_guy_popo.png]]
A sarcastic man from Brooklyn from the web-parody ''WebVideo/SuperMarioLogan''. Of course, Brooklyn Guy is known as the person with many jobs, though it is essentially commonplace for every character. However, his most frequent occupation is working as a part-time police officer. Brooklyn Guy has a somewhat inconsistent personality, but his usual depictions show him as not the brightest bulb. Otherwise, he is given a self-centered demeanor, acts a little snarky, and seems to be rather vulnerable, as many other Toons have overpowered him easily.
----
* AccidentalMurder: He is responsible for the deaths of Handy and Cuddles in "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!". Apparently {{Subverted}} with Handy, who looks to be somehow alive and well later on in the same episode.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!"
* DirtyCop: He doesn't follow his moral code properly and is prone to acting very antagonistic.
* IdiotBall: Even though he is supposedly rational compared to most, he acts very clueless and immature on many occasions.
* LaserGuidedKarma: In "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!". After spending the entire episode neglecting his job to reprehend Plankton and killing some innocent civilians, he finds himself eaten alive by Petunia... [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext somehow]].
* PoliceAreUseless: Oh, it really shows. Brooklyn Guy is utterly incompetent and fails miserably at his job. In "OH NO! IT'S THE POPO!" alone, he killed ''two'' people.

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/waddle_dee_3.png]]
Basic mooks found across the ''Franchise/{{Kirby}}'' series. These little guys are regular denizens who won't really oppose as much of a threat. Sadly, most of the fellow Toons always target these hapless Waddle Dees. Especially a pink blob. Typically, most of these Waddle Dees appear to represent the local townsfolk of ''Gory Toons'', right alongside Generic Tree Friends and the Bikini Bottomities.

On occasion, these guys are seen alongside their cyclopic cousin, Waddle Doo. The species have survived a fair share of episodes, mainly due to their presence as background characters normally. The Waddle Dees are considered antagonists against the main character, but on the other hand, they are treated as a main Kirby character alongside King Dedede and Kirby themselves. As a matter of fact, even though Waddle Dee is normally the underdog in ''Gory Toons'', he is an ally in some episodes.

----
* {{Jerkass}}: Certain appearances portray him as a jester who wants nothing more than to cause trouble.
* PerpetualSmiler: The only time it doesn't smile is when it's killed.
* PieEyed: Some appearances and designs portray him like this.
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: He attacks by throwing bombs.
* VillainousHarlequin: This persistent jester tends to antagonize the fellow heroes, mostly by catapulting bombs at them.

A [[MushroomMan mushroom retainer]] from the ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' line of video games. Though a fungal resident in the Mushroom Kingdom, Toad is a casual victim of frequent slaugther every Toon has to regularly face. This mushroomed humanoid is a singular character among an entire species of look-alikes, but this Toad has a red bulbous cranium and a blue vest to separate him from his identical-looking kind.
----
%%* ButtMonkey:
* ClothingAppendage: Several of Toad's deaths often reveal his "mushroom hat" to be apart of his head. Sometimes, said bulb contains an [[BodyHorror entire brain.]]
* ManOnFire: Gets caught on fire in "Splendid What Mondon't".
* MushroomMan: Toad is a little creature who has a mushroom on top of his head.
* NiceGuy: He's a polite steward who, unlike fellow characters, have genuine respect for his peers.
%%* OnlySaneMan:

[[hardline]]
-->'''Debut:''' Sonic got Hacked

-->'''Franchise:''' WesternAnimation/HappyTreeFriends
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mime_zombodie_told_me.png]]
A purple [[FunnyAnimal deer]] from ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends'' who is a mime. Mime is very talented at various circus and carnival acts. He loves peanuts and has an addiction to them. He never speaks. Of course, he's a mime, so this [[JustifiedTrope makes sense]]. Mime’s deaths are notable for mostly being instantaneous, with only a few of his demises actually being painful.
----
* AscendedExtra: He was mostly a background Tree Friend whose only role is to exhibit his NonIronicClown personality. Starting with Season 7 onwards, he plays more major roles in episodes and is in the gang of commonly used Tree Friends alongside Nutty and Handy.
* ButtMonkey: Has only ever survived in ''4'' episodes in general, has only survived ''one'' episode in 2021, and never survived a single ''Gory Toons'' reboot episode so far. His dedication to his mime persona, while endearing to some, is considered irksome by others and often leads to the deaths of one or several Toons due to the lack of mutual understanding.
* CuteMute: He never says anything.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "Those are mime peanuts" and "Mime Vs. The Mole".
* ElectiveMute: In several episodes, he makes brief vocal sounds, such as snoring, gagging, or gurgling. He most likely chooses not to speak or scream out of showmanship.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: Wears no pants.
* KarmaHoudini: All three of his most significant roles that he survives have him get away with causing almost every death in the episode:
** In “Sonic got hacked”, he is distracted from his task of holding up a cardboard cutout advertising the [[Film/SonicTheHedgehog2020 Sonic The Hedgehog Movie]] via a string by the cold winds, causing him to let go of the rope and for the cardboard cutout to land onto the audience, slicing and crushing all of them. After all of that, he is one of the few characters who survived during the episode.
** In “Cub the prodigy bear”, Mime pulls on an invisible rope that Gerald happens to walk into, causing the latter to have his legs severed by the rope and die of blood loss. Mime manages to escape the scene by grabbing an invisible lasso and flinging himself out of sight.
** In “Those are mime peanuts”, his key-personality trait of being obsessed with peanuts has led to disaster. First and foremost, he annoys Flippy by chewing very loudly, prompting him to flip out and kill the rest of the customers in his peanut shop. Later on, he ends up guzzling up Fliqpy whole over a peanut that was on his forehead. Pretty much, Mime came out completely unscathed.
* NiceGuy: A good-natured and friendly deer who often uses his talents to cheer others up.
* PoorCommunicationKills: Not suprisisngly coming from Mime, as he never speaks.
* ThrowTheDogABone: Similar to Homer Simpson, Mime has one of the lowest survival rates in the show, with only his debut episode being kind enough to not kill him off. However, the Reboot series cut Mime some slack. A few episodes had Mime survive his prominent appearances, including his [[ADayInTheLimeLight spotlight episode]]. He goes back to having an abysmal death-survival ratio in modern seasons, but his track record in those appearances still blesses him decently for ''Gory Toons'' standards. Only Giggles fares better among the characters that die more often than not.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Peanuts, for some reason. Of course, this has been {{flanderized}} into an obsession.
* TheVoiceless: In several episodes he makes brief vocal sounds, such as snoring, gagging, or gurgling. He most likely chooses not to speak or scream out of showmanship.
* YourMimeMakesItReal: It is sometimes shown that he can turn seemingly imaginary objects into actual reality, such as "Cub the prodigy bear" and "Mime vs. The Mole". When Mime was pulling on "imaginary" rope, Gerald walked in front of Mime — however, both his legs are ''instantly'' sliced afterward.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_mole_mole_vs_mime.png]]
A blind lavender [[FunnyAnimal mole]] from ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends''. The rule that The Mole and Lumpy are the most inept Toons for any given job still applies. Moreover, he remains a mute individual with impaired hearing, rendering him incapable of properly communicating and making him destructively oblivious. He keeps his signature ability to instigate calamities wherever he goes and persists in doing activities that require vision, especially driving.

Although his demeanor and blindness are recipes for disaster, The Mole actually has one of the highest survival rates in the series, mostly due to dumb luck. ''Gory Toons'' decides to portray him as a hobo who would occasionally wander the streets and made him proficient in combat, which is most exemplified when he was the archenemy of Mime.
----
* ADogNamedDog: A mole named "Mole".
* BlindDriving: Often seen driving, despite being blind. Naturally, this leads to several mishaps.
* BlindMistake: His biggest form of comedy.
* BlindPeopleWearSunglasses: Mole is blind, and ambles about with a red-ended walking staff, turtleneck sweater, and rounded sunglasses similar to those of John Lennon. Being sightless, Mole rarely survives any of his appearances; of course, his fellow characters fare no better.
* ButtMonkey: Despite his high survival rate and surviving in most of his appearances, he has gone through some of the most agonizing deaths the show has to offer such as getting his head repeatably slammed with a hammer, exploding from touching a lamp, had his head impaled by a sword, etc.
* CaptainOblivious: Even taking his blindness into account, there are many instances where he should be able to hear or feel that something is wrong but doesn't.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "Mime Vs The Mole"
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Whenever he's seen in a car, he will either crash it or drive clumsily. {{Justified}}, as he's blind.
* {{Hobo}}: Is often portrayed as a homeless man.
* InformedSpecies: He doesn't really look like a mole, more like a bear instead.
* TheFaceless: He always wears sunglasses and his turtleneck sweater [[NoMouth covers his mouth all the time]], making him appear expressionless at all times.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: No pants.
* HandicappedBadass: As seen in “Mime vs. The Mole”, where he fights on par with Mime.
* NoMouth: His mouth is covered by his sweater.
* NiceGuy: He's just a friendly character with no grudge.
* TheStoic: Because his face is covered all the time and he's completely voiceless, he shows no emotion whatsoever, no matter what the situation. Justified, as he is blind, so he can't see what's exciting, depressing, or scary.
* TheSpeechless: He's never said a single word in any of his appearances. He never even makes any vocal noises of any kind.
* SpellMyNameWithAThe: The only character to have the word "the" as part of his name.
* SunglassesAtNight: Possibly justified by the fact that he's ''blind.''
* TooDumbToLive: While most of his mistakes can be explained by his blindness, the fact that a blind person is doing all these things that require sight in the first place indicates that he's not the brightest bulb. Like Lumpy, a more common occurrence being [[InvertedTrope "Too Dumb For Those Around Him To Live"]](with a few exceptions).

[[quoteright:342:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wario_road_rage.png]]
An [[FatBastard obese treasure hunter]] from the ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' franchise who later starred in his own series. Wario is mostly crude, as he enjoys farting, taunting his rivals, and scratching his rear. He doesn't appear to have a very good diet, as he is seen drinking alcoholic beverages and stuffing raw-garlic into his mouth. Wario has some of the slowest and most painful deaths in the series.
-----
* {{Acrofatic}}: Despite his girth, Wario is usually presented as one of the more agile Toons in the bunch.
* AdaptationDyeJob: Wario's emblem on his hat is yellow instead of purple.
* AdaptationalModesty: {{Downplayed}} and Played With, but ''Gory Toons''' design features the classic sleeved outfit Wario had in the TheNineties instead.
* AntiHero: He isn't villainous or considers himself affiliated with Plankton, but that doesn't mean he isn't insufferable.
* AssholeVictim: His {{Jerkass}} behavior has made his injury somewhat laughable. Case in point, in "Road Rage", he sticks his tongue out at Linda Stotch while ahead of her in a traffic jam. A few seconds later, an already stressed out Linda snaps and runs up to Wario's vehicle, strangling him on the spot.
* BigEater: He loves eating nearly anything, from [[SweetTooth sweets]], to [[TheAlcoholic alcoholic beverages]] to [[TrademarkFavoriteFood garlic]], you name it.
* BullyingADragon: Wario messed with [[BearsAreBadNews Pop]] and [[HairTriggerTemper Linda Stotch]] respectively in "Opsy Tpsy" and "Road Rage". Needless to say, it didn't go so well for him.
* ButtMonkey: He suffers a lot of excruciating deaths and has a very low survival rate, as he survived only ''once''.
* TheBigGuy: Wario is among the fattest characters that ''Gory Toons'' has to offer.
* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: The W on his cap and gloves.
* CantGetAwayWithNuthin: Wario has died in nearly all of his appearances, except one. ONE.
* CardCarryingJerkass: Combined that with LargeHam and ComedicSociopathy, Wario is very much a {{Jerkass}} and will proudly gloat about his obnoxious ways.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "Wario dies but it's more brutal" and "The Kid Who Liked Wario A Little TOO MUCH"
* EvilCounterpart: While he's a clear invoked {{Expy}} of Mario, he gives off the impression of one for Kirby as well. Both characters' gruesome misfortune are their iconic shtick, are fairly gluttonous, and have been [[AllTheOtherReindeer subjected to abuse by everybody else]].
* EvilLaugh: Wario has a signature cackle when he's doing bad.
* {{Fartillery}}: [[ItMakesSenseInContext He farts on Wendy Testaburger]] in "The Kid Who Liked Wario A Little TOO MUCH". As the textbook story goes, the whole class started to smell like the foulest thing ever to be smelted.
* FatBastard: He's overweight and likes to antagonize others.
* FatSlob: He is an obese man who farts a lot, scratches his butt, and eats unsavory food.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Given his rude demeanor, Wario is often portrayed as the annoying bastard who just gets on everybody's nerves.
* GagNose: Has one that is shaped like garlic.
* GroundPound:
** He does one to Kenny [=McCormick=] in "The Kid Who Liked Wario A Little TOO MUCH". As ThirdPersonPerson narrator Wario describes his Stephen-named depiction, Wario names it "Wario Stomp" in this instance.
** This was used onto the floor presumably on accident in "Wario dies but it's more brutal", which also led to his very death.
* {{Gonk}}: Wario isn't very attractive, to be ''very'' generous. Though, the art style of ''Gory Toons'' makes his design lean towards UglyCute.
* HairTriggerTemper: Wario can become furious rather easily.
* HarmlessVillain: He's definitely an annoying EvilCounterpart who gets on the others' nerves, but his antics mainly linger towards being childish at worst.
* HotBlooded: Very adventurous and excitable.
* LargeHam: Complete with exaggerated actions, loud screams, and expressive moment.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Anytime Wario does something troublesome to another character, it'll bite him back later on down the line... greatly.
* LaughablyEvil: He's very antagonistic but also hilariously goofy.
* MrViceGuy: Wario is most certainly a jerk that everybody cannot stand and has several moments of revolting manners, but he's sometimes laid-back and a bit social.
* OddFriendship: If "Blind Mistake" is anything to go by, Wario is friends with Lumpy.
* OffModel: Wario faced several inexplicable changes to his design. Perhaps the most glaring is his unexplained lack of ears, but also minor discrepancies too, like the W on his hat being colored yellow instead of purple, a sudden change back to his previous long-sleeved outfit, and the ToothStrip as clarified below.
* PurpleIsPowerful: He wears purple overalls and if "The Kid Who Liked Wario A Little TOO MUCH" is something go by, can shatter an obese person with a single punch.
* TheScrooge: This fat plumber is nothing more than a greedy FatBastard who wouldn't share his luxury in a million years.
* SecondaryColorNemesis: Wario may wear yellow, but he also wears purple overalls and green shoes.
* SlasherSmile: A perpetual grin that can easily scare a grown man. Though, killing Wario will guarantee to remove that toothy gremise.
* SuperStrength: Wario can break through floors with just a single jump and destroy an entire person by punching them once.
* ThrowTheDogABone: He is sadistically killed in most of his appearances, barring a small cameo in "Blind Mistake", where he suffers no injures at all.
* TombstoneTeeth: Oddly {{Downplayed}} in ''Gory Toons''. While he still displays these every once in a while, his teeth are usually drawn as a ToothStrip.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Wario loves garlic.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: A gross man who loves taunting people and is somebody everybody finds annoying. He's a proud {{Jerkass}} with a passion for being a nuisance.
* VillainousGlutton: He loves eating stuff, thus signifying his FatBastard status.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Cuphead]]
* BadassAdorable: One of the few characters whose depiction isn't too far off from the actual source material.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "An Old Fellow Returned".

* NonHumanHead: He has a cup for a head.

A blue flying squirrel from ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends''. Splendid is, of course, a superhero who has a variety of superpowers beyond flight, just as heat vision, frost breath, supersonic hearing, high durability, and super speed. While admired by his peers, particularly Sniffles and Toothy for his comic book appearances, Splendid is an awful superhero and his negligence often costs the Toons their lives. He would usually prefer to do his own thing, like knitting and reading.

Like Flippy, Splendid’s habit of accidentally killing other characters through failed heroic deeds makes his schtick repetitive. As a result, he has the lowest number of appearances out of the characters introduced in the prototype era. He also has the lowest number of deaths, having only died once.
----
* AntiHero: A NominalHero.
* BlueIsHeroic: He's a blue squirrel who is a superhero. Not a ''good'' one though.
* CoolMask: A red one. He is never seen without the mask, even while ClarkKenting.
* ADayInTheLimeLight: "Super Pooper" and "Splendid What Mondon't"
* DesignatedHero: {{Invoked}}. He's a super''hero'' in title only. He only helps others to get attention, and all his attempts to "save" people will result in them dying.
* DestructiveSaviour: Often causes more problems than he solves.
* FailureHero: His efforts to do good often lead to mass destruction and deaths of others.
* FlyingBrick: Has the standard set of superhero powers: {{Flight}}, SuperStrength, SuperSpeed, EyeBeams, SuperBreath, and SuperSenses.
* {{Jerkass}}: He causes more problems than he does solve them and is only a hero just to get credit.
* KarmaHoudini: Thanks to his NighInvulnerability, he's one of the few characters that rarely die, and usually escapes unscathed from the chaos and destruction he causes.
* LackOfEmpathy: He doesn't care when someone he is trying to protect dies.
* MikeNelsonDestroyerOfWorlds: In "Splendid What Mondon't", he inadvertently causes the apocalypse... in the attempt to put out fire.
* PowerfulButIncompetent: He's a SupermanSubstitute who never manages to save someone (and if he does, they usually don't stay alive for long afterward) due to a combination of stupidity, carelessness, and a lack of interest in his "job".
* SupermanSubstitute: His FlyingBrick powers, ClarkKenting, and KryptoniteFactor are retained.
* SuperStrength: Due to being a superhero, he can lift things much bigger than himself.

-->'''Franchise:''' Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog
* TemporarilyAVillain:
* TooDumbToLive:

-->'''Debut:''' Popcorn
-->'''Gory Toons Debut:''' Zombodie Told Me
-->'''Franchise:''' WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends

* CatchPhrase: "Mm-hmm."
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass:
* RunningGag:
* SmartBall:
* TemporarilyAVillain:

-->'''Debut:''' Eggman's New Scheme
-->'''Gory Toons Debut:''' Splendid What Mondon't
-->'''Franchise:''' WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends

* ADayInTheLimeLight: "Come Clean, Scumbag"
* InterspeciesRomance: With Handy, who's a beaver.
* OfficialCouple: With Handy.

-->Franchise: WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends
----
* AssholeVictim: Depending on the episode.

-->'''Franchise:''' WesternAnimation/HappyTreeFriends
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: Wears no pants.

[[folder:The Mole]]
-->'''Debut:''' Sonic got Hacked

-->'''Franchise:''' WesternAnimation/HappyTreeFriends

* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: No pants.

* GroundPound:
** He does one to Kenny [=McCormick=] in "The Kid Who Liked Wario A Little TOO MUCH". As ThirdPersonPerson narrator Wario describes his Stephen-named depiction, Wario names it "Wario Stomp" in this instance.

* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Wario loves garlic.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/splendid_what_mondont_splendid.png]]

----
* AntiHero: A NominalHero.

This tropes fits much better, since Wario's design, while there's a variety of changes, doesn't lean into outright unrecognizability.

An [[FatBastard obese treasure hunter]] from the Franchise/SuperMarioBros franchise who later starred in his own series.
