* BeneathTheMask: Behind all his assholish glory he can be a pretty considerate--even caring--guy. To the right people of course. . . Those who have seen this is his little sister, Eris, and his wife by arrangement, Ceyra.

* {{Control Freak}}: One of his weaknesses is that he needs to be, and feel, in control at all times. If he isn't he has shown to become overly stressed and makes brash decisions.

* {{Ironic Name}}: Avon, in Hebrew, is a sin of lust or uncontrollable emotion.
* {{Jerkass}}: Seriously.
* {{Lack of Empathy}}: Has trouble with understanding other’s emotions or even showing his own.
* {{Manipulative Bastard}}: An expert strategist and manipulator, although it is questionable as to whether he is actually good at it, or merely imposes his will on others.
* {{Mood Swinger}}: . . .As the trope says. . .
* {{Must have Nicotine}}: Usually seen with a cigarette. It’s gotten pretty bad and he’s even been caught waking up with a cigarette in his mouth.
* {{Parental Favoritism}}: He was the next rightful ruler of Avaditas, and because of that his parents favorited him very much so.
* {{Patricide}}: Killed his father--well, he ordered someone to murder his father.
* {{President Evil}}: He’s a corrupt leader (but nothing close to a president), let’s leave it at that.
* {{Royal Brat}}
* {{Sadist}}: Fine watching the suffering of others, has even shown to enjoy it even.
* {{Sore Loser}}
* {{Super OCD}}: To a point, he loves and craves order and non-changing patterns.
* {{Tall Dark and Handsome}}
* {{The Cynic}}: Very negative.
* {{The Emperor}}: Is the Emperor of Avaditas.
* {{The Liar}}: And a very good one.
* {{The Medic}}: Shown to have medical knowledge after patching up Ceyra’s wound and even Eris's when they were both younger.
* {{The Paranoiac}}: Doesn’t really show it but has trouble trusting people, when things get tough or seem in bad shape he also becomes very hasty and paranoid internally. He mostly fears people wanting to overthrow him--which is why he must feel in control.

* {{Aloof Dark Haired Girl}}: She can be this sometimes.
* {{Ax Crazy}}: SERIOUSLY. Therese takes complete pleasure in screwing up others' lives in one way or another, and really doesn't bother hiding the joy she gains at this.
* {{Badass Princess}}: While not technically a Princess, she's the equivalent of one.
* {{Became Their Own Antithesis}}: A negative example. She was kind for the daughter of the Dictator of Acritudo, and was really rather timid. Fortunately, she managed to develop a backbone. Not-so-fortunately, she also developed complete and utter cruelty and flourished in the pain of others.
* {{Beneath the Mask}}: She won't admit it to anyone -- not even to herself -- but as twisted and violent and seemingly irredeemable as she's become, Therese has still not lost the capacity for good. She's far more fragile and scared than she lets even herself know -- primarily, scared of being a failure, scared of being hurt, and scared of letting herself freely love another person. It's a side of her that she's buried incredibly deep within her, though, and she'd rather Acritudo fall than expose it to another person.
* {{Berserk Button}}: Just the mere SIGHT of Luke was enough to send her into a complete blinding rage.
* {{Big Bad Duumvirate}}: Becomes one with Leyland following Vandor's death, though her growing presence in the story could be slowly making her a new, singular Big Bad.
* {{Big Screwed Up Family}}: She's part of the Zeidans, who are basically the poster example of this trope considering over half of the family are sadists and those who aren't eventually go on the run.
* {{Cain and Abel}}: Leyland and Therese are the Cain to Luke and eventually Jezebel’s Abel. Leyland and Therese are cruel and kill others without a second thought while Luke and Jezebel are far more altruistic and show remorse for harm they have caused.
* {{The Chessmaster}}: Therese certainly has her moments of this. Instead of ever attempting to escape the Redemption, she let herself remain with them because she knew that was one of the only ways she could glean honest information about them, and her stabbing Luke was not a blind act of revenge -- she purposefully did it in an attempt to make it so Luke would consider her as a horrible person and therefore lose all love he had for her. Aside from that, one does not simply be the daughter of a ruler without learning ways of politics and diplomacy. For as chaotic as her nature is, Therese is still smarter than she lets on.
* {{Co Dragons}}: She and Leyland helped carry out Vandor's work.
** {{Dragon Ascendant}}: But that's before they both become a Big Bad Duumvirate.
* {{Control Freak}}: Therese feels a desperate need to be in control of everything, at every time, in the name of preventing herself from getting hurt anymore.
* {{The Corruptible}}: You'd think it would be the other way around, but this is the actual truth. Many of Therese's actions have been a result of the role others have played in her life -- being kind because of her mother, crossing into darkness because of Luke, becoming a full-on sadist because that is what her dad taught her, and hating Trait Bearers because of a Trait Bearer she confronted in the past.
* {{Daddys Girl}}/{{Daddys Little Villain}}: Vandor taught her a lot of the things she knows now and played a major part of molding her into the person she is today. She gladly let him.
* {{Dark Action Girl}}: As both a powerful Cruelty Bearer and someone that's talented with a dagger, Therese is capable of going toe-to-toe with several members of Anaphora's Redemption at once, as evidenced both in the battle in the fort and in the one in Poena.
* {{Deadpan Snarker}}: Therese attacks her opponents with challenges and snark almost as much as she attacks them with weapons.

* {{Even Evil Has Loved Ones}}: Subverted. While she doesn't show it, Therese deep down truly does care for the members of her family. This does not mean, however, that she won't hurt them for her own benefit.
** If anything, being someone willing to show kindness and affection for Therese will actually put you in considerably MORE danger than her simple enemies. Therese generally responds well to any sort of kindness given to her (seeing as she didn't exactly have much of it growing up), so she could grow attached to that person in turn. But given that she's paranoid and scared of how love might control her, she'll act against this by usually doing something horrible to that person in turn. This is in an attempt to negate that person's affection for her and hopefully, in turn, negate her love for them.
* {{Extra Ore Dinary}}: Like most Cruelty Bearers, bullets, guns, and most swords are a joke to Therese.
* {{For the Evulz}}: One of the reasons why she does so many horrible things to people is simply because she LIKES doing horrible things to people.
* {{Freudian Excuse}}: Therese was practically abused by Lucian in her childhood. The older he became, the more frustrated Lucian would be when his attempts to unlock the Cruelty Trait failed, and he vented his frustrations the only way he'd been taught -- by repeatedly hurting Therese with words and sometimes even physically hitting her. Facing this on a daily basis has left her with scars that she still hasn't been able to properly confront.
** There's also the matter of why she hates Trait Bearers so much. It hasn't been delved into the RPG yet, but she doesn't have it out for Trait Bearers just because Daddy Vandor told her to.
* {{Heel Face Turn}}: Explored. Despite all she's done, Luke correctly assumes that there's still some good in her, and really makes an effort to extend trust to her. This kindness did not go unnoticed by Therese, making her feelings toward Luke completely conflicted and actually wondering if Trait Bearers weren't corrupted. But then she realized just what sort of thoughts she was having and corrected herself by stabbing Luke in the chest, ultimately averting this trope and descending even further into villainy.
** However, it should be noted that Word of God says that it's still unclear where she'll be at the very end of things, so this trope is actually still possible.
* {{I Did What I Had To Do}}: Her belief toward hurting both Jezebel and Luke at different points.
* {{Loves the Sound of Screaming}}: Yup. That she does.
* {{The Perfectionist}}: Therese cuts zero slack for herself. I repeat. ZERO slack.
* {{Redemption Rejection}}: Luke continually extends trust in the hopes of redeeming her. But alas, she makes it clear she doesn't WANT to be redeemed when she stabs him in the chest.
* {{Reliable Traitor}}: Therese doesn't make it a secret that she can't be trusted as she temporarily joins forces with them to retrieve Jezebel from Poena, which was interestingly enough one of the things that solidified a very brief partnership.

* {{Start of Darkness}}: Her very first confrontation with Luke, when she caught him and Quintus escaping the Zeidan Stronghold, served as this for her.
* {{Young and In Charge}}: Leyland and Therese are seventeen and sixteen, respectively, and yet they're in charge of running an entire nation. True, Therese is not the official Dictator, but she still has a lot on her shoulders for a sixteen year old.
