!!!'''Origin:''' ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs''
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/abby_shoulder_infobox.png]]
----
* AdaptationSpeciesChange: Abby was a human from ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs'', but ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'' changes her biology into a demi-human to better fit in as the leader of a group of former demi-human slaves.
* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: Getting hanged to death in front of the public has caused them to celebrate her death, as after everything she did had come to an end. While the public celebrates, a person even shouts that they can have free drinks from the death of the Bitch Lord.
%%* AristocratsAreEvil:
* BoundAndGagged: After getting knocked out unconscious by Naofumi in their battle, Abby is tied up with ropes to restrain her from escaping. More restraints are put in her mouth when she starts speaking ill of the Shield Hero's heroism.
* DefiantCaptive: She is defeated by Naofumi in chapter 61 and is hogtied into a rope afterwards. Once Abby wakes up from her unconsciousness in chapter 63, she spurs out a HannibalLecture on how the members of the Shield Hero's party are just as bad as the nobles she had met.
* EvilLaugh: After delivering her HannibalLecture at Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Eclair that they are not as good as the heroes they are, Abby laughs evilly in victory from believing that she had broken their hearts.
* EvilPowerVacuum: Since her defeat in the hands of Naofumi, the authority she once held on bandits disappears and it resulted in them going rampant through many villages that threaten the lives of innocent people.
* HangingAround: Abby meets her end by having ropes be placed on her neck and then getting hanged afterwards in the display towards the public.
* HatedByAll: No one in the world likes the Bitch Lord very much, not even her own demi-human followers. Building her authority towards her demi-human followers through fear and violence has caused them to easily abandon her the moment she is defeated. Even as she's held a captive by the Shield Hero's party, none of them can tolerate her self-serving and hypocritical speeches that they have Abby's mouth be gagged.
* HateSink: Abby the Bitch Lord is a self-centered demi-human bandit that has led her group of former demi-human slaves into pillaging and ravaging multiple villages for their loot. Despite having freed demi-humans from slavery, she proves to be just as bad as the nobles in acts of slavery by failing to properly nurture to the needs of her own followers. Even after getting defeated by Naofumi, Abby lives in a self-deluded fantasy that she gave the slaves freedom, and the heroic efforts of Naofumi and his group is nothing but an act that reinforces slavery for their own gain.
%%* HannibalLecture:
%%* HolierThanThou:
* HourGlassPlot: After escaping slavery, she went on to become a bandit known as the Bitch lord that ravages villages for their loot and saves demi-humans from slavery to join her bandit group. As a bandit leader, she became a vicious boss that captures innocent human beings and beats them so badly that they comparable to the position of slaves.
* MoralMyopia: The Bitch Lord believes herself to be better than the nobles who engage in acts of slavery by being the one that saves the demi-human slaves from their captors. While true, Abby is also a BadBoss who views her followers as gullible pawns, mistreats them, and exploits their efforts to lust for power.
* PublicExecution: The Bitch Lord is killed via HangingAround on ropes, and as for the public that ordered and watched her demise, [[AndThereWasMuchRejoicing they rejoiced from her death.]]
* RememberTheDead: Inverted. She is told by the townspeople of Samphor that despite believing herself to be a dreaded bandit, she is only one of many and she will eventually be forgotten in the times of history.

* BigBadWannabe: Mouse believes herself to be worthy and powerful enough to become the new leader of Bitch Lord's bandits, but falls short because of her lack of strength. In a rematch against the Shield Hero and his party, Mouse is defeated by Raphtalia, who is the weakest member in close combat.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: When asked by Raphtalia to recount the event where the latter saw her fed a dead boy to the Bitch Lord's dog, Mouse answers not knowing which boy Raphtalia is talking about, since Mouse had done it to so many others.
* DragonAscendant: After the Bitch Lord is BoundAndGagged, she assumes the role as the new leader of her bandits and plans to be a more competent leader to not make the same mistakes

----
* GoodIsNotNice: Learning that Mein has heart problems and that the latter took two pain reliefs to "control" it, Tanya rages out at Naofumi for allowing his companion to use the pain reliefs. When Naofumi attempts to justify the pain reliefs as something he made, Tanya explains the problems of using pain reliefs against heart problems in a harsh way. Although crude at how Tanya explained the problems, it at least alerted Mein to be more careful of her heart.
* WithDueRespect: In response to Naofumi's justification that the pain reliefs are safer because he enhanced them, Tanya slightly respects Naofumi for his caring behavior but berates him for enhancing it, thereby making the pain reliefs take a stronger toll on Mein's heart condition.

!!!'''Origin:''' ''Franchise/DragonBall''
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/son_goku_dragon_ball_z.png]]
----
* AdaptationalWimp: In the ''Franchise/DragonBall'' series, Goku dying and getting revived multiple times meant that he always got stronger in fighting opponents that were stronger than him, which meant he could eventually face off even [[DestroyerDeity Gods of Destruction]] like Beerus. Here in ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'', Goku's first death had him be transported in the world of Medea as its Spear Hero, resulting in Goku never learning the same techniques and growing the same strength as his original counterpart once did.
* AllLovingHero: To Melromarc, he was known as one of the greatest legendary heroes to be ever summoned and is near universally loved by everyone. Just as he was merciful in giving people chances, Goku was exceptionally powerful in defeating his enemies. To further cement himself in history as one of the greatest, he preferred taking on a single wife than a harem.
* DeathByAdaptation: Zig Zagged. From the ''Franchise/DragonBall'' series, Goku is killed in various different ways, but DeathIsCheap in the series, since he is usually revived back to life. In this story, the first death Goku experiences actually sticks and it results in him being reincarnated into Medea as its Spear Hero.
* KamehameHadoken: His Kamehameha attack was the strongest attack he could unleash upon his enemies. To the Claes family, it became a signature attack where members dedicate themselves into learning how it works.
* MythologyGag: Besides his Kamehameha being his signature attack from ''Franchise/DragonBall'', his "rock, paper, and scissors" technique is a reference to an attack combo he used against Yamcha before learning the Kamehameha Wave.
* TheRedeemer: Due to his mercy, Goku had redeemed many of his enemies and they went on to become his greatest allies, all from wanting to give everyone a chance.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Goku was one of the most faithful summoned heroes in Melromarc for his preference to have one person as his wife, instead of having a harem of nobles following him around. His matrimonial fidelity eventually led to him being immortalized as a popular romantic character in various InUniverse fictional novels.
* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: Defied. Not wanting to always rely on his Kamehameha to perform long ranged attacks, Goku improved his "rock, paper, and scissors" technique for more styles to combat his enemies.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lautrec.jpg]]

Lautrec is one of the slaves Naofumi buys from Beloukas. Though at first, Lautrec is a supporting party member for Naofumi, the former immediately ditches him once his slave crest is removed in the aftermath of Naofumi and Motoyasu's sacred duel. Afterwards, Lautrec becomes largely absent from the story in preparation to return for the third wave to summon his goddess, Web!Raphtalia.
----
* AdaptationalSpeciesChange: Lautrec was a human wearing a brightly colored golden armor in his original series, ''VideoGame/DarkSouls''. ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'' brings Lautrec in the form of a lizardman slave to act as the latter's OCStandIn to temporarily be in Naofumi's party and to ally himself with Web!Raphtalia.
* AscendedExtra: As the lizardman slave from ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'''s web novel, he is only mentioned as a few lines to describe his appearance. The fanfic turns the lizardman slave into an OCStandIn by giving him the [[CompositeCharacter personality of Lautrec's love for a goddess]].
* TheBusCameBack: Since chapter 26 where he fled away from Naofumi's group and everyone in Melromarc, Lautrec has barely been mentioned in many points of the story, until chapter 93 where he summons the Lady of the Sword at the third wave.
* CompositeCharacter: He is the lizardman slave briefly seen in the web novel of ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'', and he receives his characterization along with the personality coming from [[VideoGame/DarkSouls Lautrec]].
* TheFundamentalist: Lots of Lautrec's dialog and beliefs have him talk madly about a type of goddess he will always shower praise and worship to cleanse the dirt in Medea. Though there are religions in relation to the Four Legendary Heroes, Lautrec's beliefs are aligned only to his goddess he frequently rambles about.
* GainingTheWillToKill: Invoked. His training for Raphtalia in chapter 14 is dedicated to having her kill a Rabbit Pill to give her the killing intent and preparation for the monsters that will arrive in the second wave.
* GoldColoredSuperiority: His return in chapter 93 has Lautrec be wearing an armor so brightly covered in gold that it shine's Mein's eyes from seeing all of his equipment. As a result of the gold, Lautrec stands out from the rest of the soldiers fighting waves for its incredibly bright appearance in his charge to reach the frontlines.
* HarmfulToMinors: In chapter 14, Lautrec has Raphtalia be put into a situation to kill a rabbit pill to prepare her for the bloodshed of the second wave. While the training in GainingTheWillToKill will be useful for Raphtalia's fighting, it will damage her innocence and mentality.
* KarmaHoudini:
** He is never punished for the harsh training he put Raphtalia through in the initial chapters where Lautrec stayed as Naofumi's slave. Once Lautrec is freed of his slave seal, he makes his opportunity to run away and is never seen [[TheBusCameBack again until chapter 93.]]
** Lautrec's return in chapter 93 has him succeed in summoning his goddess, Web!Raphtalia, into the world of Medea to have his goddess punish the people she presumes to be evil. When the goddess is defeated in chapter 95, Lautrec flees the battlefield of the third wave and snuck away the knights that tried to capture him.
* LargeHam: Whenever he is going to ramble on his praises for his goddess, Lautrec is likely to go over-the-top and be dramatic at the goddess' glory.
* MoreDespicableMinion:
** Inverted. To Naofumi Iwatani, the latter is a hero chosen by the Shield to save Medea from the Waves of Catastrophy, In his goal to save Medea, he is highly reluctant to try out morally grey solutions and is a SmallStepsHero to have everyone be saved. Lautrec on the other hand is one of his slave party members who bears no loyalty towards him and is the TokenEvilTeammate among the rest of the party. Lautrec is prepared to have Raphtalia be exposed to blood without Naofumi's consent and is seen as an insane lizardman that constantly boasts of his goddess.
** Downplayed. At Web!Raphtalia, Lautrec is slightly more despicable than her because of his behavior as TheFundamentalist. While Web!Raphtalia can be seen as evil for going a rampage to people she assumes are villains like the ones originating from her world, she at least had good intentions from the back of her mind. Lautrec meanwhile only cares about serving her and doesn't mind on murdering anyone in Medea.
* MythologyGag: His return back in chapter 94 reintroduces him inside of a golden armor, alluding to his original appearance from ''VideoGame/DarkSouls''.
* NamedInTheAdaptation: He was only referred to as the lizardman slave in ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'', as he lacked any characterization. In the fanfic, the lizardman slave is named as Lautrec, as so he could gain a characterization similar that of the Lautrec from ''VideoGame/DarkSouls''.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Lautrec appears to be nothing more than a mad lizard that loves to spout words of worship of his goddess. Even after he escapes Naofumi's party, Mein has the reassurance to Naofumi that if Lautrec were a problem, then the villages would have already exposed his existence. When he finally makes a return in chapter 93, Lautrec begins to truly be a major problem by summoning the goddess her worships and gains her support in taking down masses of soldiers that have prepared themselves in fighting the third wave.
* OCStandIn: Lautrec lacked any characterization in ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'', as his role was to play as a background slave character for Naofumi to make a small remark on. ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'' has Naofumi buy Lautrec to expand his characterization, and the latter is given the personality of his ''VideoGame/DarkSouls'' counterpart.
* OverzealousUnderling:
** He is a slave member of Naofumi's party to assist him in fighting off the waves, but Lautrec's interactions to guide Raphtalia prove him to be a highly unstable supporter. To help Raphtalia grow stronger and ready for the waves, Lautrec forces her to kill a rabbit pill, without consenting Naofumi, believing that harsh actions are necessary to train a child for battle.
** In being an underling worshipper of Web!Raphtalia, Lautrec is eager to follow the orders of his goddess and has gone off to endanger the lives of his former party members to fulfill his goddess' wish to have Ambition!Malty be killed.
* PsychoSupporter: In both his role for Naofumi and Web!Raphtalia, Lautrec's beliefs make him a highly deranged lizard that frequently loves to spout out how great his goddess is.
* {{Sadist}}: He expresses his pleasure to assist his goddess, Web!Raphtalia, in killing Ambition!Malty.
* TeamMemberInTheAdaptation: Subverted. The original lizardman slave remained under the control of Beloukas in the slave trade in the web novel of ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''. Here, Lautrec is bought and becomes a team member of Naofumi's party, but then bolted out of the party as soon as he was free.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Being one of Naofumi's original slaves and party members, Lautrec is seen by many others as the worst member for his strong obsession to worshipping his goddess. While Naofumi's party are loyal to him in a sort of way like Mein being a member out of [[CantKillYouStillNeedYou self]]-[[PragmaticVillainy interest]], [[BecomingTheMask until growing]] [[TookALevelInKindness to love]] Naofumi, Firo, who despite being a brat is loyal to Naofumi, Lautrec was the only one to immediately ditch the party in his moment of opportunity.
* VillainExitStageLeft: As soon as the goddess he summoned is defeated by Cardin Winchester, Lautrec escapes all the knights that are present in chapter 95 and is never held accountable for the damage caused.

!!Raphtalia (Web Novel)
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 63/Chapter 54: Bitch Lord, I am (Mentioned)
!!!'''Origin:''' ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''
A version of Raphtalia originating from the web novel version of ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''. In the aftermath of the web novel's events, Raphtalia alongside with Naofumi have attained godlike abilities from the death of Medea Pideth Machina. This Raphtalia is brought into the world of Medea via Lautrec summoning her. Once arriving into Medea, Raphtalia begins a rampage to kill those she assumes to be the same evil people that originally came from her world.
----
* ApologeticAttacker: Whenever she is about to deliver fatal attacks onto Mein, Web!Raphtalia's tone of voice is that of remorse, yet despite what sadness of what Raphtalia might feel, she believes in the end that Mein is BeyondRedemption and deserves death.
* AnArmAndALeg: The goddess has one of her arm be broken by Pope Balmus using the last of his strength to weaken her before his death.
* BlamingTheVictim: Despite having slaughtered and injured several soldiers in chapter 94, Raphtalia is quick to lay the blame on Ambition!Malty for everything that had happened, out of the belief that the latter is equally selfish as her web novel counterpart and deserves to die.
* TheBlank: Web!Raphtalia's godly powers give her a MysteriousVeil that covers her face and beneath the veil, no one is able to clearly see any facial features on Web!Raphtalia's face.
* CallAHumanAMeatbag: If she is referring to Ambition!Malty, Raphtalia is sure to always call her "Witch", since Web!Malty's name was changed to "Witch", and Raphtalia is under the assumption that Ambition!Malty is equally evil as her web novel counterpart.
* FearlessFool: Discussed. Outnumbered by an entire army of soldiers, Mein wishes to believe that the goddess is actually just being foolish in taking on a large number of people and not a OneWomanArmy capable of handling everyone on her own.
* MadGod: She has powers that outclass everyone fighting the third wave in everyway, and Raphtalia's instability comes from being unable to differentiate that the individuals she assumes to be evil in Medea are not the same people of her own world.
* MinorMajorCharacter: From her home series, ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'', Raphtalia was one of the main protagonists that aided Naofumi in defending her world from the goddess, Medea Pideth Machina. After the death of the goddess, Raphtalia and Naofumi went on to defend several worlds ''[[ProtagonistCenteredMorality from their perspective]]''. Though an important deity of the original story, Web!Raphtalia's only presence in ''Fanfic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'' was to appear in one chapter and cause a rampage among the fighters. Once done, Raphtalia is quickly defeated by Cardin and is never seen again, though her actions have long lasting consequences.
* MistakenIdentity: Seeing Ambition!Malty among the many people participating to battle the third wave, Raphtalia assumes her to the same vile person like her web novel counterpart, and ignores the possible redeeming qualities Ambition!Malty has and how she has left a positive influence on her party.
* MysteriousVeil: A veil of magic exists outside of her face and the face of her own body doesn't appear to have any facial features on it.
* NotSoInvincibleAfterAll: Web!Raphtalia gets her arm broken as a last act of defiance from Pope Balmus before the latter's death. By having her arm be broken, it signals the Legendary Heroes and the remaining fighters still alive in the third wave that Web!Raphtalia can be beaten with enough effort.
* ObliviouslyEvil: She believes her actions to kill specific individuals in Medea that resemble the same people once hated deserves to die. However, the people Raphtalia is attempting to kill in Medea are [[AdaptedOut innocent of the crimes she assumes they made]] or whatever crimes [[AdaptationalHeroism they made are much]] more downplayed. As a result of her actions, Raphtalia is reviled as a monster for hurting the people that are seen as heroes.
* OneWomanArmy: Her arrival as the last threat of the third wave has her be the most formidable foe the soldiers are forced to prepare for in the unexpected appearance of Lautrec summoning her. Web!Raphtalia's strength as a goddess gives her the power to face off an army of soldiers, take on Pope Balmus, and dispatch the Legendary Heroes on her own.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: She can set off shockwaves from hitting her hammer at her targets and the skills she has is so high above everyone else battling the third wave, that none of the best knights or Legendary Heroes have been able effectively hurt her. On top of having godlike powers, Web!Raphtalia has [[HeroKiller brought down several important figures and knights of Melromarc.]]
* SickeningCrunch: A crunch of a broken bone is made by Pope Balmus breaking one of her arms in a final attack to injure her.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Her only major appearance is in chapter 94, and the time she spends within the chapter is to massacre those she perceives as the [[VanHelsingHateCrimes same repulsive individuals that came from her world. not acknowledging them as different people]]. When Raphtalia is stopped and sent back to her world in chapter 95 and is never seen again, the impact she left had given rise to Confessor Oliver Cromwell and Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie to turn the Three Heroes Church into becoming a dangerous threat.
* UnskilledButStrong: Raphtalia doesn't know any proper battle stances to maximize her powers and is seen as looking clumsy as to how she positions herself in battle. Despite Raphtalia's lack of fighting stance, she makes up for it by having godlike powers that make her an InvincibleVillain to her foes in the third wave.
* VanHelsingHateCrimes: Regardless of how good of a person Ambition!Malty presents herself to everyone and is [[CharacterDevelopment slowing changing]] [[TookALevelInKindness to become better]], Raphtalia sees her as equally like the Web Novel!Malty who is nothing more than a one-note HateSink designed by Medea Pideth Machina to ruin several worlds.
* TheVictimMustBeConfused: Once she hears Ambition!Raphtalia call Mein as a mother and berate her for attempting to murder her in chapter 94, Web Novel!Raphtalia mistakes Ambition!Raphtalia's wording as her being a victim of Ambition!Malty manipulating everyone into thinking she is a good girl.
* WalkingSpoiler: Just from her name alone can alert viewers of her coming from the web novel story of ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'', and her entrance into ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'' has Raphtalia endanger or even kill the lives of several major characters.
* WorfEffect: To demonstrate the scale of how far she outclasses the warriors fighting the waves, Raphtalia has managed to stab Pope Balmus who is known for being a great physical combatant, and can hurt Zellus and Lotheringan - two knights who have given the Legendary Heroes a struggle in training.
* WreckedWeapon: Subverted. She manages to seemingly destroy Naofumi's shield just by touching it, something that's never never happened in Medea. In actuality, Web!Raphtalia stole Naofumi's shield and uses it as her arsenal of defense.
* WrongGenreSavvy: Once she is summoned to Medea, Raphtalia believes herself to be a heroic figure plunging the world of its evil by killing or making attempts in doing it to the same people who look like the ones who have caused problems in her original world. Those main people Raphtalia wishes dead are Malty and Pope Balmus, seeing those people as the same vile monster from her own world, but Raphtalia fails to realize they are a completely different set of individuals.

----
* CameBackStrong: The revival of the Thunder Lizard as a zombie gave it the ability of {{Necromancy}}, meaning that the surrounding corpses it comes across can be revived to amass itself an undead army.
* DyingAsYourself: Zilla looks to be causing destruction with no clear goal in mind as an undead Thunder Lizard, but by the time of her death in chapter 98, Zilla gets a conversation with Gaelion where she is able to express her last words to him.
* HiveMind: The undead Thunder Lizard operates on its undead victims following her consciousness to battle out any living beings that are out to get near her.
* ImMelting: Her death in chapter 98 is by melting away into a puddle of black goo from receiving Motoyasu's [Twin Dragon Strike] attack.
* ItCanThink: Zilla spends most of her time from debut and as an undead Thunder Lizard rampaging through villages with nothing clear to imply of her sapience. By the time Zilla's undead body is rotting away and Gaelion arrives to berate her for what she has become, [[DyingAsYourself Zilla shows her true self as a desperate mother wanting to protect her last child.]]
* MonsterIsAMommy: Zilla's gender remains unknown and acts as a rampaging monster that appears to have no agency. During her final moments as she slowly rots away into a puddle of goo, Zilla lets out her womanly voice that alerts the Three Legendary Heroes of her gender and role as a mother.
* {{Necromancy}}: Described by a soldier reporting to the Three Legendary Heroes of the Thunder Lizard's return, the creature's revival had given it the ability to revive other dead corpses, including fallen soldiers.
* {{Notzilla}}: The Thunder Lizard shares several characteristics of the Godzilla concept that Naofumi is quick to associate with. The creature itself has lightning powers and looks to be a giant creature that exists to cause mass destruction as a GenericDoomsdayVillain.

* EyeScream: Bovis and Draco smash their heavy weapons onto the dragon's skull in chapter 93, and the impact was so strong that the dragon's eyes had burst.
* ItCanThink: Downplayed. What sets apart the Void Leviathan from the other third wave monsters is that the Leviathan is the only one to have the sentience to have a preference at going after Naofumi and Mein as a source of dinner.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: When Mein and Naofumi are about to fall inside its mouth, the Leviathan is described as having so much teeth that it is all Mein could see. On top of having so many teeth, their sizes are even bigger than the one that Mein has on her face.

----
%%* AdaptationalBadass:
%%* AdaptationalWimp:
* AntiClimax: Being the true boss monster of the third wave, many of the soldiers and Legendary Heroes who are fighting it are left confused as to why it looks pathetic at looking like a monster, when compared to the previous monsters that the third wave had sent. The Soul Eater looking like a fish gains some sympathy for a few of the fighters, due to looking surprisingly normal for a boss monster and for flopping around like what a typical fish would do on land.
* AntiMagic: Its VacuumMouth is effective at defending itself from any magical attacks coming to harm it.
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: The Soul Eater is described by many others as a typical fish you'd see in fishing nets, except that the Soul Eater is enlarged to a huge size.
* BigBadWannabe: The Soul Eater is suppose to be the main threat that is causing the waves, and while it does pose a threat for sucking up magic with its VacuumMouth, the beast is quickly defeated by Confessor Cromwell blasting it with a strong beam of light once it's forced into a stationary position.

----
* AdaptationalWimp: In the ''Franchise/DragonBall'' series, Goku dying and getting revived multiple times meant that he always got stronger in fighting opponents that were stronger than him, which meant he could eventually face off even [[DestroyerDeity Gods of Destruction]] like Beerus.

[[folder:Lautrec '''(Spoilers)''']]
!!Lautrec
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 10/Chapter 9: Fighting for Freedom
!!!'''Origin:''' ''VideoGame/DarkSouls'' | ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''

* KarmaHoudini:
* MoreDespicableMinion:
* OverzealousUnderling:

%%* AdaptationalBadass:
* AdaptationalHeroism: Zig Zagged. From the original canon of the Shield Hero story, the Church of the Three Heroes were unambiguously evil in actively putting down Naofumi's heroic achievements and took their overly-zealous religion too far. The entire church in command of Pope Balmus and the members were all in agreement to take over Melromarc and needed to be stopped by all four heroes working together. Here in ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'', while there are some factions of the church have their ulterior motives, there are others who want to be genuinely peaceful, are reasonable in bringing their support to the commoners, and can put their religion aside to work with the Shield Hero's party to face off an undead Scourge.
* AdaptationalIntelligence: From canon, the church as a whole banned the usage of shields, because they do not wish to associate themselves with the Shield Hero in any way. However, by giving up shields, they lose a tactical advantage in fighting, just like how Pope Balmus' defeat in canon was the result of not creating a magical shield. ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'' has the church use shields for a [[BeliefMakesYouStupid tactical advantage and does not wish to waste such a valuable weapon over being too prideful of their beliefs.]]
-->'''Richard:''' Mighty stupid reason to forgo a strategy advantage. [[TakeThat Do you take us for badly written villains in come stage plays, or trashy knight novels for the audience to laugh at?]] Or do you think that the shield fanatics in Siltvelt refuse to use a weapon because their immortal god king doesn't? We wouldn't have beaten back the Siltvelt Invaders, if we were ''that'' stupid.
* BeliefMakesYouStupid: The most fanatical and zealous members of the Three Heroes Church are depicted as the most foolish, since the members plan on expanding their influence throughout all of Melromarc, but lack any real tactical planning or straight goals to achieve.
* BlatantLies: The Three Heroes Church claim to be protecting Princess Melty in their custody and taking care of Aultcray's injuries, but they are really only interested in expanding their influences onto nearby house inside of Melromarc.
* ChildishVillainMatureHero: The more reasonable authority figures of the Three Heroes Church such as Pope Balmus, Logarius, and smaller members who are able to side with Naofumi with no grudges attached are portrayed as heroic people. The more childish and highly fanatical side of the Three Heroes Church are actively against the Shield Hero and are willing to use violent methods to subjugate everyone into their rule.
* HostageSituation: The Three Heroes Church have a boy and their overly zealous followers lure the Three Heroes and their companions into a trap in chapter 111. The Church does so with the intent to turn Bertia and Iris into their own hostages, as so they can pressure their fathers from retaliating against the Three Heroes Church, because of their daughters' endangerment.
* DisneyVillainDeath: The last army of the Three Heroes Church brought to suppress Graile's rebellion meet their doom by Streibough performing a TakingYouWithMe in the form of an earthquake spell to drag everyone down from a great height.
* EvilPowerVacuum: Discussed. After the fall of Biscas T. Balmus and in his comatose state, Cromwell becomes [[TyrantTakesTheHelm the Tyrant That Takes The Helm]] in controlling the remains of the Three Heroes Church. Though Cromwell may be in control, Malty and Uranus don't expect the case to last for long in chapter 105, as there is a chance another greedy member of the church may backstab Cromwell for the position of leader.
%%* HitlerAteSugar:
* KarmicMisfire: Believing that Naofumi and Mein are in some way responsible for the goddess beating down on everyone in chapter 94, Cromwell and Consevatie convince their church members to go into conflict with each other to blame Naofumi and Mein. Reasonings to think that the event is of Naofumi's fault is Cromwell believing he failed to keep Lautrec under watch and Naofumi is the Shield Devil. Consevatie on the other hand just wants to slander Mein as a coward that ran away from the goddess only interested in killing her.
* KnightOfCerebus: Although ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'' is not really a comedy series and occasionally has its moments where the main characters get into comical shenanigans, the appearance or interactions with the Church of the Three Heroes either downplays or removes any potential comedy in exchange of focusing on the political drama to gain more power.
* PoliticalHostage: An unnamed boy demands with the Three Heroes to hand them over Bertia Ibil Nochers and Iris Lana Amelia to the Three Heroes Church. Iris, sensing something wrong with the boy's demands in chapter 111, she calls out that she and Bertia are likely to be used as a PoliticalHostage against their fathers to not attack the Three Heroes Church, and the reason Katarina is not mentioned is because her father is safe at Cal Mira island.
* ZergRush: The knights of Graile that might have been collaborating with the Three Heroes Church choose to enslave everybody in their city by outnumbering every commoner in numbers and not having any strategy beyond quantity. Deconstructed, as it means that Malty, Naofumi, Demitrius, Uranus, Streibough, and Oersted are able to slip through the knights and hide out into Nagumo's dojo in chapter 104.

* DefiantToTheEnd: The sword of Web!Raphtalia is left hanging on his body, but rather than fully give up and just die, Pope Balmus uses his arms to smash the arm of the goddess that stabbed him with her sword.
* DeusExitMachina: Being the pope of the Three Heroes Church, Balmus has the most control among the organization, as a majority of his followers look up to him, despite some members being more fanatically inclined to hate the Shield Hero. However, due to being put in a coma in the aftermath fight against Web!Raphtalia, Balmus' lack of presence results in Cromwell and Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie taking control of the Three Heroes Church to arrest Naofumi and Malty.

%%* AdaptationalExpansion:
* AdaptationalVillainy: Sister Amelia's only villainous actions in ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'' was to deny Naofumi his chance to have access to the dragon hour glass by King Aultcray's order and her reaction to Naofumi's denial is to let out an arrogant smile. By ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'', Sister Amelia plays an active role in expanding the Three Heroes Church to claim all of Melromarc and being far more than just a rude jerk in canon.
* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: She discusses a demand with Father Gordon of the Four Heroes Church in chapter 103, but he refuses to give her what she wants. For Father Gordon's inability to grant her request, Sister Amelia goes to stab him in the stomach by the end of the chapter.
* AscendedExtra: In ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'', she acted as a SpearCarrier character that only appeared in one scene to deny Naofumi holy water. By ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'', Sister Amelia is a major member of the Three Heroes Church that recurs in arcs that involve her taking charge as a leader.
* BlasphemousPraise: She praises Consevatie as a god for having beaten up Bartfort on his own in chapter 112, even though her faith dictates her to believe that the Three Heroes are the ones that should be on a pedestal.
* DirtyCoward: As soon as trouble in Graile is spurred and she is unable to find suitable evidence to frame Naofumi and Malty as confederates of their real selves, Sister Amelia flees Graile in hopes of avoiding the upstart of a rebellion. When Sister Amelia does return back to Graile in chapter 110, she makes sure to bring an army of the Three Heroes Church as back up to ensure victory and her own safety.
* DisneyVillainDeath: Along with the army she brought back to Graile for a last round to end the rebellion, Sister Amelia is killed by Streibough opening up an earthquake that sends her down the pits of a large chasm in chapter 110.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Exaggerated. In response for the punch she received from Father Gordon and because the latter is refusing to give into her demands, Sister Amelia screeches at her knights and indirectly every knight in Graile to [[LeaveNoSurvivors burn down everyone]].
* EyeTake: Sister Amelia's eyes widened in shock at chapter 108 from witnessing Naofumi debunk her claims of him not being the Shield Hero and for inspiring a revolution in Graile.
* HeroWorshipper: She becomes a worshipper of Consevatie from watching him beat up Bartfort, and giving him BlasphemousPraise as someone who is a god in chapter 112.
* HesitationEqualsDishonesty: In her attempt to discredit Naofumi and Malty from playing their true selves in chapter 108, Sister Amelia at first has confidence in denouncing that Naofumi isn't the Shield Hero if he has no shield. However, Naofumi expecting to be denounced pulls out his imitated buckler shield, and any attempts of Sister Amelia's further deception is only blatant denials with a hesitation to bring confidence to her own lies.
%%* {{Jerkass}}:
%%* KarmaHoudineWarranty:
* LeaveNoSurvivors: She makes an order in chapter 104 to enslave or kill everyone in Graile, as a result from getting a well-deserved punch from Gordon for having stabbed his stomach.
%%* MovingTheGoalposts:
* NamedByTheAdaptation: ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'' only had her be a SpearCarrier that only said a few lines and lacked a name in her sole appearance. The fanfic gives the priestess the name of Sister Amelia, as so she is associated to House Amelia and be an AscendedExtra that plays a major role for the Three Heroes Church.
* NotQuiteDead: Sister Amelia appeared to have died in chapter 110 by Streibough landing her to a DisneyVillainDeath in an earthquake. It turns out, however, that Sister Amelia survived the earthquake looking dirty when she returns in chapter 112 steaming with rage for having failed conquering Graile.
* OCStandIn: Being a minor character from her home series, Sister Amelia's only known trait was that she was a SmugSmiler that was proud of denying Naofumi a level-up from the dragon hour glass. At her role in ''FanFic/AmbitionOfTheRedPrincess'', Sister Amelia's expanded role gives her the personality of an overzealous church member willing to do absolutely anything to uphold the unstable teachings of the Three Heroes Church, at the cost of ruining the Four Legendary Heroes and noble houses.
* RevengeByProxy: From either Father Gordon denying to fulfill her demands or receiving a punch from him for having stabbed the latter, Sister Amelia makes an order for her knights to enslave everyone that is holding out demi-humans or Cultist, as she believes that every person in Graile had made themselves to be just as bad as the Three Heroes Church's enemies.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Rather than to deal with the rebellion uprising in Graile, she leaves all of her church templars and slave fighters to do the fighting, while she takes her time to flee from all the conflict in chapter 109.
%%* SinsOfOurFathers:
* SlaveRace: Invoked. Her words to burn down everyone in the Graile at chapter 104 is to have the knights inside of the city to attach a Slave Crest onto anyone, so as to expand the rule of the Three Heroes Church.
* TeamKiller: Downplayed. Father Gordon, a member of the Four Heroes Church which is a branch of the Three Heroes Church is killed by Sister Amelia in chapter 103 for failure to accept a deal with her.
* ThisCannotBe: Sister Amelia is left in disbelief that Naofumi can somehow imitate a fake shield with his balloons to debunk her claim that he isn't the Shield Hero in chapter 108. Having no more tricks up her sleeve, Sister Amelia can only resort to making denials with no claim to solidify her lies to turn the public away from Naofumi and Malty.
%%* UngratefulBitch:
* VillainousBreakdown:
** She quickly undergoes a breakdown of yelling in chapter 108 as a reaction to the people of Graile rebelling against the Three Heroes Church's, and Naofumi and Malty making their appearances to further strengthen the revolution. All while in the background, Sister Amelia could only deny everything that is happening and make futile orders to fight the rebels.
** In the aftermath of Graile's rebellion, Sister Amelia's reintroduction back into the story at chapter 112 has her rage be let loose to blame Naofumi and Malty for having interfered her attempts to have Graile be taken control by the Three Heroes Church.
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: From watching Firo in chapter 96 make several defiant words against Consevatie and the church to stay loyal to Naofumi, Sister Amelia suggests for Consevatie to let the bird die, as Firo is shown to be way too rebellious to be controlled. Consevatie on the other hand wants Firo alive for being a monarch breed filorial.
* WithUsOrAgainstUs: In her praise to uplift Consevatie as a god at chapter 112, she claims that his will is to cast down all the Legendary Heroes, and anyone who fails to support the Church of the Three Heroes are to be labeled as heretics.

* ChildSoldiers: The church had turned the demi-human orphans after the Great War from 25 years ago into {{Tykebomb}}s that are loyal to them through the teachings provided. By chapter 91, the demi-humans are turned into an army of soldiers used to fight the monsters of the third wave.
* SlaveCollar: Mittelt and Cain are shown to have a slave seal be attached on their bodies for choosing to object with Cromwell's orders to have the Shield Hero and all his companions be detained. Even if the demi-humans are loyal followers of the Church, the higherups still see them as animals to be enslaved at the possibility of being questioned.
* ShockCollar: The demi-humans may have their loyalties set to the Three Heroes Church, but the higherup members have them be wearing a SlaveCollar that can shock them for their disobedience.
* {{Tykebomb}}: In chapter 91, it's revealed through Mein's observations that the Church of the Three Heroes had been taking demi-human orphans that were left over from the Great War that was 25 years ago. The demi-human slaves were then Indoctrinated by the church to become strict followers of their beliefs.

* KarmaHoudini:
* MoreDespicableMinion:
* OverzealousUnderling:

''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''
A version of Raphtalia originating from the web novel version of ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''. In the aftermath of the web novel's events, Raphtalia alongside with Naofumi have attained godlike abilities from the death of Medea Pideth Machina. This Raphtalia is brought into the world of Medea via Lautrec summoning her. Once arriving into Medea, Raphtalia begins a rampage to kill those she assumes to be the same evil people that originally came from her world.

[[folder:Lautrec '''(Spoilers)''']]
!!Lautrec
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 10/Chapter 9: Fighting for Freedom
!!!'''Origin:''' ''VideoGame/DarkSouls'' | ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''

* KarmaHoudini:
* MoreDespicableMinion:
* OverzealousUnderling:

* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Anyone who is revived by the undead scourge lacks a soul inside their body, causing them to have a distorted or lack of understanding towards what is right or wrong.
* CameBackWrong: As an undead, they act initially fine from the effects of the Scourge, but the longer they stay mobile, more of their mind is slowly lost into insanity, until becoming nothing more than mindless beasts.
* EmptyShell: Getting revived by the undead scourge can have the person be at first, capable of acting normal in societal standards, but in the end, they lack a soul and will eventually be driven into insanity.
* SanitySlippage: The sanest person that is immediately revived by the Scourge will eventually lose their sanity to become a mindless spawn.

[[folder:Thunder Lizard/Godzilla/Zilla]]
!!Thunder Lizard/Godzilla/Zilla
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 61/Chapter 51: Saving Shield Hero
!!!'''Origin:''' ''Franchise/{{Godzilla}}''
----
* CameBackStrong: The revival of the Thunder Lizard as a zombie gave it the ability of {{Necromancy}}, meaning that the surrounding corpses it comes across can be revived to amass itself an undead army.

!!Third Wave Enemies
[[folder:Void Dragon Leviathan]]
!!Void Dragon Leviathan
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 91/Chapter 79: Order Tide
!!!'''Origin:''' ''OriginalCharacter''
A dragon monster that spends most of its time being a SuperPersistentPredator to swallow Mein and Naofumi as part of its meal.
----
* DefeatEqualsExplosion: The Void Dragon meets its end by getting hit by a beam of energy that penetrates its body. Once the leviathan has its body penetrated, it violently explodes into a ball of fire.
* SuperPersistentPredator: Once Mein and Naofumi succeed in escaping its grasp, the Void Dragon becomes persistent in only wanting to chase after them as a meal, instead of just leaving them to face off the rescuers coming for Naofumi and Mein.

[[folder:Soul Eater Fish]]
!!Soul Eater
!!!'''Debut:''' Chapter 93/Chapter 81: Soul Storm
!!!'''Origin:''' ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero''
The main boss of the third wave that looks to be a giant fish that flails around the battlefield of Medea.
----
%%* AdaptationalBadass:
* VacuumMouth: Any magic thrown at the Soul Eater are negated by having the magic be sucked into its mouth to minimize any damage effect.

* CoquettishLipBiting: She lips her lips approaching Naofumi and Oersted in chapter 114 to tease them into giving them reasons to compensate for her sleep getting interrupted.
