A old noble house seated at the castle of Runestone, north of Gulltown and on the coast of the Narrow Sea. They are one of the most powerful bannermen of House Arryn and predate House Arryn's rule of the Vale, being descended from the First Men who first ruled the region. House Royce has a large collection of ancient bronze armors inscribed with runes that supposedly protect the wearer from injury. Several smaller houses swear fealty to House Royce, including Houses Coldwater, Shett, and Tollett. House Royce's sigil and words are unknown.
