* Chapter 17 has Luz being held at gun point by a RightWingMilitiaFanatic. [[CasualDangerDialogue Her first response is politely ask him what he wants]] with a SeenItAll until he fires warning shots scaring away thee other shoppers. She simply disarms the gunman by grabbing the rifle out of his hands and crushes it with mere squeeze with one hand, scaring him off his feet.
--> '''Luz''': ''(TranquilFury)'' Now. I don’t think I have to tell you how stupid that was.
** She also notes scared off the last 2 people that raised a gun on her with just a DeathGlare. Guess they knew better than to cross out AntiHero.
** After being mortally wounded by gunshots from behind by more {{Church Militant}}s, the Latina girl's HealingFactor allows her to survive her gunshots wounds and regrow a new arm while her assailants have a MassOhCrap expression on their faces. Luz grabs the first gunman by the neck and uses him as a HumanShield against his comrades' next salvo of lead. She then proceeds to smack the next gunman so hard with her SuperStrength that she caves in his chest, taking down in 2 threats in short order.
** The third one is revealed to be superhuman with a MultiArmedAndDangerous Quirk that can meshed to together as GiantHndsOfDoom. The hitman is able to break Luz's AbsurdlySharpClaws when she tried to stab him and proceeds to send her flying through multiple aisles until she hits the wall.

** All For One has been to The Boiling Isles before and intends to find a way to get there again. During the supervillain's time there, he turned a few of the natives into [[TheMole his moles]], including a few in The Emperor's Coven! He had enough charisma to convince the cult-like loyal elite belong to Belos to come work for him instead.

Sounds like sounds like Luz is getting a cult-following when she goes to the Demon Realm for some much needed allies. Oh boy, imagine Belos's face when he finds that out.

** A heroic one for Eda Clawthorne. Its also heavily implied the Titan's Blood Shigaraki got his hands on came from King after he got a hold of him when the 2 ended up in the "The Mutant Realm". This means one two things: Eda was able to sneak into the {{Big Bad}}'s SupervillainLair, grab the young Titan and escape back their home dimension without getting caught. Or, even more impressive, Eda went full MamaBear mode and fought her way through, possibly including All For One himself long enough to rescue her surrogate son to pull a ScrewThisImOuttaHere for the both of them. If its the latter, then Eda has lived up her claim of being "The Strongest Witch of The Boiling Isles" by taking on the self-proclaimed "Demon King" and getting away with it. [[HandicappedBadass And that's factoring her being hindered by her Curse]]!

** Another villainous one. The climax with the chapter not only reveals that [[GreaterScopeVillain Emperor Belos]] is working with his (possible) descendants (without them knowing) to deal with the superhumans. He has the means in this story to communicate and travel to the Human Realm, due to Shigaraki's brief meddling in the Boiling Isles a decade ago. The last part checks out with Millie confirmed to be an actual witch from his Coven.

--> ''Rikitatsu Shigaraki was a man of planning. He never did anything without a plan, a backup plan should that original plan fail, and another backup plan if that backup plan fell through. Some people would call him meticulous to a fault, and perhaps that was his downfall prior to his death, but he had plans in place should he ever die before his plan with Tomura would see through. And right now, he was grinning ear to ear. He had been put in the perfect body for his backup plan to work, what with Luz being young, full of life, and completely oblivious to what it was he was attempting to do.''

* The beginning of chapter 16, is darkly villainous one for All For One and his Evil Plan involving Luz. You'd think his death at All Might's hands would've caused him to have a HeelRealization or decide to become a RetiredMonster and act as a SpiritAdvisor for his Quirk's successor. Hell no. [[DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist He merely views his situation of being dead and trapped in a child's mind as a temporary inconvenience]].

Despite the DarkerAndEdgier nature of this story, there are still moments that easily live up to the canons of both sources.

! In General

Let's be honest. Despite the DarkerAndEdgier nature of this story, there are still moments that not just live up to canon of both sources but jump over the bar of it.

* In chapter 5, Luz first meets Shigaraki in her MentalWorld she can immediately tell this guy is ObviouslyEvil {{Supervillain}} and to take what he says with a grain of salt. Despite initially getting excited when he appeals to her desire to be TheChosenOne, finding out she has a PowerParasite Quirk she says what an awful thing it is to others. When he tries to plant the belief that Quirks have AddictiveMagic behind them, the young teen calls him out on being a ManipulativeBastard and lets him he's not gonna do things his way and become a bad guy. She may be a CloudCuckooLander, but Luz is GenreSavvy enough to know that All For One isn't trustworthy and the EnemyWithin will have to be a bit more subtle in his manipulations to have any chance in winning Luz over.
** It has a retroactive one for [[BigGood All Might]]. This chapter also confirms that unlike canon, All Might managed to put down All For One for good — a man who had, by his own admission, 1000+ Quirks at his disposal and [[EvilOverlord who basically ruled Japan in the shadows for at least a century]] — 5 years before the start of My Hero Academia story. Even if he still became a HandicappedBadass in the aftermath, he took down the main BigBad in his universe permanently, avenging his sensei and everyone else that suffered because of that evil bastard.
* In chapter 6, when Luz reveals her PowerParasite ability to her entire team. Instead of being afraid of her, they point how incredibly useful that's going to be in this DeadlyGame and consider her TheAce in hole for the Alpha Squadron to DePower the other teams if they try to kill them.

** In climax of the chapter, Luz takes her first Quirk taking her first step, in All For One's words, "on the road to becoming the strongest human being this world would ever know". Julia viewing her new friend as a MessianicArchetype and looks like to become the first devoted cult member.

Stanley all but tells him to piss off, invokes ScrewTheMoneyIHaveRules , pimp slaps the SmugSnake into a tree after he tries to punch him and is prepared to fight the other enemies he noticed hiding in the darkness to [[BigBrotherInstinct protect his leader]]. * At the beginning of chapter 11, [[EvilFormerFriend Kennedy]] approaches [[LovableJock Stanley]] at night and attempts to invoke ThePromise they made to watch each others' backs by getting him to betray Luz for extra prize money. Stanley all but tells him to piss off, invokes ScrewTheMoneyIHaveRules , ScrewTheMoneyIHaveRules, pimp slaps the SmugSnake into a tree after he tries to punch him and is prepared to fight the other enemies he noticed hiding in the darkness to [[BigBrotherInstinct protect his leader]]. If he wasn't sent to the Death Camp, he could have potentially been one of his world's first superheroes.

** After Luz sends her remaining teammates away to safety and waiting nearly 2 whole days with no food, water and very little sleep for the perpetrators to come back, they arrive expecting an easy kill. The second All For One user quickly proves them wrong by bringing down the large boy [[SmugSnake Kennedy]] just ordered to murder her first by using her new VibrationManipulation Quirk to make his heart '''explode'''. After absorbing his SuperStrength Quirk, she gains Shigaraki's [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]] and gives a PsychoticSmirk to the now the terrified teenaged killers are having a DeerInTheHeadlights reaction. Let's be honest. Despite the DarkerAndEdgier nature of this story, there are still moments that not just live up to canon of both sources but jump over the bar of it.

** It has a retroactive one for [[BigGood All Might]]. This chapter also confirms that unlike canon, All Might managed to put down All For One for good — a man who had, by his own admission, 2000+ Quirks at his disposal and [[EvilOverlord who basically ruled Japan in the shadows for at least a century]] — 5 years before the start of My Hero Academia story. --> '''Shigaraki''': My point is, Luz, is that those around you who have had power over you used it to make you feel small, weak, and little. And in the back of your mind, you’ve always wanted to strip that power from them. Now that you have the means to, are you really going to try and tell me that you would never do such a thing? That now that you have the means to point back at the world, and tell them for once that they’re wrong, that you won’t?

* To be clear: after mutating to express those Quirks, Luz's left "arm" is bigger than the entire rest of her body, and is wrapped in thorny vines and metal spikes sticking out of a pile of stitched-together flesh. It's an abomination that wouldn't look out of place on a demon from The Boiling Isles, and looks even more monstrous attached to the teenaged girl. Its very reminiscent of the same move All For One used to attempt to finish off All Might in their final battle. As she attacks finishes off Kennedy, she makes it clear he brought his demise on himself before crushing him to death.
