She even has Sabine followed and found out her daughter was seeing a therapist which angered her and made you think that Sabine was weak and betraying their family's secrets. Meifen even threatens to use her own needle (one in her hair) to give Sabine acupuncture over therapy. She threatens to cut Sabine's studies in Paris off over this until Sabine can have better control of her emotions and not betray the family's secrets.

When Chelsea returns alive she expresses no relief and basically disowns her for her failure. Upon realizing she fell in love with Ruby, she exiles her as a siren and outright gives her people orders to kill her if she's seen again.
** A flashback of Agatha's childhood shows that Emerald would always yell at her if she did something unprincess like and if she talked back then things would get "messier". Their relationship becomes more strained after chapter five when Agatha stops Emerald from killing Chelsea.

The parents emotionally abuse her to get the powers to spike. They get killed off by Renenutet.]]
* In ''Fanfic/IWillRememberYou'', Ulrich Stern's father is a vicious, depraved man who beats his wife and son for years. Mr. Stern ultimately destroys Ulrich mentally and leaves him covered in scars and living under a new name after the latter throws his father through a wall.
* In one chapter of ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' fanfic ''Fanfic/{{Ladder}}'', Bubbles is at the hospital [[spoiler:to get her blinded eye checked out]] and decides to try and cheer up some of the younger kids. She meets a boy her age who is bed-bound due to his father beating him up. He beat him so badly that he lost one of his eyes and had multiple lacerations.

* ''Fanfic/ShinraHighSOLDIER'' has three prominent examples: Julia's mother and father forced her into prostitution when she was younger and locked her up in a mental institution for three years. Her father beat and raped her, and ultimately tried to kill her. Hojo has been physically and mentally abusing Sephiroth since he was born.
* In the ''Manga/CardCaptorSakura'' ContinuationFic ''Fanfic/ShadowOfTheDragon'', [[TheBully school bully]] Satome's mother Himiko, Tomoeda's district attorney, is revealed to be one, constantly beating him because he is the [[ChildByRape product of rape]] and she only sees him as a reminder of said rape; as a result, Satome has become a StrawMisogynist and [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil serial rapist]]. In chapter 19, when Satome is in jail for his AttemptedRape of Tomoyo, he tells the lawyer assigned to him that his mother put him in the hospital ''eight times'' for a total of fifteen broken bones, and that he's perfectly willing to confess to ''all'' of his rape charges as long as it keeps him away from his mother until he's twenty. Shortly after, however, his mother arranges for him to be assassinated and his death is ruled as a suicide because his status as a rapist would reflect poorly on her career of prosecuting sexual predators.
* ''Fanfic/SonOfApophis'', a ''Anime/YuGiOh'' fanfic, takes the abuse Marik experiences to a whole new level. His father actually attempts to mute him.
* In ''Fanfic/TheSagaOfAvatarKorra'' while Korra's biological parents are good people, she was kidnapped by the Red Lotus who claimed that her parents were dead, and they would become her new parents. For fourteen years, they subject Korra to psychological and physical abuse in a continuous TrainingFromHell regiment.
* ''Fanfic/ThreadbareSouthPark'': Charlie's mother beats her so badly, she is left with bruises. [[spoiler: When Mr. Mackey calls Ms. Pierzynski, in an attempt to confirm the accusations, she puts poor Charlie in the hospital. Doctors discover she was force-fed '''bleach'''.]]
* In ''[[https://archiveofourown.org/works/2038305 Your Servant, Mistress]]'', an all-human fic, Diaval's parents are the explanation for his scars. And Maleficent was raised by her aunt, who emotionally abused her.

** Shouta's parents were young and not ready to be parents and he was largely left to his own devices by high school aside from them giving him money. To their credit, they later realize they were jerks and ask for a second chance. Shouta is uneasy and fears he or Hitoshi could be hurt but a little joint intervention from Hitoshi and Midnight convinces him thateven if he isn't ready to forgive them yet, he can at least allow them a chance to prove themselves.

** Bakugou Mitsuki is abusive towards Katsuki, always yelling and beating him for discipline, and derides him endlessly whenever he fails to achieve something. The father Masaru on the other hand is negletful, never really interacting with his son and wife to the point that Katsuki calls him a "ghost" in the house.

* Fanfic/NaturalSelection: Ragyo subjected all three of her daughters to almost constant emotional, physical, and [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil sexual]] abuse. The result is her two younger daughters end up becoming AxCrazy psychos.

** Julia's parents, being the Christian extremists that they are, weren't very accepting of their daughter being a lesbian, as well as someone who liked to do things outside of their religion, so the family ostracized her, locking her to one specific part of the house that she wasn't allowed to leave. When her superpowers came in, [[IHaveNoSon they kicked her out of the house and sent her away to Reality Check Summer Camp just to get rid of her]]. They didn't even bother to go to her funeral. [[spoiler:If that wasn't bad enough, he helped the Governor with his plans for the Death Camp, effectively sending her off to her death.]]

''Fanfic/CinderellaTheTRUESequel'' is a rewrite of the second sequel; ''[[WesternAnimation/CinderellaIIIATwistInTime A Twist in Time]]'', which shows Lady Tremaine at arguably her ''absolute worst'', as it shows her unveiling her true colours towards not only Cinderella and Anastasia, but also Drizella and even LUCIFER.

* The parents of Inquisitor Alexiel Trevelyan in FanFic/ABlackArrowInTheFog were both emotionally abusive to him and his other siblings. Bann Trevelyan cruelly forced his children into the roles he'd picked out for them since birth regardless of whatever aspirations ''actually'' made them happy, with him giving no affection to Alexiel in particular because he was an "extra" child whom he had no use for. Lady Trevelyan meanwhile is stated to have "given up" on her family and did nothing to stop him, while also treating Alexiel like a monster because of his [[CreepyChild antisocial tendencies]].
