Nameless YKTTW launched as Roma: From YKTTW
Working Title: They\'re Just Gypsies: From YKTTW
Meta4: Some examples that came up in YKTTW, but they need more information:
- Bromwell High had an episode devoted to the scummy side of the trope.
- Edward D. Hoch had a long-running series with a Roma lead (the Michael Vlado series).
- I think I managed to catch an episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog once upon a time involving a gypsy curse...
- IMDb Keyword Search has hundreds of entries for movies/TV shows with Gypsies.
- James Bond: From Russia With Love.
- Wild Wild West episode "The Night of the Gypsy Peril".
- King of the Gypsies.
- I really don't know if the original British gypsies were Roma or Irish Travellers, but I know they pop up in one Jane Austen novel as attacking one of the heroines and are kind of ambivalently treated in Jane Eyre.
- There's the gipsy clan in Steven King's Thinner, right?
- There sure is.
Magneto: As of Magneto: Testament, it has been firmly established that Magneto is neither a Gypsy, nor a Jewish Gypsy, nor anything of the sort; he was born and raised a Jew. His wife was Roma. So I have removed the 'but...' entries because this would seem to be the definitive account of his early life.
This troper is allegedly part Roma IRL. So there.
- So is this one. She has a hot temper but prides herself on her honesty.
