Is there some upper limit to how many people are allowed to gush about one show they like, or why were some of the examples with many people gushing over them cut shorter?

Haven: I would just like to point out that both times I've tried to edit this someone else was already editing it. Good thing we got page locking back up before launching this, huh? :P

Lord TNK: Yeah, some pages were a mess with that.

Meta Four: Regarding:
Metax4

  • This bit makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I love you too, man.

fleb: On that note... cutting the unfunny additions that keep popping up, hydra-style, and spoiling the awesome comic timing.

Inkblot: Comic timing? What about the Rule of Three?

theorc: Does anyone think the Twilight bit sounds too much like Flame Bait? I know people like the series, but that seems designed to anger this wiki.

Ouroboros: Leave the Twilight, even if it is flame bait, we still can't be sure of that. After all where else can a fan of the series gush over it without reprisal?

Janitor: Yeah, let the haters go to Complain About Shows You Dont Like.

Insert Witty Name Here: And removing it would just be taking the bait anyway.

vifetoile: Anyone else starting to feel that splitting the Media Templates up into their own separate pages is a good idea? And does the Darth Wiki have that implemented as well?

Lord TNK: Sounds good. I'll split them off this weekend.

Janitor Use the Gush/ namespace. I'll rig it for colors.

Lord TNK: Done, but left a few that were small enough to fit.

SpiriTsunami: Should we have one for Fan Fics, too? We already have Fan Fic recommendations, but that actually has to take things from a serious (read:Wiki-esque) point of view. I'm a gusher, I'll admit it.

Charred Knight: Not Necessary? half the ones I see are only one sentence long. Go overboard! This should be complimenting to Beyond the Impossible.

Fast Eddie: Just let the folks gush the amount they want to. If it becomes a gushing contest, it will get too ridiculous, too fast. Besides, some folks are using this un-ironically.

Charred Knight: None of my gushing has been in an ironic manner, I am just not showing restraint. Their just seems to be some restraint going on, and I don't know why.

Gwen Stacy Wannabe: I think perhaps some of us might be too much in awe of our favorite shows/movies/books/whatever to form coherent gushing, so we have to be brief or it will all come out like asdefaesfiomsewe. This doesn't apply to me, of course.

Freezair For A Limited Time: I love to ramble, I admit. I don't quite go to Walls of Text, but I do like to give my favorite things all the good stuff they got comin' to 'em.

On an unrelated note, these pages give me tons of gooey warm fuzzies. ^w^

Dragon Quest Z: What the fuck? I'm glad it got cut, but did someone just paste parts of complain about shows you don't like here?

Rissa: Yes. Page history attributes it to Unknown My Sparkly Peen 72.231.222.145.

  • Cut for: "unfunny stuff": Steamroll us with your MDMA positive thoughts!
fleb: I thought it was actually funny.
Kerrah: Hope nobody minds my hideous face on this page of happiness.

This is not a My Space page. Please, don't post pictures of yourself.

Kerrah: You're mean, whoever you are (PS, discussion pages usually have signed edits). Later edit: This Doc guy got blocked, it seems. Anyone know whether what he said has any substance behind it or not?

triassicranger: No. Let me put it to you this way, he tried to act like Magneto but instead ended up looking like Doctor Doofenshmirtz.

Kerrah: Then I'm readding the picture, I guess.

Ialdabaoth: Aaaand I'm taking it back out. Please understand, this site is not all about you. And if we allow you to post your vanity photos, we have to allow everyone else who wants to, and then there'll be anarchy. I tried just Ad-Blocking your photo but for some reason it blocked crucial editing buttons on the site from appearing in Firefox. Thank you for your consideration. Remember, this is not just your page.

Rogue 7: I'd vote to keep. It fits the trope perfectly. And Kerrah, you've got good taste from what I can see.

Pink Lime: I also vote for keeping it. Like Rogue7 said, it fits the trope, and as far as I can see, Kerrah isn't claiming that this is his page. And finally: Why so serious? This is Sugar Wiki, you know.

Kerrah: Now I feel like I'm responsible for all this fighting and ire, which is kinda the opposite of what I was feeling when I added the photo. Later edit: The picture's getting removed twice a week with no edit reasons beyond, I quote, "KILLMAIMBURNKILLMAIMBURNKILLMAIMBURNKILLMAIMBURNKILLMAIMBURN".

Rebochan: Sorry, did we ever make up our minds on this? Because I restored the image from before the edits by the vandal and someone else deleted it under the impression it was agreed not to be included. I got the opposite impression. Anyone?

{Ununnilium: Wait, why would you even put a picture of yourself on this page? What does a picture of yourself have to do with the trope? `.`

fleb: Nay on the picture. 'Tis pointless.

BrightBlueInk: I personally liked the picture. It didn't seem like being an Attention Whore to me, just a picture that fit in with the true spirit of the trope. Although I'd rather see it taken down than it causing an argument, but it'll disappoint me to see it go.

Rebochan: I'm surprised there isn't some big giant clip-art heart on this page. It would fit the purpose. Edit: Which I've done. What do y'all think?

BrightBlueInk: I don't know if it reflects the idea quite as well as the original picture, but it still works, and...if anyone starts a fight about clip-art hearts, they need to get off the internet for a while.

Inkblot: I'm not sure about the clip-art hearts. It seems too close to Tastes Like Diabetes.

Rebochan: I think that's the entire point of this page.

Komodin: I... still don't understand why this page is still around, while its Darth Wiki counterpart has been given the axe. I mean, I like positivity as much as the next guy, but the fact that there's no page for constructive criticism just bugs me.

Dragon Quest Z: People are being nice here. They weren't being nice on the other page.

As for Constructive Criticism, even though the page doesn't allow any, I have a forum thread to do this.

Komodin: Hmm, that doesn't really strike me as being a very good reason.

At any rate, why do we still have a link to the axed page if it's not of any use anymore?

Rebochan: The reason the other page is gone is because people were using it to post racist and hateful statements and moderating it became nigh on impossible.

Inkblot: In that case, why not bring back the Ultimate Troll Entry?

Rissa: I know we're not TOW, but "Don't stuff beans up your nose" springs to mind.

Inkblot: Well, why not? It would go well with the Darth Wiki's tongue-in-cheek style, and as long as we specify not to make troll entries about people/groups of people we'll be fine.

Rebochan: The problem is, from past experience on this wiki, it's impossible to get people to follow some simple rules, like don't be a racist hateful freak, when given even the illusion of free reign to spout off their thoughts.

Stranger: Sometimes, I've been seeing character praise being brought up on this page. Shouldn't all that stuff go to "Gushing About Characters You Like"?
