From YKTTW Working Title: You Have to Have Jews
Jonny D: I agree that it makes sense not to have a list of examples for this trope, since you'd either end up trying to list every Jewish character in fiction, or you'd end up in a very subjective situation trying to decide which shows had a disproportionately high concentration of Jews, which ones this is justified, such as NYC setting and so on and the whole shebang would easily slide into a big flame war, especially when you get people confusing the non-racist "higher proportion that you would expect based on real-life demographics" with the racist "higher than it should be/ than I like".
However, would it be safe to have a list of examples in fiction when the trope is lampshaded, such as the Spamalot and Jon Stewart mentions?

SonofRojBlake: Anyone who would flame this would merely be demonstrating their own prejudice. If someone wants to dispute the facts of this trope, well, good luck. Population demographics are just a google search away, and if you try to suggest that Jewish representation in visual media reflect those global demographics, You Fail Statistics Forever.
