Looney Toons: Not to be confused with The Johnny Hart Version, where whatever it is, it's done by cavemen.

Wolviepris: Would all those ripoffs of Battle Without Honor or Humanity count? I've heard it during the catfight in The Librarian, a Benihana's ad, and the new Trump One ad.

Rogue 7: Boy, Queen gets hit with this a LOT, don't they? I mean, it's in the quote for the page and about five examples.

Kilyle: I can't help but feel that this page needs a link to the short story Melancholy Elephants, but I'm too lazy to go find it right now.

Stealthyboy: Here's a question: Why does this page have two live action TV sections? Is there a reason or can I just put the two together?

CodeMan38: Incidentally, regarding the page quote, Ebert Did Not Do The Research. Johann Strauss is in the public domain; Richard Strauss, on the other hand, isn't (at least in the US, where works enter the public domain 70 years after the author's death), as he died in 1949.

Shrikesnest: This page is kind of a mess. There's a difference between The Jimmy Hart Version and "this song sounds kind of like another song." The best riffs for their instruments get used a lot guys; that doesn't make the songs ripoffs of one another trying to capitalize on the others' popularity.

Prfnoff: Someone really doesn't get that this is a music trope:
  • This trope is the reason that Mystery Science Theater 3000 is unlikely to ever see a DVD release — since MST 3 K featured a different movie in each episode, the producers would have to come up with the royalties to pay for each and every film the show broadcast. Needless to say, Jimmy Hart Versions of all of those films would cost even more than the distribution rights.
