Working Title: Surpisingly Hard: From YKTTW

Man Called True: I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the creators of Alien Hominid were inspired more by Metal Slug than Contra. It certainly plays much, much more like Metal Slug. EDIT: Where my argument for ''Metal Slug'' comes from.

Citizen: Subjective trope, yes, but I don't think the RBY Pokemon example belongs. It's primary justification is that it's just harder relative to the later generations, and considering all the Game Breakers the originals have (Solo-Character Run, psychics, item duping, trading for high level pokemon from other people)...
Pokemon Red, Blue, and even Yellow. Boasting the highest-leveled "Elite Four" until the fourth generation should be evidence enough, and only Diamond and Pearl's Champion has had a team as varied as these games'.
This troper was able to beat the Elite 4 easy enough back when the games first came out, but he can't anymore. Perhaps he lost the ability to properly Level Grind.

Haven: Why is this under Just for Fun? It might be a Subjective Trope, but this isn't really a Just for Fun entry o.O
Willy Four Eyes: The card battles are pretty much the hardest thing in Chocobo Tales/Chocobo and the Magic Storybook, but then, during the last card battle against Bebuzzu, I noticed that the computer always uses the same cards in the same order. I took notes, I challenged him again, I won, I passed go, I collected 200 gil.

Well, should this trope also include surprisingly easy things? There's no separate trope for that, but it should fit well under this trope. The title is Surprise Difficulty, which could mean that it was surprising easy.
