From YKTTW Working Title: Super Not Drowning Skills

yunatwilight: *The Addams Family series:
  • They're (probably) already dead, so this could be handwaved.

Umm ... what? The Addams family are weirdos and arguably Goths, but there's no evidence anywhere that anyone is undead.

Sofos: I second yunatwilight's comment. Never in the TV series or the films was it stated that they are undead / dead. They're just a bit weird, is all.

Just wondering - what's the TV/Film equivalent of this trope? This page talks about infinite breath-holding skills, which doesn't really apply, but many films/shows feature human ability to hold one's breath for an infeasibly long time. Not to mention they normally are involved in extreme physical exertion which would use up the oxygen even quicker.

MCE wondering about where to place examples from the Elder Scrolls series

  • Most races (players and NPC's) can only hold their breath for a certain amount of time, based on endurance score.
  • Water breathing items allow you to stay underwater indefinitely without drowning.
  • Water breathing spells last as long as you can keep recasting them.
  • Argonians have gills and can breath underwater.

Hareoic: Is it me, or does breathing underwater with only a snorkel seem like a recurrent trope in and of itself?
