You know, I must admit, I'm sort of baffled by the quote on the top of this page.
Meems: Me too. Anyone care to explain it (and maybe what it has to do with this trope)?
xwingace: I thought that this trope would be for stories where something is given a particular, seemingly inoccuous name, only for it to be the subject of a horrible pun later on. I can't think of an example right now, but I'm 100% sure Jasper Fforde's work is full of them...
Unknown Troper: For those helping to expand the Overly Long Gag, we should try to keep both the words "nightmare" and "fuel" in there - but not use them next to each other.
Heliomance: Okay, the Overly Long Gag was getting truly ridiculous - incomprehensible and no longer funny. I've indulged in some fairly major pruning, only keeping things that actually are reused as vaguely punny trope titles, and making sure it makes some kind of sense. I will be monitoring this page to make sure it doesn't get out of hand again.
