Looney Toons: The attribution of the first married couple in bed together to The Munsters turns out to be a myth; the episode in which that happened was "Autumn Croakus", broadcast on November 26, 1964 — more than a month after the Bewitched episode.

The Tice: Oliver and Lisa in Green Acres had an enormous single bed in 1965; after The Munsters and Bewitched, yes, but they were probably the first non-supernatural couple to break the taboo. They threw a lot of hints around about their sex life, too, but not as heavy-handedly as the Addams.

Cassius335: Would it be too crass to wonder when masturbation first showed up?

Shoebox: I thought it was Leave it to Beaver who showed the very first toilet tank? (See this page on snopes.com: http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/firsttoilet.asp )

"Obviously a Dead Horse Trope now, though it might crop up from time to time in parody." Hmm... Is this a Dead Horse Trope or a Discredited Trope? I thought a Dead Horse Trope was when the trope is not only irrelevant today, but has also been parodied to death. The latter portion of that sentence suggests that it's still ripe for parody.
