Looney Toons: AJB! For god's sake, please stop putting the More Like A Footnote Than Anything Else index nav bar at the bottom of everything you edit!

Paul A: Are the "the characters were best friends/in love but the actors hated each other" list items really examples of Reality Subtext? Wouldn't they only count if the actors' opinion of each other was reflected by the characters?

Tabby: I agree that those examples shouldn't be in there, and neither should the Firefly example.

Looney Toons: Drop Dead Gorgias, because of the lead times involved in both production and scheduling, the Neil Patrick Harris thing was almost certainly a coincidence.

Ununnilium: I'm not sure if this is actually Reality Subtext. In Kingdom Hearts II, Sora's grown while in Suspended Animation (the characters specifically comment on it). Now, inbetween the production of the original and the sequel, Haley Joel Osment, Sora's English voice actor, went through puberty. It seems like these would be linked, but since Kingdom Hearts was originally released in Japanese, I'm not sure they'd make the change just for that. Anyone got more details?

32_Footsteps: I do - and it wouldn't count. I spoke with Square staff about production of the game. Osment's voice actually was changing near the end of the studio sessions for the first Kingdom Hearts game. They had to remix several of his lines to match them with his voice as it was at the beginning of recording. I would think that if this trope was to apply, Sora would have suddenly started going through puberty late in the first game.

Darmok: Does the Bewitched pregnancy really belong here, or should it be in Written-In Infirmity with the 5 other examples?

Ununnilium: The latter, IMHO.

Zeke: The intro of this trope uses pregnancies as an example, so I don't see how the Bewitched item can fail to qualify. I also think there'd be a pretty dubious subtext to listing pregnancy as an Infirmity. Maybe it should have its own trope; it does happen a lot.

Btw, credit goes to Trek reviewer Tim Lynch for catching the subtext of the DS9 quote. At the time, I didn't know the actors were together. (It didn't take, of course. This is Hollywood...)

Daibhid C: I don't see how "Red Dwarf failed at around the time Craig Charles went to prison" is an example. "''Red Dwarf put the main characters in prison shortly after Craig Charles went to prison", maybe...
Daibhid C: Would the "Doctor-light" Doctor Who episodes (written to give Tennant and the companion a bit of a break) count? ISTR hearing that similar things were done in the Hartnell era (an episode where the Doctor is invisible, and Bill recorded his lines before going on holiday, for instance).
