YYZ: Had to edit the Sudoku line. I'm a bit of a stickler about number puzzles; to me, "number puzzle" implies some required degree of mathematical knowledge, whereas with Sudoku you could replace the numbers with nine random letters of the alphabet and it would work just as well. It's more of a logic puzzle - the numbers are merely the easiest way of keeping track.

Kilyle: I adored my original Windows pack copy of Klotski, a sliding-block game with a final level that took hundreds, maybe thousands of moves to maneuver a 5x5 red brick out of a large square filled with smaller bricks and around the edge of the square to the top. First question: Is this a good enough puzzle game to put on the list? Second question: Anyone know of a copy of the original Windows version available anywhere? The newer versions (several of which are DOS-based) throw in gimicks and don't come close to the original in terms of my personal enjoyment.

Ununnilium: Yes and no! Respectively!

Kilyle: Found it! If anyone actually wants to get a copy, and can't figure out how to get it via Wikipedia links, let me know.

Vilui: I am trying to keep cool here, but it's not easy, since I love puzzle games and stuff like this makes me very angry: Puzzle games are short, simple games based around a single set-piece puzzle, which the player plays over and over again at increasing difficulty levels. Maybe some of them are, but that's like saying that (all) role-playing games are based around a single random encounter which the player plays over and over again at increasing character levels. Please, let's try and be a bit less dismissive of what is a very diverse genre. I'm going to do my best to replace this with a better definition, but it's not at all an easy genre to define.
