Working Title: Orcus On His Throne: From YKTTW

Kizor: A trope that I was never able to conceptualize properly, Sitting Around Being Evil, referred to this. I'm bringing it up as I was congratulated for the title (in 2006). Good show.

Austin: From what I've seen of fantasy, divine or outer planar beings do tend to be traditionally slow workers.

nobody: Kefka amuses himself after taking over the world by destroying random towns when he feels like it. I hardly call that "nothing."

Nornagest: Pulled the following:

*** Hush, blasphemer! There is no 4th edition!

That's what the Dis Continuity article is for. Not this one.

Fighteer: Rewrote the World Of Warcraft entry, since it no longer makes sense in context of the latest expansion. The original text is below, for reference.

  • Arthas, from Warcraft/World Of Warcraft, is currently on his Frozen Throne, clutching his terrible sword. He is actively directing his troops through telepathy though. (He's one of the few notable characters from the Warcraft series that hasn't yet appeared in any shape or form in the MMO).
    • And really, when your enemies are busy destroying themselves in civil wars, the last thing you want to do is give them something to rally against, especially when that's yourself. Add in that Arthas is immortal and most of his enemies aren't, and the waiting game was his best strategy. It is about time he moved on to the next step, though.
      • He makes a brief appearance in Naxx. You catch part of a conversation between him and his lich buddy.
      • As of now, this no longer holds true: Arthas has launched a massive Zombie Invasion against the rest of the game. Players even have the opportunity to become a zombie and join the invading hordes.
      • To boot, throughout the events of the most recent expansion, appropriately entitled Wrath of the Lich King, Arthas is not merely sitting on his throne, but manages to put in at least one or two personal appearances per region in certain key quest lines—with some of these specifically intended to unhinge your own character, during one of which he personally kills you, demonstrating both his genre-savviness in knowing you'll simply come back, on top of just how easily he does it. It would seem that this has now been soundly averted.

Danel: A lot of these examples seem to have slid from the main point of the article, but the one that really sticks out to me is Ozai. I mean, originally the point of this article is the way that the Evil Overlord sits in his stronghold and waits for the hero to get powerful and come to him. It seems to have slid to Evil Overlord who isn't personally running around and doing everything for themselves.
