Musicals about the creation of musicals are not the same as writers writing about writers. Unless it's a musical or play about someone trying to write a musical and gather material, it doesn't belong here. Most Writers Are Writers tends to use the reporter/columnist character as an excuse to go strange places, while musicals that are about musicals tend to be focused more on ensembles as people put the show together, or similar.
Johnny E: I'm not sure I see the distinction. It's the same reason so many songs are about singers.
