Ununnilium: This trope has a few odd aspects. It seems to be about modern China, but rickshaw men? And this?:

  • The world of Disney's Mulan; the title of this trope takes its name from the name Mulan's world was given in Kingdom Hearts II.

Hasher Britarse As someone who lives in Hong Kong, I can tell you there are only six rickshaws left in town and five of those have been up for sale since the old Star Ferry pier closed down. Oh, and on my trips to China proper I've only seen Mao suits on very old men who still venerate the memory of the Great Helmsman. They still have pedal rickshaws in Macau, though.

Gemmifer: This is about the stereotypical mishmash of Western associations with the word "China", so rickshaws, communism, kungfu, serpentine dragons and skyscrapers all belong together in this trope. Oh, and am I the only one who likes the Lovecraft poem? Yes it's China-clicheed as all get out but... Weary moon on the river of the sky...
