Red Shoe: It seems that there is a current Inspector Gadget series on TV right now. I don't know anything about it, but it probably merits a mention. Seems to be some sort of educational documentary thing with Stock Footage of the cartoon Gadget superimposed over travel documentary footage.
LTR: I think you're thinking of "Inspector Gadget Field Trips", which indeed is just old stock footage superimposed with a new voice track. They were produced by the History Channel back in 1996. The recent death of Don Adams may renew some interrest in the original. If not, it certainly nixes any plans to restart the series without finding a pretty good Adams impersonator, if that's possible.
Avatarof Rage: I seem to recall in one series Gadget inexplicably gaining a moustahce for some reason...I'm sure it deserves mention somewhere but i've no idea what trope it would be under
- It was the pilot, where he had a moustache before the writers decided it didn't look good.
- "Let's Get Dangerous: Very, very rarely, Gadget showed competence and was able to avert disaster all on his own. This tends to happen particularly when Penny is in danger."
- Known Unknown: I'd actually like to see that... anyone got any examples? I remember that bit from "Haunted Castle," but that's about it.
