- Just try group-reading Othello in a high school English class, and wait for someone to come across a "What, ho!". This, obviously, meant "hello" back in Shakespeare's day...no longer.
- This is particularly entertaining since most of the "What, ho!"s are directed at male characters.
Wascally Wabbit: A question for the language buffs: Are we sure that the infinite Shakespearean euphemisms are ones that were in popular use, as opposed to having the double meaning because Shakespeare coined it?

- The word "Bonk" is well on its way to this due to Memetic Mutation. Far fewer people use it to mean sexual intercourse anymore, ever since Team Fortress 2 became popular.
- The Scout also sometimes substitutes "boink" for bonk, which is even more of a well known euphemism for sex than bonk.
— since the meaning used in TF 2 predates the sexual euphemism by 40 years.
