SAMAS: You really should have YYTTW'ed this one first.
Would Zorro count?
- No, Spaniard means from Spain, not just Spanish-speaking.
Zorro likely counts. His territory is California before it becomes American; Mexico is Spanish enough.
lost_limey: Could we just rename this to Hispanic Badass or similar? Most of the examples seem to be Latin America rather than Spain.
Troid: How about Carlos Ramirez from The Dresden Files ?
The Schlub: I say we rename it to Hispanic Badass. There are a number of other characters/actors that suit this trope. Danny Trejo, for example, lives and breathes this one.
Callsign Echo: While there are a number of Badass Latin and Hispanic characters, I think the Badass Spaniard is its own distinctive trope, with refined swordplay, a refined accent, and refined manners. These are not always present with other Badass Hispanic characters (i.e. Vasquez from Aliens was BAD ASS. But particularly aristocratic). Perhaps it should be considered a subtrope of Badass Hispanic.
