Working Title: Dark Messiah: From YKTTW
How about the Dark Knight version of Batman? I'm not sure if he really counts as a Dark Messiah, but the in movie he and Gordon certainly seem to set him up that way at the end.
Acacia: Deleting the Girl Genius example as the Baron is the Establishment through military might, not a charismatic type that inspires the faith of the masses. It was as follows if anyone disagrees:
- Baron Klaus Wolfenbach from Girl Genius fits this trope very well. His daughter-in-law-elect is the real deal, though.
dilbert719: The description of the trope includes the line "Has nothing to do with the video game Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, in which the titular character does not fit this trope." The examples list includes the item "Obviously, the titular Dark Messiah of Might And Magic. If you're NOT able to work out his identity within 2 hours of starting the game, you're dangerously Genre Blind." Could someone with knowledge of the work in question identify which is correct, and toss the other?
