Working Title: By The Eyes Of The Blind: From YKTTW

Uknown Troper: Itsn't this just Invisible to Normals? Well, that trope seems to have been frakked up, but my point stands.

bluepenguin: As it stands now, Invisible to Normals seems to be about how people are amazingly oblivious to all the weird stuff going on around them, even when there's no explanation given for why they wouldn't notice the tremendous battle between Good and Evil going on in a public place or whatever. This, meanwhile, is about beings that can only be seen by people meeting certain criteria (which may not have anything to do with possessing magical power, either). The division seems pretty clear to me.

Uknown Troper: That's Weirdness Censor. Invisible to Normals has always, to my mind, been the trope that involves 'normal' people being unable to see what's going on.

White Rose Duelist: I took this out, because it's not really an example. If you were designed to be able to perceive something, this isn't the trope for you.

  • Additionally, the only person who can see the Retu without special equipment is a boy who was specially created to communicate with them.

We have a spoiler for The Emperor's New Clothes! That's awesome :)

  • "You spoiled the spoiler for me! AUGH!!"

Cynthia Wakefield: This troper can confirm anecdotally that the "noises only audible by the young" bit is only true on average. Some young people can't hear it, some people out of the target age can (such as this troper's late-twenties girlfriend).
