Krogzilla - A Work-Com with Kaiju

Krogzilla is probably my favourite of the Smosh 'toons. It's funny, relatable, and simple in a good way. The premise of the show is familiar to anyone who's watched a cartoon about a non-human trying to fit in amongst humans and combines it with workplace-type comedy.

The show's writing and humour is totally relatable to anyone who can't find a stable job. It's a good way to laugh at how difficult life can be. Standard problems in minimum wage jobs play a big part in the show's humour with Krog dealing with things like uptight managers and unpleasable customers. The series' Earn Your Happy Ending adds a friendly reminder to us that even when life craps on you, it will turn out better. The jokes themselves are on target almost all the time. Sure they won't make you guffaw, but you will still have a good chuckle.

The characters are entertaining too. Krog is just a mild-mannered former Kaiju trying to survive the life of a young adult who's just entered the workforce without a degree. Marcus is the human best friend who is much like Krog except more familiar with human customs and may have it worse than Krog in some aspects. There's not much otherwise to him though, beyond he's perhaps even more relatable than Krog for some. Jeff is a mutant barnacle who lives on Krog's face and is also a pretty funny Jerkass. Regurgitor is a fellow shrunken Kaiju and old enemy of Krog who got it better off than him. Anyone who's had an asshole roommate or a hated enemy doing better than them can see the similarities to Jeff and Regurgitor.

The animation isn't that great. It seems to be low-budget Adobe Flash, but one should not expect high quality animation from most Internet cartoons. It makes up for it in other ways stated earlier. The theme song is also great.

Overall, I'd give Krogzilla a 4/5. Krogzilla is one of the best that Shut Up! Cartoons has to offer. If you like work comedy or "trying to survive life" cartoons such as Rocko's Modern Life, Regular Show, and Ugly Americans, I recommend this little webtoon. It's pretty short (10 3-minute episodes), so you should get through it quickly.
