Or they could watch Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated which gives the entire gang a lot more character development.

I would just like to point out that the VA for Daphne is the same person than in Mystery Incorporated, Grey Griffin (or Grey de Lisle).

A Return To Form... Mostly.
Okay, I remember hearing about this show a while before it was announced. When I saw a clip on it on Youtube, I wasn't impressed by the art style. I had even less hope for the show when I found out that one of the producers was Michael Jelenic, the producer and writer for Teen Titans Go!. But I always believed that you need to see things for yourself before making judgment calls. Adhering to said belief, I watched both episodes of the show. My verdict? It's a step down from Mystery Incoporated, but it's still watchable. To sum up this show in few words, it's Family Guy dressed up as Scooby-Doo.
Conclusion: If you're expecting dark themes, Character Development, and overarching plots, you're better off watching Gravity Falls. If you want a purely comedic show, then this is for you. For everyone else, lower your expectations.
