I fixed the page as well as I can. However, there were just some examples that I just couldn't comprehend, so I had to hide them for now. It's also a bit messy. But I hope it's a good start.
"That is hard to argue or agree with." ~Penny Hide / Show RepliesIt's a good start - I'll work on the rest later and do what I can.
"Did you expect somebody else?"I can't read this. I know it's supposed to be self demonstrating, but it's nearly incomprehensible. I can't edit it into comprehensibility because I haven't played.

Normally I'd make a bigger stink, but let's face it, the only reason anyone knows of the game at all is because of the Memetic Mutation and Engrish.
But yes, according to the rules this should not be the case. We should probably transplant this to selfDemonstrating.Zero Wing and turn this into a proper work page.
Edited by Larkmarn Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. There is a big difference between "Engrish" and "completely incomprehensible". A lot of the writing on the page completely disregards this. Especially all that weird "Version PC-Engine CD" whatever crap that strongly suggests somebody threw it all through a translator program several times.
Edited by SotiCoto "Do what thou wilst shalt be the whole of the law." ~ Aleister Crowley Hide / Show RepliesActually, I tried to emulate the style of poor automatic translation, mixed with real Engrish that I saw in other video games like "prosess" and "dispray"
You're welcome to go watch/play the PC-Engine CD version and correct the entries.
Personally, I'd rather just limit the faux Engrish to the work description. By extending it to the trope examples as well, you're pretty much asking every editor that wants to work on this page to conform to that standard in their example descriptions, which is not something that everyone can/wants to do. Not to mention that we probably want this page to be taken seriously at some point.
Personally, I think it might be better to treat the article in the same manner as Translation Train Wreck - leave the self-demonstrating "Blind Idiot" Translation version at the top, give a normal-English descrpiton below it, and keep the Running Gag to a mimimum among the listed tropes.
Or better yet, how about a self-demonstrating page as well as a normal page?
"Did you expect somebody else?"Yes. Or no self demo at all.

Is Zero Wing the Trope Codifer for Memetic Mutation? As far as my memory goes, it was one of the first, if not THE first really widely recognised and acknowledged internet meme.
Always expect the worst and you can only be pleasantly surprised.
