I notice that someone has recently created new sub-pages for the different games, but they still don't have their own main articles yet.
The only thing that would be needed to give each game it's own page is a description for the game and I can handle the grunt work in splitiing the pages
So we could start description here or in a sandbox like Uncharted
Working on cleaning up List of Shows That Need SummaryIn Uncharted 2, once Lazarevic is defeated, Drake decides not to kill him; when Lazarevic considers this cowardice, Drake smugly alerts him to the Guardians behind him and leaves him to be brutally killed. Is there a Trope for this kind of thing?
Hide / Show RepliesIt's either Pragmatic Hero or Not So Above It All, although I think it's more toward the former than the latter, as in that exchange he does admit that he doesn't have the cajones to kill in cold blood like Lazarevic wants. But he doesn't save Lazarevic either. Maybe it could be both.
How about the Anti-Frusteration trope option for the game? Number of times I would have no idea what to do if the game didn't clue me in.
Edited by 184.74.93.136Hi folks I need a bit of help with an example(s) from a Special Efforts thread. See InstantDeathBullet Sandbox for more details Links to threads are in the description.
Any help, suggestions, or other info can be posted to The Special Efforts thread
The examples shown here could perhaps be salvaged with more context or used in other tropes.
What game mechanics, if any, make instant death possible with these games? Please be specific. For example weapons, hit locations, critical damage, direct one shot one kill weapons (like the Golden Gun in GoldenEye)
Does an Instant Death Bullet Occur in cut scenes, gameplay, or anywhere else in the game?
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves: Averted and played straight in one mission. Jeff, Elena's cameraman, has been shot in the stomach, and Nate decides to carry him to safety despite Chloe's protests. He survives until the end of the mission, at which point Lazarevic shoots him in the head, finishing him off.
Okay, Yahtzee called it: who else thinks Uncharted 4 needs to take place in America with Drake getting savaged by Illuminati MI Bs while he explores secret Masonic temples and abandoned nuclear missile silos.
I changed the page quote to something from the first game that I thought did a good job of summing up the mood and style of the games, and uploaded a higher res version of the page image. Couple of days later, they've been changed back. Any particular reason why? I just think that the two quotes from the game openings, as good as they are, don't set the tone as well in a TV Tropes article, which tends to go for a more colloquial, humorous style. Am I the only one who thinks this?
SUGGESTED MECHANIC FOR UNCHARTED 3
Invisible time limits and alternate cutscenes. If you complete the platforming and puzzles fast enough, you get the expected cutscene where Drake gets the clue, the bad guys steal it, he escapes, and then he chases them. If you don't, you get a cutscene where the bad guys find the clue and Drake just starts chasing them.
Edited by Kalaong Hide / Show RepliesUm...sorry, what? Are you saying this is an announced feature for Uncharted 3 or are you suggesting a gameplay mechanic? If it's the latter, it doesn't belong on the main page.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith.I'm suggesting a way of avoiding the Unfortunate Implications of a Macguffin Delivery Service.
Mark Wahlberg is confirmed to be playing Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie. [1]
This page is getting a bit long, maybe someone should split it into pages for each of the games.
